It is disappointing that MURIC or what the name is doesnot know what it obtains in the civil service.The Police officer in question did not apply with a degree and was not employed with a degree but later went further to obtain degrees There are thousands like him even in the academic environments who have had degrees but not yet recognised for various reasons depending on the regulations of their establishments. MURiC should find out the regulations fiyr studying futher in the police force.Did he meet them? If he did why the delay in his conversion ? Alternatively if the police officer is interested in the academics why not applying to a university and starting as Lecturer II? MURIC is adivised to investigate issues like this very well before intervening in it for some officers with thier actions have already mortgaged their progression at work.

There is nothing like justice , fairness and equity in Nigeria. There are many cases like this in the police, Navy, AirForce and the Army. Even in the civil service.

What I don't understand is why a man who has managed to earn a PhD - an honor less than 1 in 1,000 Nigerians will ever get - should be begging for promotion within a "police" force comprised mostly of the barely literate and the hopelessly corrupt. Why would anyone with a legitimate PhD be so desperate for an officer commision in such a ridiculous organization? Either this man's doctorate is a worthless certificate from a degree mill, or he is so lacking in courage, initiative and imagination that making him an officer would only serve to drag down a police force that is already close to the trash heap. To remain in such a terrible organization even with such outstanding credentials says something deeply unflattering about a person's character.

That is why you need to attend a school where they wear caps for graduation and not scalfs.

Its only boko haram ideologist organizations that do their things anyhow , in the Nigerian police force and other paramillitary even military, you must have a study permit before you go ahead to further your education. So that when you come back and there is opening, you will be immediately reabsorbed otherwise you will need to stay for while and meanwhile, paramillary jobs is not totally academic based , its purely experience based.

He should try to take up jobs at the Nigerian police training school as an instructor instead if wanting to be a DPO with PhD.

His first degree was not considered but he signed the acceptance letter himself and submitted it back that they should proceed with his documentation on his ssce certificate , so what is baba Muri's problem. I believe civil service and Para military have rules for promotion. Some people entered the force with their Waec even though they had a degree, just to easily gain entry into the system. The force can't just promote one like that. Except this Muric man just want to catch cruise by engaging the youths in meaningless arguments.

So why on earth would his first degree not be considered, if there isn’t something fishy going on - more especially as he graduated with such a high GPA?
Also, illegally refusing to consider a persons qualifications, does not equal him joining with an SSCE. He joined as a bachelors degree holder, but was placed way below his appropriate rank - and the same nonsense continues till today.
