he will most likely pay rent until they find a replacemnet tenant.

he will also pay a fee to the letting agent in other for them to list the property
This is right. Happened to me, I paid about 230£ admin charges to the agency and was lucky enough they got a tenant fast, so I only paid 1 extra week rent than I needed..

Find all the job agencies in your neighborhood and pay them a courtesy visit.
They're often the quickest way to get something.

That's not their problem. They can meet up with the bills since they can work multiple jobs. They can easily manage. They don't have anyone they are looking after everyone is doing fine. If you don't want to work ( I can't say you don't see work in this situation) government can provide benefits.

If it's that bad their elected parliament members will address the issue. That one na small problem. As for their government they can easily remove whoever is not doing well.

Their system is working.

It's not like African countries that they will have to wait for 8 years to pass before making a decision.

Since you have MSc in Childhood, I would suggest PGDEA Primary studies.
So that makes it possible to be able to teach the lower and upper primary school.

@STENON...
please I would like to make a few enquires as your name came up recommended a couple of times as someone who could be of help.

I have. BSc in Chemical Engineering and a PGDE from Unilag. I teach Chemistry at the moment with Lagos State but would like to further for MSc in Scotland. Is it preferable I go for MSc or another PGDE in Scotland to enable me teach in Scotland.

Would really appreciate your guidance on this. Thanks in anticipation.

From April 2022 your NI contribution will be going up by. 1.25% . Some people who their energy companies went bust have had to see rises of 54%. Those pensioners who have only got their pension to rely on are going to find it very hard. You don’t worry the protesters are on their way. Wages need to go up in line with inflation and this is not going to happen especially for the government workers. I see a lot of protests this summer.

Your husband should look for care/support worker roles. Most warehouses in Middlesbrough want full-time.

Hi, if you have your PGDE and registered with TRCN, I think its best to contact GTCS to apply for conversion. They will let you know if you are eligible or not even from Nigeria. If you are eligible to be registered as a Teacher, there is no need for another PGDE in Chemistry but I would suggest PGDE in Mathematics (based on your Engineering background) or MSc in specialist Education like inclusive Education, into Headship postgraduate, Inquiry Education programme.

Chemical Engineering is also good but most people that did its MSc course are currently enrolled for PhD because no industry is willing to employ them.

Hello everyone and compliments of the season.

So, I have observed that there has been a huge increase of mature individuals (not only here in Nairaland) with children applying and coming to the UK under the tier 4 students route. There is nothing wrong with searching for greener pastures however, more thought has to be placed prior to making this huge step under certain conditions. For instance, an applicant with his/her significant other with 3+ children coming via tier4 students visa. The applicant is restricted to 20hrs/week for work (can work full-time during holidays), the significant other will most likely get a minimum wage job with long hours, the children would need childcare (very expensive in the UK), accommodation with a family of 5+ living in a 2 bedroom apartment, the cost of living..............etc. Do you see my point? Here in the UK, the major cause of separation among immigrant families is due to finances.

Coming to the UK on the student route with all the family at once is extremely difficult and not ideal. The ideal scenario is for the applicant to come in first, test the waters and bring in the rest of the family following graduation and securing a job.

The intention of coming to the UK through the student's route may be to acquire permanent status and if this is the case, going to Canada may be the best option as there may be a possibility to get PR before setting foot in the country (I don't know whether this is still available)

Having said all the above, there may be some success story, but before coming via students route with family, think deeply about it.

Some Financial Tips

So, one thing dependants can do to bring extra income is to invest in YOUTUBE content creation (especially during the current pandemic). Yes, this is a good avenue for extra income as you grow your subscribers. The initial stages will be tough but with commitment and dedication, your channel will grow. For instance, your youtube channel can focus on your family settling in the UK, recording your lifestyle, and giving information due to personal experience to other Nigerians/Africans that might be looking to move to the UK under the same route. Another option is photography. Acquire a DSLR camera, start taking casual photos and grow to be professional and set up a business (while being vigilant about the UK immigration rules).

This is just a personal opinion as a lot of families have become financially stranded and later come to Church to ask for assistance.

My whole thing is to think critically before bringing the whole family on a tier4 students visa.

God bless and happy new year in advance.

Good day. Pls I'm new and need directions. Could I get across to you urgently by any means sir?

You know during the pandemic the govt was busy dishing out money to businesses without checking if some of these businesses actually exist.
Paying people to stay at home even as many are actually working. People claimed £££££££ fraudulently because the govt was willing to give out taxpayers money like candy

Now is the time to payback and its going to be painful.

Contracts must be signed with a duration regardless...circumstances change and ppl have to take tough decisions.
Abi is one able to start a tenancy in this country without a fixed duration on the contract?

Hello,

Anyone in Portsmouth, or knows someone in Portsmouth.

I am currently trying to get a 1 or 2 bedroom accommodation for my family in Portsmouth. Getting accommodation for family is quite a challenge. Anyone that can help in any way, be it share or apartment transfer should please get in touch.

Many thanks

Nice but I wonder if delivery of puff puff and meat pie from london to up north will be viable

Very viable. I don't live close to her but whenever I use her she delivers freshly made puff puff and meatpies which I then freeze and warm up as needed.

Elders, please how does bus transportation work up north. I stay in Peterlee. Do I need to buy tickets ahead before boarding or I can just pay in the bus like normal danfo in Naija lol? .

Secondly, Is there a ticket that works for all service providers like arriva, stagecoach etc?

This is what made my cousin get an £50 fine that year. Yeah you need to buy daily, weekly or monthly bus pass at the station or better still pay at entry with contactless.

Those 2 companies don’t work together unfortunately so you have to buy different tickets just like avanti and london midland trains
