charlesemeka85:Nigeria is the English dust bin. Dele Ali might never see a three lions call up again. He might regret not playing for us England stand a chance of getting to the World Cup final with the quality of players they have right now They won u17 and u20 world tournaments 5 years ago. Only a matter of time before they get to the World Cup final with the crop of technically sound players they’ve got. |

yinkeys: If Nigeria is English dustbin then Senegal Mali and many other Francophone/ some Arabs African countries are French dustbin Dele Alli will never regret not playing for us ,he should regret why he stopped working hard, someone that achieved what many pure English men couldn’t achieve for the national team Dele Alli won 37 caps within just 4 years playing for the English team ,an average player will never achieve that ,even the Walcott and co of this world and many white British players didn’t achieve this If he can get back to his best then he will be back in the English team ,mind you dele Alli is only 25 with about 40 caps while many 25 year old talents like Jarrod Bowen haven’t gotten a single cap yet 11 Likes |

yinkeys:I laugh you in Spanish if there is any player to regret not playing for us certainly won't be dele Ali as he doesn't even give a damn about representing us from the onset and him not being in England Squad is due to his current from let him show consistency before December then you see if he won't make the world cup squad or not even with pundits not doubting his inclusion because he has his footprint in the national team 1 Like |

Astrid4: Rohr wasn't the one that brought Simon to the team. it waa Oliseh. Even before Rohr came in, Simon was playing well for the team.. How many goals did he even score under Rohr? That period you mentioned was when Rohr was still playing with some boldness until he wet full conservative and started restricting players from playing their free roles... 4 Likes |

I think you are misunderstanding Jay-Jay's comment. He's not saying they shouldn't play beautiful football but have than eyes on the main goal which is qualification. If playing ugly means we qualify so be it. Senegal didn't play sexy football they won AFCON. Egypt served us varying levels of boko haram football they got to the final and were a hair's breadth from winning the whole damn thing. Good but sensible football I think is what Okocha is advocating for. TheGoodJoe: |

[quote author=Papi85 post=110262827] Pinnick and the coaches should seize this opportunity to reach out to billing, chukwuemeka and adarabioyo as well. Solanke so far is the best striker in the English championship with 19 goals in 30 games so far but currently we hv a lot of strikers doing decently well in Europe so getting him on board won’t really he necessary Adarabioyo if lured will be a perfect replacement for aging balogun who may retire from the team after the World Cup of the team qualifies Billing hv been a colossus in the heart of midfield for promotion hopefuls Bournemouth and bringing him on board will add to our lean midfield options. Naturally a CM/Box2box midfielder who can as well be deployed as a dm if need be Imagine having ndidi,Onyeka, billing, eze, iwobi, aribo, bonke as our midfield options at the World Cup whereas the likes of alhassan, onyedika and Rennes ugochukwu will also be on the corner waiting for a chances to sneak into the team In defence ekong, akpoguma, aina, omeruo, adarabioyo, zaidu, balogun, awaziem, bassey Forwards osimehn,Dennis, lookman, iheanacho, chukwueze, Simon, sadiq, awoniyi and maybe kalu if he finds his mojo back With this crop of players and good tactics and coaching the team will likely make a statement at the next World Cup atleast getting tot he 2nd round [/opals! Bleep Billing tbh. If he's not a creative midfielder, i no wan hear him name. |

chrisooblog: That is what I am critical of. As soon as you start thinking of equating playing ugly to winning, you set the team for a decline. Our aim is to keep improving as a team. Improving in how well we play and create chances. Not thinking of how to play ugly to win. There is no guarantee playing ugly will make us win. The most dominant sides in football today play a refreshing brand of football. If our aim is to win, our best bet is to keep improving in our play. Not to play ugly hoping to win. I disagree with the legend on this. 2 Likes |

Playing good football in the long run especially when you have the tools is the way to go especially in league competition but when you're playing tournament or one of matches omo practicality overrides sexiness all day. If we're leading Ghana 1-0 in Cape Coast with one minute to go na to carry ball go corner flag and waste time not to be playing open game because I want to show 'refrshing brand of attacking football'. chrisooblog: That is game management. It is totally different from going into the game with a mindset to play ugly. The mindset should be how to be dominant and create chances. How to press effectively. How to build up in a tidy way. How to attack spaces. How to cause the defense problems. This gives us the best chance to win and that is the benefit of the so-called beautiful football. Ugliness wins sometimes and then people make noise about it. But, go and look at trophy shelves, from clubs to National teams. The best playing sides always have more trophies. Ugliness has less chance of winning. So why should we adopt that? 1 Like 1 Share |

Zanistico: First attempt in 2016 not 2022 Ewu hausa. No one is doubting that egu did a fantastic job 16 years ago, we’re referring to the atrocious result that occurred in 2022 (our worst in 40 years) considering that idiots like you were critical of Rohr 3rd place, it’s quite ignorant how you’re mute at a 15th place result. I just dey wait until March. If result doesn’t go our way, you guys go hear am for here 2 Likes |

andrewbaba44: I would agree with that for now. When your team is not performing you also carry some of that negativity as well. Ovie missed 8 games due to Injury in that time his club has slipped into relegation. Add to that he is contractually stuck with Reading FC. Much more so because they have a transfer embargo for past 2/3 seasons. Thier Finances are in dire straights and fallen foul of the FA rules on financial viability. He has slipped down just as his team have lost Thier way. He has had a few good moments but not consistently enough IMO. He is a very key player for Reading and he has to find a way to make it work. However, if they get relegated they will probably sell him to another Championship or EPL club. Nonetheless, Olise and Eze are different types of player to him. He is more of a box to box Midfielder that works hard and gets the team going. |
