Lol. Baba you no come back voluntarily. You had no choice

Mind u...i had and still have options and choices. Though sometimes I tend to regret it when I see how less patriotism is appreciated in Nigeria.

You don't need to go abroad to have access to 24/7 electricity, that is old school thinking. This is 2022, 24 hrs electricity in Nigeria is not rocket science anymore.

Oh my bad,I forgot you must own a generator to have 24/7 electricity, how forgetful of me...thanks.

My old skool thinking that you shouldn't have to buy a generator to have light.

I personally requested to serve (NYSC) in d north where others find less appealing to them.
Even when I'm called to serve within Africa at anytime I choose like Liberia, S.leone and Nigeria.
I believe we lack access to good medicare and I'm obligated to render d service within my capacity.

It's a choice.

Generator in 2022? What kind of a dummy are you. It is a waste of time going back and forth with you.

bro, dont listen to these people, the truth is that rich nigerians actually do live in nigeria. they have their own estates in banana island and chevron. there is this estate in chevron where that okoronkwo billionaire lives, if you enter this estate you will think you are in beverley hills. all the houses have pools and jacuzzi and big parking for at least 10 cars, the houses are huge and scientific with many gadgets. the gates are electric and they open with buttons. all their doors open with BUTTONS. everything in the house is opened with a button. the streets in the estate is paved by german companies and there is nice trees on the side of the road. BRO DONT BELIEVE THAT NONSENSE THAT RICH MEN LIVE ABROAD. THE ONLY ONES WHO LIVE ABROAD ARE THE ONES WITH MEDICAL PROBLEMS WHO HAVE TO BE CLOSE TO THEIR ABROAD DOCTORS. THE HEALTHY ONES LIVE IN BILLION NAIRA HOUSE ESTATES IN CHEVRON LEKKI

No need for the useless long essay bro

We know that rich people live in Nigeria

The same rich people that go abroad for medical treatment that common homeless man abroad can get.

Patriotism ? Is that the legacy you intend to leave for your children and grand children. undecided

Well, I don't regret it. Though I'm on int'l employment status plus int'l voluntary setting and I'm sure I have more than such opportunities (that's if we say they are opportunities in d first place).
If Indians can make sacrifices in d past which today placed their medicare among d best and affordable in d world, so why can't we?

It's my choice anyways and i owe nobody any explanation to that.

I said it, yhu just confirmed my point. Yhu are the dumbest thing I've ever come across.

I will just leave yhu in yhur mud of ignorance......I see how low and slow yhu are now.

Everyone here understands the context we are talking from, except a blockhead like yhu.

People who have properties both home and outside their home countries but have almost all their families outside and spend more time over there and will choose to stay away from home at anytime, yhu are here running yhur mouth......

As a matter of fact, yhu are already died in yhur ignorance.

wee you keep kwayet and stop running your mouth. rich people do not live abroad. rich people love power, there is no power abroad. rich people love using their money to get free access but abroad nobody cares about your money. so these rich guys dont like living abroad. living abroad is for poor people who cant get the comforts of life they want in nigeria but abroad they get it at a cheaper more affordable price. but for rich people ? they can afford all the luxuries in naija so they are not going abroad for luxuries. go to a rich mans house in naija electricity and AC is running 24 7. they have solar energy as well as these extra HUGEEEEEEE mikano generators and they are never out of power. theree estates have tarred road and looks like beverley hills. they have police escorts ( they cant have that abroad ) and they have all the money to bully people around in naija ( you cant bully anyone abroad with money ). so why would a rich man want to live where he has no power ? SEE THE PROBLEM HERE IS YOU ARE USING YOUR POOR MAN MENTALITY AND OUTLOOK TO JUDGE A RICH MANS ACTIONS. and in that you are wrong. to you who is suffering you see abroad like heaven. to these rich men ? abroad is a medical trip. THATS IT. THEIR DOCTORS ARE ABROAD. NOTHING ELSE. so please stop thinking like a poor man

You are not Far from the Truth.
You did justice to the discussion.
But in terms of access to quality HEALTHCARE services, provided your feet are in America, be it a peasant or Bill Gates, you will definitely have access to the best treatment.

But in Nigeria even some Local Government chairmen can't afford their treatments, some professors can't foot the bills for cancer treatment in Nigeria not to talk of abroad.
In dire Emergencies most Governors, senators & elites are flown back to same America where American peasants have unrestricted access to the best healthcare treatment.

This is a huge reason, one should strive to have papers in America even if you intend to relocate home. Their aggressiveness towards cancer treatment is epic.
American peasants don't have unrestricted access to the best healthcare treatment that is a big fat lie.

24/7 electricity should be a must for all citizens for any country, its despicable that only a handful of rich Nigerians who can afford to live in estates have access to it.

The guy boasting that he has electricity at all times was have ran to filling station ro refuel his generator that's why he hasn't replied me yet.

When you come abroad, you gotta be willing to fight to the end.
Abroad will take a lot of resilience

If Nigeria is bad, and very terrible to live in. Why is it bad? what makes it bad,
is it the climate, the people, the leaders or it has ran out of goodluck.

I am a Nigerian living abroad. I feel we should try to find a little solution to this if possible.

And here is my solution.

Education has failed the average man. The best way to live is to find solutions to problems and that's what God did by giving us soil.
Let's go back to farming

Some might say it does not work, etc. What's the issue, is it Fertilizers, etc
Let's research natural fertilizers, and cost-effective ways of going about farming

If the issue is people frustrating the country, why did you guys vote for Buhari during the last election?
A lot of people sang praise of Buhari, without even getting paid for doing so.
If you made a mistake of voting him in first term, why did you vote him again.
This guys are taking us for a ride, and we give them respect.

Maybe Nigerians respect the wrong people.

In summary, lets reducate ourselves, leave the city and do much farming.
Those who love Information technology should focus on that
We gat to disrupt the current systems of 9 to 5 mentality.

not for nigerians. nigerians will sabotage it. they will steal the cable or the transformer or whatever they can steal. if you can afford it you go into an estate with 24 7 light where they protect their facilities and maintain it. but to do it for all 200 million ? some area boys will go and steal the transformer or cables cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Upper class anywhere in the world don't live abroad. They can afford to be anywhere...monaco, Singapore, ascott, Beverly hills, Dubai. Just name it.
It's not just Nigerian millionaires. Globally, millionaires' loyalty lies with their wealth and not any location. They can't be tied down, they've gone past that stage.
It's the middle class that relocate permanently and that should be the focus of this discussion.
My advice is simple. If u are upper middle class and have a good job in Nigeria and it's stable, u should think twice b4 jumping overseas. Except u are a professional, your personal standard of living will significantly drop when u start living in western nations esp if u are the kind of person not use to hard work or use to easy sweet money.
Abroad is not for everyone. It takes grit and hard work to make a breakthrough. Its definitely not for lazy people.

Some will, some won't.

Na so life be. One doesn't invalidate the other. We forget some people went there to hustle, after achieving what ever it is they went there fore they come back HOME!

I know of one baba that said he is done, he must not die there, moved to the village built a house and lives there thankfully the village is safe and quiet.

Baba is 84 now the same age with Obasanjo, has grand kids and great grand kids abroad he is just waiting for death.

Some people have truly lived LIFE.

Well said bro!
You have sense!
Some from the Western Countries told me recently that they are not building those houses in Nigeria for fun,as they intend to retired home- they hate Elderly Homes abroad!
Do you know that most of our Ministers, Governors, etc were once living abroad!!

my life is comfortable enough. mind you i have lived in the usa and the uk and my life was never comfortable in those countries. its just too many bills and so i am never settled. but in africa and naija ? its a more peaceful life. it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it. cut your coat according to your size. in nigeria you can rent a place for 200k a year. in the uk you cant even rent a place for 200k naira a week. grin grin
