Webster has not started building up the hype that White received

But now Chelsea put their name in, I'm sure his price will automatically become £50m starting price

Yea true.

I've not watched his game very well yet. I will check him out.

This is preposterous. Firstly, Lukaku didn’t play any penalty so you can’t be too sure he would have scored…players miss penalties.

The last time Lukaku lost a PK was in 2017, Havertz lost PK against Villareal last August, so cross the t.

philip0906:

Secondly, you’re not smarter than the gaffer. Coaches who win trophies, usually do so by looking at important metrics and always maintain what they deem as the winning “model” which includes systems and players.

This is fallacious in its entirety and always echoed by fans who see coaches as infallible.

Coaches are humans too susceptible to blunders and some coaches had owned up to their mistakes in the past after matches.

philip0906:

Havertz has been involved in 2 finals with 2 goals and assists, no coach would haul him out for the sake of hauling him out…Guess what, Havertz got us the winning goal which justifies his being left in the game.

So he was left because Tuchel knew we would get a PK right? This is lame.

The main reason why Lukaku was subbed off was tiredness which will affect the team shape. Penalty is not a child's play and don't tell me that Lukaku would've scored it because the last time he was given a PK against Bayern he missed it during a final.

But the last time Havertz was given penalty before this one he scored right?

If you watch football without bias, you would notice that Rudiger has improved and his monstrous energy and pace keeps our defence afloat. I often lose count of how many recovery runs that guy makes in a game.

One day he would leave and we will back to square one again.

I thought the senseless gamble you meant is Havertz taking the penalty. My bad. I get what you mean now.

Havertz might not be spectacular in the game but he certainly wasn't the poorest player in the pitch. We lacked creativity as a team, it's not a Havertz thing only. But because Havertz have this reputation here, everybody will naturally attack him.

Kante had a stinker of a game yesterday, but because he is loved by everyone, no one talks about it. Go watch the game again, the number of times Kante lost possession or made a wrong pass in the midfield is uncountable. Of all the posts you quoted, it's only one person that mentioned Kante.

Havertz reputation will always precede him here. So the attacks is not surprising.

And Lukaku is not immune to missing PK so you can't say for sure that he will score. You are just speculating. Same way I can tell you that Lukaku, in that situation, will miss. All speculation. Fact: Lukaku cost us Super League against Bayern in 2013. So leave that talk of Lukaku would have scored it.

We see players literally shying away from moments like this. Havertz stepped up and won the game for us. Take it or leave it, that moment defined the game and Havertz stepped up and delivered. Give him props for that.

On a side note, come out let's talk about this guy...

Sincerely, i wasn't going to highlight Havertz flaws in the match at all, until after the match, Amoto94 attacked my in-play post which to any sane fan watching at that time must have related with.

Havertz lost his PK against Villareal last August, while Lukaku last lost his, in 2017. I will be stupid not to believe the latter doesn't have the higher chance of scoring a PK.

Silva played top teams before Chelsea, he didn’t win UCL.

He played with the likes of Ronaldinho, Neymar, Zlatan, Di Maria, Mbappe, Verrati, Seedorf, Nesta, Gattuso, Pirlo, David Luiz, Maltuidi, Cavani, Lavezzi and other world class players.

He has partnered and played with all kind of players. Yet, he couldn’t win European trophy, also played under Tuchel outside Chelsea and didn’t win it.

But somehow, his biased and shameless fanatics want us to believe he’s the reason Chelsea won UCL, they said he’s anchoring our defense. Someone who’s been protected by Rudiger’s ruggedity.

Unless you’re untruthful to yourself, then will you doubt that Rudiger wasn’t and still isn’t influential than Silva in that backline.

Chelsea gave Silva European medal. Whatever bragging rights his fans are using now, Chelsea gave it to him even without him contributing much.

Exactly why you shouldn't be too confident of this or that player will score. All of them can score or miss.

We can even say that TT intentionally left Havertz for penalty in the match. Maybe not for regular time, but shootout. Seeing that the first and second penalty takers aren't in the pitch, it is logical to leave the next best penalty taker in the pitch seeing that the game is heading to shoot out.

TT knew what he was doing.

Havertz scored yesterday, you’re still hung on needless probabilities and pasts.

Secondly, a coach is paid millions of euros to do these things. They train with these players everyday and know their capabilities while you’re far away making assumptions. Like I said, you can’t know more than a coach.

Thirdly, no one said he was left to score a penalty, you’re just a trying to be clever by half. I clearly stated why: His goal and assist ratio in finals was enough to let him see out the game and he ended up netting the penalty.

It proves that Lukaku has higher chances of scoring a PK if you know how to work with data.

It is still wrong as they could have scored before the final whistle and cost us the chance of making history.

This is the mentality of an ignorant soccer fan.

Below was Tuchel's admittance of selection blunder last year. We were fortunate yesterday unlike then.

Educate yourself and stop arguing blindly.

Even if you like, bring an article from the 80s, it doesn’t change the fact that you cannot know more than the coach. You thought you did something with that? Lmao!

You’re just an armchair Nairaland analyst. Stick to that and let those experienced in it, do their job.

For Christs sake, why are we still arguing over our players right now?? Can't we just be happy that we all just won a major trophy??
Why must we continue to slice and dice our players. They all play for the same badge, let's just praise them all and continue to hope for the best.
Enough with all the agenda's abeg.

Lukaku is number 2 in PK duties. No one is arguing that fact. But does being number 2 make him immune to missing PK? Even Jorginho as number 1 misses PKs. I don't know what you are on about Lukaku scoring the PK. I don't do assumptions, I face facts. The fact is Havertz took the penalty and scored. Lukaku could have scored and could have missed, that's assumptions.

And if they scored, will it be Havertz fault? What if Villareal scored the few minutes TT brought him in for PK duties? Whose fault would it have been? If it was TT's intention for Havertz to be in the pitch for shootout, it's the right decision. You need your best players for penalty shootout. And Havertz is the best left on the pitch.

And that Segedinho's post makes absolutely zero sense. Our attack have been blunt from 1st minute to the end of the match. It was not as if the attack was sharp when Lukaku was on the pitch. If it was that sharp, we should have been 3 or 4 goals up before Lukaku left. Havertz is not solely the reason for our blunt attack.

If you think donstan.18 football knowledge is not found wanting pls take your time and go through some of his migraine inducing takes.

Salah excelled everywhere he was given considerable amount of playing times and also took Egypt to the brink of Afcon but losing on a penalty is a system player cus according to him he has only won trophies under klopp system. Coutinho on the other hand, who has won trophies under different system is also called a system player because he only excelled at Liverpool according to don- confusionist .

In all honesty, Rudiger was bad before Tuchel, I personally slandered him and preferred Zouma.

But how can, I mean.. How can one watch Chelsea under Tuchel and say Silva has been influential more than Rudiger? This Rudiger?

Man singlehandedly made Madrid, ATM and ManCity toothless in our UCL win.

Made block of the century in the finals against Foden. He’s a world class player, best we’ve seen under Tuchel.
