LASTMA and LASG Taskforce are the Biggest Extortionists you Can Imagine.

If you Visit LASTMA Yards at Sura Lagos Island & Oshodi you'll Understand.

When I went to get my Lagos State Driver's License from their Office at Oshodi,
I Saw Officials Sharing Monies Openly,
Some Wanted to Fight, Claiming Some People were Hiding Monies,
The Monies were Wrapped in Rubber Bands & Brought in Poly Bags,
They Shared and Everyone of them there got at Least N15k each.

Another Day I was their Office in Oshodi,
A Female Officer Drove in a New Toyota Venza,
They were Hailing & Congratulating her.
One Baba Said She's Serious & Hardworking.

He Said her Team Gets at Least 20 Vehicles Daily.

I Offered to Lift that Baba,
I Drove him Home,
We got Talking & he Told me Sanwo-Olu "Put Food" in their Mouths,
He Said Ambode Removed Food from their Tables.
He Said it Costs between N1.3m & N2m getting into LASTMA,
And if One is "Serious & Hardworking" you'll get Double that Amount in One Year,

He Said all of them do Daily Contribution (Ajoo)
Hardly does any Officer do Ajoo of Less than N10k Daily,
All from People's Sweat oh.

Lolzz.
I have so much free time on me and it's been affecting my body mass.
Time that if I put it on the road, would make me compete with Ant drivers. But the shitty fares and stress driving in Lagos no allow me.

Have only done 8 trips this year.

" NOTICE! NOTICE!! NOTICE!!!

Greetings our highly estimable and wonderful Co-Pilots.

Trust this message meets you well.

We the coalition of Admins of the various WhatsApp groups in Benin City have met as regards the unfavorable working conditions experienced by we drivers on Bolt platforms.

Having brainstormed together for a way forward, it was collectively agreed that;

On Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd of February 2022, All drivers on the Bolt platform should turn off their App in solidarity of TOTAL BOYCOTT so as to drive home our points which are not limited to

1. Total scrapping of the Economy class of rides.

2.Complete removal of the driver's score

3. Price review (taking consideration of the current rate of inflation in the country).

All groups are to choose their meeting points so as to avoid over crowding of a particular place.

Pending when our demands would be met, we admonish fellow drivers to seek alternative platforms to meet their daily targets.

NOTE:

It is not a force to join the total boycott of the Bolt platform but drivers who fail to comply are on their own

Remember, together we can make this work.

Oh my.....
Extortion has come to stay in lagos. The names you're mentioning gets returns from different arms on a daily. Fayinka for example is based in mushin; my area, MOT that tows abandoned vehicles are under him, same as those that drives around. Virtually all boys in my area are in 1 team or another. They control lastma activities in oshodi. As omo adugbo, me only call when I'm stuck and go my way. But I've directly told them I'd join forces in kicking them out come 2023. They'd softpedal soon because of election. But try to be very law abiding till its time to kick them out. Ambode is likely making a move to be back as Governor, probably under a diff platform. This isn't politics but politically inclined.
Drive safe and wisely .

Bolt been sending constant message. I actually stopped driving with them since a rider lied that I collected 14900 from her meanwhile her fare was 4900 and that was the exact amount I collected and they had to block me without giving the reason until I send a mail and cleared myself and I'm not sure if the rider gets penalised. Since then I face another hustle these companies and their riders are not worth it.

With the massive influx of brand new vehicles by LAGRIDE in Lagos state, there’s bound to be a drastic decrease in bolt patronage. Somehow this is a welcome development.

Are you in Lagos or you are talking based on what you read in papers ? How long can those vehicles survive with the fares of Bolt and Uber?

I

Spot on...

I checked out the requirement and it's not for just anybody.

To get a car u you first drop 1.8m and service debt of 9k perday till you complete payment...

@ Viking07.

... Let me give you an analysis, first of all, the only way the LAGRIDE cabs will survive is if they are enrolled on one single platform ( an ehailing app).... I doubt this, because, there is no new ehailing app in the offing.

... Secondly, the brand new vehicles can't survive on the ₦70-80/km template. you know why? , cost of purchase of a vehicle is universal, if it's 5,000 dollars in New York, its 5,000 dollars here too. If you check the cost of tfare in New York (Uber) to what obtains in Lagos, then you know we pay a pittance for ehailing here.

Thirdly, infrastructure and roads are shitty, save for central Lagos ( yaba, Surulere) ikoyi and Lekki axis(phase 1 and phase 2),, most inner roads in Lagos r not too motor able.

4th point, because it's government, it won't be cash and carry basis, it will be on installment plan which further makes it hard to manage as a business entity.
Fashola's regime bought corrollas and other brands of vehicles for taxis, where are those vehicles now?

If Primero ( as organised as they are) with the advantage of monopoly bestowed on them( BRT. Lane) can still owe Petrocam over 50 million naira in backlog payments for fuel, then, you should know how challenging its going to be.

LAGRIDE doesn't stand a chance to compete with Uber or Bolt.
You confirmed my first point. It's bound to fail cos it's on installment.
Which single individual in Lagos will willingly put down a deposit of 1.8mil for a BRANDED car, ( you know how people view cab driving as a profession in Lagos)

Just a big waste of money...I am sure they will end up allocating it to their political loyalist as employment creation ...the fact that it's pool car type of design makes it a no brainer...

Are you saying, if you don't accept trips, you won't be penalized,? cos it's not clearly stated there Then what do they mean by acceptance rate?

In summary, this recent change in our quality system will lead to increased value for drivers compared to the previous system. As with any change, there may be teething challenges. We are taking note of the feedback from drivers and will continue to improve the system further.

We hope the tips above will help you maintain an optimal driver score, deliver the best service and continue to earn more with Bolt.

Let’s Move!

With regards,

The Bolt Team

Drawing the cart before the horse. This communication gap should have been breached much more earlier. No notice of app update, no memo, drivers just woke up to find a new system of doing things.

Drivers are your tools. Without DRIVERS, BOLT is nothing. Just a piece of code. We both need each other. There is no need for contempt,no need for subtle threats.
You can't unilaterally command people to do your bidding when they are not on your payroll.
Some drivers have been wholeheartedly committed to the platform for over 3 years. You can't just dismiss such group of people by a wave of hand.

I guess you are seeing clearly why I don't really fancy Bolt again. I've done 3k trips on Bolt, but they will just block drivers without any warning. Even mock drivers with wait for 10 years, not funny atall.

Saw the influx of Lagride this morning, my heart skip for a bit. On the second tot, the sky is big enough for all birds to fly. Using GAC cars for ehailing? The maintenance won't be here.
