Hi all,
I am a electrical engineer with a bachelors certificate. However, the whole of my 3 years of experience is in marketing field.
I'm also single.
Do you advise me to apply for only education assessment with engineers Australia or go for marketing with vetassess?
Thanks.

Hello. Please I need to be sure I understand something.

The occupation I intend to nominate is in Group C. One of the criteria, which I think relates to me is thus: “
Qualification(s) assessed at least AQF Diploma level without a highly relevant field and at least two years of post-qualification highly
relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;

Now my qualification is nowhere near(without a highly relevant field) my intended nominated occupation (INO). But I have a little experience. If I were to do the assessment would it be a positive one?

To be precise, my qualification is in biology and my INO is something in Agric.

Thank you.

South Australia finally opens up to alot of occupations, mine inclusive.
They require atleast 8years work experience, from my skill assessment, VETASSESS put me at 6years work experience. sad

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by NHQGUY: 6:31am On Feb 16, 2022
I'll like to find out.
I started working in July of 2014, by this year July that puts me at 8years work experience.
Unfortunately VETASSESS took out a year and started counting from July of 2015.

Can I apply by July this year when I'll have hit the 8years work experience requirement or I have to wait for next year as VETASSESS insist I started in 2015.

Also is there a near possibility of this work experience requirement been reviewed soon to accommodate others?

Please don't apply if you don't have the qualifications BASED ON THEIR OWN ASSESSMENT.
It is better to apply with their assessment, be invited based on that and then the CO decides that your previous experience is relevant than for you to apply and claim higher number of years than you've been deemed and then they shut you down.
That's my advice tho

For positive assessment, you have a greater chance with EA.
Marketing and Engineering are not related and as a result, you may not get a positive assessment with Vetassess. Also, what kind of marketing are you into?

I think you can give it a try after July.
The requirement says You must have at least 8 years of work experience in your nominated or closely related occupation. which I think you meet.
But make sure your EOI has the initial years that Vetassess cut off listed as "not relevant on EOI.

You can go ahead when it's 8 years because your case is a peculiar own.
ROI only leads to a pre-invite. So if they want to consider it, they would send you an invite to now apply for a nomination.

Oh, great!
Thank you so much, this clarifies alot.
I'll edit my profile to reflect the actual work start date on my EOI then apply for SA ROI after 14th July.

Once again, thanks alot.

The possibility of a positive assessment is 50-50 since you have up to 2 years experience and your qualification is unrelated.
You may be better of waiting till you have 3 years experience and all will be deducted but no one knows how many years exactly will be deducted.
You have a decision to make

@tunlex01 thanks for your updates. The offshore conditions for SA are really crazy! for example I have an assessment as telecoms network engineer with 85 points(10yrs experience and proficiency plus English) but the point required is 90 .now I can see there is telecom network planner with required point of 65 and IELTS of proficiency plus which fortunately I have.my questions are;

1. can I apply using telecom network planner role?

2. what is really the definition of closely related occupation? AZSCO code or if the occupation is assessed by same body? please note below from SA site

Occupations with the same Skills Assessing Authority are closely related occupations
