drDoom3: You see most homegrown Nigerian footballers are poorly coached. Our football system does not care about coaching and it is very important. When they get to Europe it becomes obvious. You can't just survive on your raw talent alone. We need to declare a coaching emergency in Nigeria. Most Nigerian coaches probably don't teach their payers even the simple and basic things. 5 Likes |

Aribo played like an elite KDB today. Two assists, he was behind every Rangers attack. Bassey is head and shoulders above every CB we have. Pace, strength, awareness, positioning, good on the ball. He has everything needed. 9 Likes |

drDoom3: After qualification, we really need to give bassey a chance at a friendly game because in the long run, I prefer him to even ekong and balogun. We just can’t use him in an all important game vs Ghana 2 Likes |

13large:bassey deserves to be in the super eagles team currently even as a cover for any of balogun, ekong or the left back position Dude is a beast in the making and in no distant time will head to a much bigger league |

charlesemeka85: Bassey needs to at least be on the bench .. he is not for the future he is for now and today.. If someone like you had seen Mes:si or c.ronaldo or Pele you'll have said his one for the future and their talent will go to waste.. 1 Like |

charlesemeka85: They’re all at backwater league sha. If we intend on winning a World Cup, we need our best players at the best league in the world playing week in and out. Koulibaly could be their mentor. What about akpoguma? He is playing at the bundesliga |

13large:koulibaly started from Belgium before moving to Napoli and became a household name in world football There is still possibilities that those I mention may turn out to star in bigger leagues and clubs in Europe judging by the case that they re still young and emerging talents especially bassey and ozonwafor |

Philosopher1979: Has nothing to do with homegrown players he has been playing in Europe for years and should already know this things unless they're not telling him since most Europeans don't know how to relate to Africans. You don't have to abuse or be condescending to someone or a group of people just to make your point. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by 13large: 9:55pm On Feb 17, 2022 |
charlesemeka85: Yes, until then, we can only hope they become world class. The level of a player club is very important in measuring his capabilities as a player. For example, as bad as ekong is being criticized playing at the Epl, if you put him at the Scottish, psl or Belgium league, he would be one of the best players at those leagues. Let bassey come to a big 3 in order to access his ability |

codemaniacs: At the expense of who? Remember, a team can only invite 11, 23 or 28 man squad. Dessers, yes but the remaining absolutely No. let them perform at a better league before thinking of the super eagles. Super eagles is a place for the absolute best - No exceptions. We’re not here to do charitable invitation 1 Like |

charlesemeka85: Just before he left Swansea he turned down multiple offers in the EPL. He was on near £90k a week in the Championship with Swansea after they got relegated from the EPL. He is now getting possibly an even bigger in payout in Quatar. His quality has not dropped even if the league he is playing has. |

13large:so we have to wait for him to make the big leap to a bigger league before he will be considered good enough for the super eagles? For your info he is already scouted by Westham and their is possibilities he will make the move in the summer with other epl teams interested. For his age and judging by where he joined rangers from (Leicester’s 2nd team) he has made a lot of progress already with more to come going forward |
