Two things are equivalent does not mean they are the same. Mbbs and BDS are equal in perspective but not the same in practice. Life is bigger than all these arguments. Just respect the next person and the world will be a better. 1 Like |

sgtponzihater1:Beyond your many lies and the number of times you have been exposed, you still shamelessly mention "probity" and "uprightness"? Virtues which the totality of your existence are a direct antithesis of. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. |

horpeyemmi66: Exposed for stealing, killing or doing what? I have saved many of their fortune, back in the days, and I still get good wishes for that. I have made indiscretions in life, like every other person, but never allowed this affect my sense of judgement and sense of truth and justice. My personal philosophy may differ from yours, but I have a right to my belief without being discriminated against. I stand always for truth, equity and justice and this pitches me constantly against the army of "yes men" that hover the world. Patients are the number 1 priority for healthcare workers, and our personal agenda and relationships should never becloud our sense of judgement. |

Froshchuksswart: If at 400l you consider yourself enlightened by using unprintable words against those far ahead of you, then I fear for you. Men, including myself, have forged over and beyond but consider ourselves still voyagers and press on in utmost humility and sincerity of purpose, and will never speak against those above us. It's the social media frenzy I guess, that makes us curse out at people who seem to give a different opinion. So I pardon you. I still wish you the best for the future, and bless rather than curse you. May life be fair to you . Over and out |

Froshchuksswart:At first, I was wondering why a health professional would be so misinformed about the medical practice, until I found out that he actually studied finance in school and he has nothing to do with health... The guy knows nothing about the subject matter (he thinks he does)... He doesn't know, and he doesn't want to learn. It's just like discussing space science with a banker... He claims to know about the subject matter because he did Logic and critical thinking in part 1 General studies... Funny enough, his age mates who are professionals in the medical field would just read his post and laugh... They don't have his time... It is us that are still in training that waste our time trying to enlighten him... As for me, I've given up on him, mek I no loose focus... 3 Likes |

Maid007: A dentist is a dentist/dental surgeon at best, and A medical doctor is an MBBS/MBMbch/MD graduate. Easy peasy! I don't need a professorship to work this piece of info out. No need massaging anybodies ego. What I do agree is they are both pretigous courses, with a lot of respect attached to them. Medicine is probably the more stressful and carries the highest regard With maxillofacial the closest bridge to the 2 courses. But all professionals to their lane. Best wishes |

Froshchuksswart: And I am not wrong in my post wise one. May your lack of insight not catch up with you. If Dentists were Medical Doctors, you wouldn't be cursing your elders all over social media. Medical Doctors are trained to be noble and show a lot of restraint. All the best in your Dental practice. |

There is MDCN. It's Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. This is because it has the Medical side of things and the Dental side of things. In future I imagine Medical council separating from Dental Council like it is in most advanced climes. A medical Doctor must be a MBBS holder, and a Dental Surgeon must have BDS. There are no in-betweens. The only other way is in certain Countries where Dentist have to return to study Medicine before specialising in Maxillofacial surgery. And MBBS doctors have to study Dentistry to do the same. PonziHater |

sgtponzihater1:And a dental surgeon is a native doctor abii? Has any dental surgeon ever claimed that his course of study is MBBS and not BDS before? Suit your self. I have so much to cover, and this discussion is just a distraction... "With maxillofacial the closest bridge"? U would just go on Google and be assimilating half baked information...What do u know about maxillofacial? If e sure for u, come and do a second degree in any of them... Lol Good day... 2 Likes |

horpeyemmi66:He is just naive... I remember a case where a dental therapist went to handle a procedure in place of a dental surgeon... In the course of the procedure, the patient unfortunately died... So, the therapist's error didn't just affect the patients mouth, it affected the whole body... The story went viral that year 1 Like |

Maid007: I remember the case where a Dentist whose license was withdrawn for administering chemotherapy. The patient did not die, yet MDCN withdrew his license from working beyond his level of training, as he was parading as a Medical Doctor. Any MBBS Doctor can work in any medical specialty as a Junior or middle grade Doctor, but a Dentist cannot work as a Junior in OnG, paediatric, ENT, ortho etc, because he does not have the training of a medical Doctor. A medically trained person has the fluidity to work in any Medical specialty he wishes, But a Dentist does not All the best. |

horpeyemmi66: I don't care about this story to be fair. This does not debunk the truth. A dentist can be a Doctor, if the law of the country allows it, but a Dentist is not a medical doctor. An optometrist is also a Doctor, but not a medical doctor. You know the truth, but choose the path of denial |
Re: My Medical School Experience- The Fighting Spirit by sgtponzihater1(m): 11:38pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
Quick add. I currently work part-time in an institution. They have a building called school of medicine and it caters for MBBS students, and another called School of Dentistry, it caters for Dental student. Two separate schools cannot both produce medical Doctors in the same institution. One produces medical doctors and the other dental Doctors. That's my simple message. This thread is flawed with baseless lies. This should be "my dental school experience", and it's good to go. PonziHater |

Re: My Medical School Experience- The Fighting Spirit by sgtponzihater1(m): 2:23pm On Feb 19, 2022 |
Maid007: Treating the mouth and the mouth being part of the body does not make you a medical Doctor. The podiatrist is a Doctor for the feet, but not a medical Doctor. An optometrist is Doctor for the eyes, but it does not make him a Medical Doctor. Even a chiropractor. Dentist are doctors of the mouth and oral cavity, but do not make them medical Doctors. The term medical doctor is exclusive for MBBS/MD/MBMbch graduates. |

Froshchuksswart: Funny dude. The world is moving towards evidence based practice. I have given my points with references, and you call it dumbness. Your only reference is that you are in 400l dentistry and did med/surg posting, and can differentiate between asthma and COPD. I could tutor on those 2 subjects without taking a break. No problem! Dental practice and Medical practice are 2 separate things. In one of the links I posted, a seasoned dentist stated that he is a dentist with extensive training in basic medical sciences and medicine, but is not a medical Doctor. Yet a student is all over SM bragging blindly. |

sgtponzihater1:You see, your problem is that you lie too much. Because I brought up a true life story, u now decided to concoct ur own story... The way you lie even disgusts me... Send me a link of the news where a dentist's license was withdrawn because he administered chemotherapy... Do you know that there are cancers of the oral cavity? Of course you don't know... If there is a cancer around the oral cavity, the best specialist to administer chemotherapy on that region would be dental specialist (OMF and Oral pathologist)... Chaii, u lie too much!!... Tufiakwa!! U are too shameless abeg... Subahanallah Abeg, don't quote me again sef... U are a very bad lier... And see you comparing podiatry and optometry to dental surgery... Lol... Abeg, gettat... Because your wife is a nurse, u are now feeling medically inclined...Lol... Very disgusting lier... U just lost the little respect I had for u sef... 3 Likes |

Maid007: I don't need your respect. The dentist will take care of the surgical aspect of an oral cancer, but the Oncology, who is a medical doctor, will plan the best chemotherapy regimen, and will be in charge of radiotherapy if this is required. I stand for the truth, and it drive wannabes and imposters crazy. I have big respect for health professionals, including dentists, but I am still sane enough to know that a Dentist is not a Medical Doctor, but offers oral and Dental care. |

In a less abrasive tone. There is a huge drive to recruit Dentists into the UK, and certain organisations are actively facilitating this. Of you are interested, it's time to take the opportunity, rather than wallow in this self glorification. Over and out! |
Re: My Medical School Experience- The Fighting Spirit by horpeyemmi66(m): 6:24am On Feb 23, 2022 |
sgtponzihater1:Nobody gives a hoot about your abrasive tone or the lack thereof. You're just one very silly muthervucker and one would not be too far from the truth if one concludes Dentists are the bane of your existence and that they contributed in no small way to your pervading misery. You can approach The Punch and tell them you want to be a weekly columnist and all you want to publish are your several reasons why Dentists are not Doctors and how they should be stripped of all the rights they have. Also, ensure to tell them how Dentists should be in the same league with Optometrists and Chiropractors and how you want the registrar of the MDCN to be sacked because he is a Dentist and not a Doctor. Similarly visit the Nigerian Senate and tell them to expedite the dissolution of the MDCN and NMA (constitutional amendments) as Physicians and Dental Surgeons are not supposed to be together as the latter cannot be possibly referred to as a Doctor both professionally and traditionally by a sane person. Yours is indeed a very sorry case. I expect another drivel anyways. 2 Likes |
