After escaping from the NwaBoi apprenticeship asylum, I wanted to head back to school; but since I wasn't paid a penny - and it's been a long time I left school. I'm dropping the idea.

Op, why don't you study music instead. You know, wth your talent you can achieve two things at the same time; a degree and your music career. With the knowledge you will obtain from the university, you can direct your passion to become the very best in your field. Because, by then, you will not only be a talented musician, but also an authority in this field, which is an advantage to you. Except, you studied sciences in secondary school.

Once you start year one, your passion will make ways for you. Scholarship will come, if you're as good as promise, then money will not be your problem.

1) Enrol into any higher instution preferably a University, Choose a course that won't be demanding like Sociology or Education courses
2) still engage in your music career, make friends, befriends music students, visit campus music facilities and learn one or 2
3) find other students with like mind, you can form a band group, attend campus competition, drop campus singles, Use campus radio station.
4) you just said you don't have money, campus will help your career with least available capital, it will give you good friendships and networking and finally it will give you a degree just in case... Because later in life you will realize that as you de reason am now no be so E be....

If you have a talent for programming then that's definitely the way to go. Nothing in this world comes free, even this music "business" that you seek to venture into will require a long period of financial investment before seeing any returns, that's assuming that you ever get anything out of it(The probability of failure in this line is almost 100% and the history of this business is littered with mountains of the corpses of young people who knew that they would eventually shine in music, invested much money and years of their lives to realize their dreams only to turn up failures with absolutely nothing to show for all their efforts).

Your writing is good and you spell well. Don't waste this on music. The music industry is tough. I am talking from the experience of my elder brother who wasted his years doing music...

Please hustle and buy a laptop, go to Udemy.com and find a skill that you can learn. You might become the best UX designer or Best programmer making $70k per year, who knows, you might even be a great copywriter going by the way you write...

music in Nigeria should a side thing... and never embark on it without other skills that can fetch you good money. When you have good money flowing in for instance, you can use it to test the music and see where it goes from there.

You are about to make a monumental decision that will go a long way in defining your life. I will advise you to learn a high income skill since you stated that you do not have sponsors to bankroll your education.
The Music of a thing requires a huge amount of money, connection and dedication to make a breakthrough in the ever-saturated and volatile industry.
My 2cents;
(1) Acquire high income skills.
(2) Start your Music Career as a side hustle.
(3) If you don't make a breakthrough in the next five years, quit music, get yourself quality education and and probably start a business.

Well,...don't do hardcore rap sha and even if u Wana do,your beat must be out of this world (international standard)..Use afrobeats and flow like drake on it,bass and tempo must touch the soul,lyrics must be tight,cos people will be listening and taking note,the Sound fusion's Gona be something peculiar,even Superboy cheque still uses the normal trap pattern,...use afrobeats and a touch of international hiphop flavours, underground trap sounds and all....When you do any dope song or freestyle,post on SoundCloud...it will cost u though,but with consistency,someone will find u and sign you locally or internationally..And when you blow, struggle levels will be history in mins...But still get back to education,either by class or by knowledge... wink

but he said he cant afford it..its not a must to go tru university..with the way he writes he is already educated.u can graduate from a uni and still not be educated..i have seen many..those papers right now are useless...if u dont have the connect oga its useless..not all of us want to end up as teachers collecting peanults..some of us have aspirations.note..u cant have free mollions in ur acct via salaries its slavery and u dont want to be there

but u dey laugh graduates way nerver see work after 15 years...life na choice follow ur heart ..but believe..my classmate eld bro ..as in bros find work tire..as graduates no work.the only available option he had was for him to apply as a junior staff without cert..my bro for over 13 years he has not been able to convert to senior cadre..if i see bros they struggle wiith keke tears they drop for my eyes..i am not mocking him..but not everone are fortunate..its a pitty..
