Do you know what the person you quoted spends on? How do you know they are spending too much?
I swear, I no just understand how someone can live on 40k monthly.

We have cable subscription, house rent, NEPA bill etc, its either he is one of those people who dodge NEPA officials or he lives with his parents

Still jobless at the moment. But if I am to say my quota. Firstly, 10 percent goes to God, 20 percent goes to investment, 10 percent goes to savings, and 60 percent to my immediate needs.

oga, not everyone likes stocks.
People save to invest, except u want people to put N1m in saving box then the bank is great

Give me an example of investment that you are talking about and we can discuss the ROI as compared with the stock market.

I try to save over 50 percent. It’s not difficult because I’m responsible for just myself. No one really depends on me. Though sometimes my younger ones call me for financial assistance but it’s rare.

I also travel a few times because of work. During those times, company is responsible for my expenses which makes me save some more.

I am looking for a wifey grin

The question should have been how much of your income do you invest? Because banks don’t add value to your savings rather they charge your savings.

Ok Michelle, I dont claim to know it all but I love intelligent conversation backed up with facts and numbers. So here it goes. Lets assume you make you make 100k monthly and you save 25k. lets say you started in June 2019. that was 32 months ago. and you savings in the bank should be 800k today. instead lets say that since june 2019 that you have been buying MTN shares with 25K every month since then, in june, their share price was 127 Naira. an average price over that 32 months is around 138 Naira. So you would have had 5797.10 shares today. given that 1 MTN share is 198.50 today, you will have 1,150,724 Naira. No Risks, no overhead, no stress of running after customers to pay you. no police wahala, no bad road spoiling you goods or fire or theivies . That is how wealth is built. being busy doesn't always mean that you are being productive.

there is a difference between statistics and reality.
The idea that ur 25k monthly will increase to 1m is just statistics, in reality it could go either ways, haven't u heard about ppl who bought shares and the next month it nosedives?
Now let's look at my point if u get a grocery shop with that 800k, whether there is recession or not, u will still sell ur goods and make profit, even if no one buys goods that day, u will still have ur grocery shop and still sell 2moro. At the end of the year, u will still make a little profit

Everything I wrote to you is not statistics. You forget that you need to be physically in that grocery store to man it, therefore your 100k monthly income is gone. Stocks nose dive, smart people buy at the dip. MTN is going no where, your 800k shop could be razed by fire.... Ask Ebeano super market

chances that ur shop will be razed down is just less than 1%, u dont need to be physically present to supervise ur shop.
While u have no say how the stock market is run, u are the boss of the shop and could make changes than suit u.

No matter how u twist it. Personal investment that u can supervise is better than stock market where u need luck

Ok Michelle, its your money. Go ask some economists on what I am telling you. I know how much I made today from stocks. I guess you made some too from the grocery setup
