Hello, I have to come to Nairaland because of the new UK carer visa.. I have always loved the Uk.

I have a knowledge in the health sector as I graduate as a dental nurse some years back, do I still need a caregiver experience despite finishing in the health sector ?

And also , I don’t have IELTS , can I find myself a sponsor before doing IELTS or I have to do the English exam before finding a sponsor , thanks !

Please can anyone reply ?

Visa alert!!
Got an email and text message from TLScontact yesterday (15/2/2022) that my visa is ready for collection.

I got my passport with a stamp from TLScontact today..

However, my wife's and children's visas not yet ready. I applied for everyone at the same time..
I don't know how long this may likely take..
Congratulations to you, Famocious!cheesy I love your timeline.cheesy

Guys, this visa category is very serious. One care home was featured on tonight’s BBC news where the manager was complaining about how they are struggling with staff. To add salt to injury, some of their already existing staff left due to the covid vaccine controversies. I’m here to tell you things based on my observation:

1. You can actually get a sponsorship without
doing the NVQ training but it is added advantage and can make you stand out.

2. Be fully vaccinated with COVID vaccine especially, hepatitis B vaccination too if u can.

3. Package your CV and write a strong cover letter to support the CV. Give to someone with recruiting/care experience to peruse for you.

4. Research, watch YouTube videos on a day in the life of health care assistant to understand what it takes and decide if it is for you.

5. Familiarise yourself with the uk sponsorship list and go from company to company to check their vacancies and career page on their website.

6. Make minimum of 5-10 applications daily and be ready to accept rejection mails as motivation to keep applying.

7. Invitation for interview is a step closer to landing that job and migrating to the UK. This is where step 4 will become even more relevant.

8. Goodluck and keep the faith up

Y’all stay jiggy grin

Because of the series of rejections i stopped applying since 2nd of February. I don't even check their emails again when i get email notifications from NHS. But i just opened one yesterday and it's an invitation for interview.

I've really suffered trying to apply. I almost developed Blood pressure, you know. I don't want this first interview to pass me by. I want to prepare the very best way i can.

The main question is how i can get them to switch from physical interviews to online interviews.

Thanks in anticipation

Simply reply them that you are not resident in the UK and would appreciate if you can be scheduled for an online interview.

A number would normally be attached to the email for further enquiries. Call the recruitment team to ask for a virtual interview. It’s 2 sides of a coin (head or tail)

Good morning all.

I started applying for jobs since 19th of January this year. After series of Rejections, totalling more than 20. I was finally invited for an interview on the 9th of March. The email was sent yesterday the 16th of February in the afternoon but I'm just seeing it this morning the 17th of February.

However, there's no where they mentioned it will be done online. They only provided the physical address of the establishment. Though i have accepted the interview appointment, I don't know how I'm going to do this interview in the UK when I'm in Nigeria.

During the application process, i told them I'm in Nigeria and will be needing a sponsorship to come to the UK.

Please experienced gurus in the house, what do i do please?
Hello, Ifesinachi. Congrats on your interview invite. First, I'd like to encourage you, and everyone else, to not relent in checking your emails as well as spam folder. Sometimes, good things come when we might've given up.
Regarding your interview invite, you can reply the mail and politely request an interview on MS Teams. If the email address is one that doesn't allow replies, you can go back to that particular job's details / job description and look for the email contact of the organization and send your request to them. Cheers.cheesy

YES. Your right. A number is attached there, but no email. Since I've written the same email that invited me for the interview, i will wait till the end of today, if they did not reply, i will call the recruitment team tomorrow.

Thanks. I really appreciate

Yes, it is called the sponsorship route.
It is meant for doctors with additional degrees that are equivalent to MRCP.

Examples of this route are MTI (Medical training initiative), International Senior Clinical Fellowship. Instead of taking Plab, the employer would provide the employee with a conditional job offer a letter of sponsorship that would be submitted to GMC for registration and licence to practise in the UK.

Hello, house,
If somebody without a formal health-related qualification manages to secure a caregiver job in the UK, are there Nursing colleges or other institutions where one can professionalize and become a qualified nurse.
Are there nursing schools (or equivalent colleges) that one can attend while working? I think this will be very crucial for all people who want to change careers to health care permanently.
Any suggestion of such schools/colleges in the UK?

Try other councils like Shetland, Orkney or Western Isles if you're in Scotland and don't mind relocating.

I personally like the High Lands because of the University of the Highlands and islands.

I personally prefer Scotland. Personal reasons.

Do you mind sharing their website. So i can apply

To be on the safe side, you can quickly to a diploma in any care course, you can do it online. There are some Uk recognized institutions where you can do them online. I did on alisons, I didn’t pay for the course but after the course you have to pay for the certificate. It took me one week to complete it.
I heard Florence academy is totally free. But I don’t know if they are Uk recognized. So just do any of them. Goodluck.
hello, could you please link to exact course you took on Alisons? I see a bunch of them but not sure of them. Thanks
