1.EPO is not meant to be taken by healthy people. (The only time I have seen EPO being given is in patients with chronic kidney disease...EPO is produced in the kidney and helps stimulate red blood cell production. Patients with kidney disease have to take it, or they may become anemic, especially those on dialysis).

EPO is used as a doping agent because more red cells=more oxygen carriers (rbc work by carrying oxygen)=better stamina. Surprised that sprinters take it...it was long distance runners who took it usually.

All the medals she can be stripped of...depending on how long they can establish she's being in contact with the substance provider. Remember Marion Jones, she was stripped of all her international medals and jailed too. Being a Nigerian, I pray she comes outta this not too battered.

And in this internet age, getting a job or starting a business can be difficult for her, except of course those she runs through proxy...she cannot do anything in sports again.

Last olympics in Tokyo, 20 athletes were disqualified for doping, 10 of them were Nigerians, the nearest country had just 3.That shows there is a systemic problem.Other countries have regular testing, if you dope,you won't even get to tournament.A few may slip through the countrie testing and may get caught by the olympics team testing that's where other countries have a few here and there being disqualified but Nigerians made up for half of the total number disqualified
