Lafia Airport is a proposed airport development project service the city of Lafia, nearly 200km Southeast of Abuja. The project is expected to be funded and undertaken as a private-public partnership with Tongyi Group. According to Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the state government will contribute 25% of the funds, whilst the Chinese firm will provide the remaining 75%.
