Chemical2:..... What is difficult in applying for a visa from the Nigeria Embassy ...why do we always think and like doing things in our own way just because we feel it could work in Nigeria.... 1 Like |
Nigerian Immigration Service can process visas on arrival for American citizens visiting Nigeria, not the other way. LakesideNG is correct.[/quote I wonder which airline will allow you board without a visa of the country on your passport you are going to. I have tried it before when I presented a US passport in the process of boarding from NewYork to Nigeria but they demanded for a visa to Nigeria I had to show them my Nigerian passport before I could board. United states is not a visa free country to Nigeria. |

It is not a difficult thing to get a Nigerian Visa, you have the option of the embassy or on arrival. Both are legit. I once did visa on arrival for my child and i never had an issue. All you need go to their site and the option is there for you to fill. A print-out form is what you use in-lieu of a visa at the airport. you can DIY or get an agent if you wish.

If you show the necessary paperwork, for a visa on arrival, including the payment of the necessary fees, you would be allowed to board. 1 Like |

Armstrong34: This was what I did after consulting an immigration officer when my fiancée was coming from the states to Nigeria after she got her passport there. I could remember my immigration officer who works at Muritala Mohammed Intl airport said they use to do it base on trust cos most youth here will bring them in and lodge them in the hotel to scam them and we paid to apply for visa on arrival and he was even the one who monitored her from the arrival wings and brought her out to me at the Entrance gate of the Arrival wing. What you don’t know is what you don’t know. I’m speaking from my experience it doesn’t mean I cut corners Ok “. 2 Likes |

For those of us still waiting on NOA2, USCIS just updated the time line to receive the notification. As a May 2021 filer, it's already 8 months and counting. I just tire for this Mata oh!

Let your heart be calm, yours should be out soon because some people that had the same NOA1 date as you on Visa journey got approved 14th February 2022 and with the way approvals are flying, you will get yours soon. As at yesterday about 206 cases were approved, I just pray they continue with this speed. mumdearest: 1 Like |

It is thesame experience with me too. Over 4 months. I read somewhere the best time to search is between 8:am- 10:am. Monday through Friday, that hasn't worked either. We just have to keep trying and keep hoping. I will be here looking out for a favourable response. SmartJac: |

5 month down the line, yet no NOA1. This is frustrating. People were told the whole process will take 6 to 7 months to be issued the fiance visa. At this rate, it might take more than one year. Frustrating! |
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by JadesolaAde(f): 3:15pm On Feb 22, 2022 |
I was told 6 to 7 months when I started too. We submitted our application December 2020 and our case is still sitting pretty at NVC. Just put your mind off it and decide when it comes it comes ni o 2 Likes |

JadesolaAde: It’s due to the pandemic, pre-pandemic it used to be 4-6months. let me briefly share my timeline I filed December 2019, Case approved and sent to NVC in April 2020. NVC didn’t send to Lagos until May 2021. I know the waiting is crazy and depressing, but it would be best if you fix your mind at something else, and try to check your case once, every 2 weeks rather than everyday. While you’re waiting, take your time to learn about the city/state you’re going to. If you don’t know how to drive, please learn before leaving Nigeria as it would help you a lot prior to getting the Country’s driver’s license. Furthermore, take your Nigeria International drivers license with you when coming. To make your timeline fast, your petitioner can start making enquiries on availability of dates for wedding at the city clerk office, because it’s another long wait for AOS filing o, and you don’t want to be wasting time. P.S; be sure of the time you’re going to be in the States before picking the date for wedding because your Visa permits you to be married within 90days of entering the states, and getting wedding date is an hassle. Otherwise, you must return to your home country. Above all; stay safe and look after your health 3 Likes |
