As far as I am concerned, this is just a rant and attack.

Football has passed the stage of players in a better league. Strategy and tactics are crucial to starting a lineup.

As for the energy you are talking about, a simple positional understanding can sort a lot. If he relies on his strengths. That is, using his passing skills to unlock defenses, he would not need to run too much to defend effectively.

Saying Nwakali was average is you not being honest. He was well above average against Guinea Bissau. Learn to analyse without interests or sentiments. Advice.

It's not a rant and it's never an attack.

A key aspect of football that’s under-rated is the midfield role..

A strong midfield game is what saw Pep take the world by storm with his trademark tiki-taka football. It is this same approach he brought to City...

Can Nwakali hold his own against the Ghanaians? He played in a dead rubber game against Guinea Bissau and he's now the next pirlo? Evryone knows even Onyedika is better than Nwakali...

Yet Eguavoen however thinks Nwakali is better than all of them….that’s why Ghana will eat us for breakfast if he gets to start him.

when I tell you guys that the hate for kids born in the diaspora is real here una go say I be as****licker

We are suppose to be happy that a great addition as lookman is in our disposal now but to few here they are just pained to see another British born player in the mix

The only 2 wingers based on current form that I won’t drop for lookman in the current eagles set up is Simon and Dennis, others lookman is better than them based on current form

what you fail to realize is that S.E is having a "golden generation" from both Nigerian born players and foreign born players and since the foreign born players are not sure if they want to play for S.E then lets go for the ones that are sure... that's the summary... the only position where we haven't found golden generation is GK..

a formation of:

Osimhen Dennis

Simon Lookman Amoo

Ndidi Aribo

Ekong Omeruo Ajayi

Uzoho

I prefer Amoo to chuks because Amoo scores from outside the box and cuts inside...

No one said Next Pirlo. That is coming from your animosity towards Kelechi Nwakali. I have told you to stop thinking better. That is one thing I like about football. It teaches you about life.

People have their strengths and weakness. Kelechi Nwakali's strength is that he knows the passing game. He has the natural instinct for it and was lucky to have trained with Amunike as the pivot of his team for over four years.

Eguavoen does not think Nwakali is better than Onyeka or Aribo. Hardly will you find a coach thinking like that. He will work with a strategic plan and pick players that will fit into the tactics.

As for starting against Ghana, let the coaching crew draft an effective strategy and select the best for each role. If Nwakali best fits, so be it. If not, those who suit should play.

Mr joe, talking about tactics, 4-4-2 leaves us short in midfield.. Until we get hammered 3 or 4 goals by a team at world cup...

Think about this. If common Sudan was dominating our midfield at times. What will better teams do ?

We need to go back to 4-3-3 as our primary formation.

Aribo as AM (which we still are yet to see)

With 2 of Ndidi or Onyeka behind him.

If we need even more creativity we can bring in Iwobi and move Aribo back to CM..

This is brilliant football. Making it look easy with the way he passes and helps the defence also.

I also prefer a midfield 3 and more fixed defense setup. I like the free 8 role a lot. When I was younger, I called it the two 10s. It is what you see Bernado Silva and De Bruyne play.

However, the coach has his own philosophy and he has the way he makes up for the depleted midfield. He likes to dominate the offensive third with numbers. What matters is him improving on the way he deals with the midfield.

I also think we actually suffer from over-committing. If Ndidi can become part of the defensive unit, and cut committing to the attack, I believe our midfield will be more stable.

In the end, it is the philosophy of the coach that leads. Let us see if Amunike's addition will bring a change in pre-match reading settings.

From my belief, Huesca's problem with Nwakali has to do with contract issues. I suspect his management believes he deserves more money.
It seems his management team is also delusional, he deserves more money with useless stats at 23 years of age.
Which other player with such a wonderful skill set is languishing in second division football.

I dare Eguavoen to start Nwakali against Ghana and see what happens. Anyone who understands football would have noticed Nwakali's game. Nobody is saying he is not skilful. It's the work off the ball and the overall energy that is missing from his game. Let Eguavoen start him against Ghana, so we can all just close this matter once and for all.

It's funny Eguavoen is starting Nwakali ahead of Onyeka.

Onyeka so bad yet he is playing in the epl week in week out.

Nwakali is so good, he is guarding his skills on the bench of a second tier mid table team in Spain..

Nwakali is average….in fact he is worse than average….

He played two games and was average at best….(that’s me being kind)..

He wasn’t average in the game that he created 3 clear cut chances in the first half. Even if he was average, so was his co-midfielders. It’s not like all our players are world beaters

You prefer an inexperienced player at a backwater league to someone that has proved himself at the biggest stage in the world? You’re a dunce. Let amoo go can prove himself at a bigger league before he can think of benching chukwueze. If chukwueze was playing in Swedish or danish league, how many goals would he be scoring in a season
Picking Amoo over Chuckwueze must be a joke.......unless Eguavoen gave Amoo the same opportunity he gave Nwakili and he grabbed it.

Chuks was poor in the AFCON. So for me it's either Ejuke, Dennis or Amoo on that wing..

It's only in your head that people hate foreign borns...

Based on current form, Lookman isn't better than Chukwueze... Chuks has scored in the laliga, champions league and Copa de Rey this season.. 6 goals and one assist in total compared to Lookman's 5 goals and 1 assists despite playing fewer games...

Let's see Lookman in action in the GWG first before we conclude that he is better than our current wingers..... Okoye is playing in a top league but is delivering a disasterclass every matchday for the super eagles
Yes we must see Lookman first but Chuckwueze I saw in Afcon can be displaced by any winger.

442 isn't the issue o, it's style and discipline that makes its not to suit us now.

Uruguay has done more than we can dream of at the WC with that formation

Chukwueze's performances in SE started a downhill course after Rohr switched to 4-4-2.

You have a point Mr Odunayo... Formations are nothing but numbers. What is far more important is the role behind the numbers.

I think we were having problems squeezing the lines when the ball turned over.

We need more tactical awareness from the wide players.. That's why i am excited lookman is an addition.

Our wingers are piss poor at assisting goals.. They lack football intelligence, lack the ability to cross, lack vision. They are only dribblers.

Lookman is superior to all of our wingers in these aspects..

They said Chuks plays at top level.. Who he epp?. If his so called scintillating form doesn't translate to the SE who dat help?

Dude was the worst starter in the last Afcon, totally anonymous.

He created one for sadiq (clear cut) another corner kick clear cut to (iheanacho) and another crossing clear cut. If those 3 chances was into the hands of lewandoski, it’s 3 goals for us. The issue with nwakali is that we don’t have another like for like player at SE and we don’t have the luxury of omitting players with his skill set. Some people are mentioning onyedika, Frank d tank etc just remember that selecting 3 dm in a game will just devoid your midfield of any creativity
