Let me be very truthful to you, this kind of deal might not end well if a family member of yours is not involved.

Forget about all those trackers, they will be disabled.
Thank you for your honest input, I Only got my mum and the little girl staying with her. Other family (extended family members are worf in sheep's clothing, let me not mention how much of techs i will use to secure the car. But i will surely do my due diligence.

If the persons are honest with the business, Then i will open more access of things for them, this is just appetizer.

Take this as my window's mite, this path you want to tow won't end well.

Like you said that your family members are not trustworthy, how else do you want to trust total strangers.
Vehicle owners that are physically available find it hard with some drivers now how hard do you think it would be for someone far away.
The drivers knowing you are far away gives them more leverage to do more harm before you get to know.

And like I said, all trackers can be disabled.

You also check the screenshot attached and I pray this won't be your situation.

That is heartless of that person.
But i planned putting a person in charge of where they are currently building plaza for me in lagos, to be checking out updates of the vehicles for me while the drivers are using it, i intended to ship not more than 5 cars, One Venza, Two Camrys and Two Corollas, As i,m made to understand 4 engines plug are much better for the business, i might scrapped the Venza entirely and go for 3 corollas.
In the morning time i will know if i should include venza or not.

I'd actually wanted to advise Mr BritishNaija about this, but since it's just the mom and a little girl with her, that are here, I think he should work with the regulars/old timers here.

Is driving Bolt still profitable sef with their low fares and 26% commission?

I feel like I’m driving for bolt and petrol.

Look at the screenshot of my day’s earnings.

First their commission today was 25.7%, imagine!

Then I used like 3k worth of fuel today, including some errands but mainly bolt.

When you subtract petrol money of 3k, all that’s left is like 1k after how many hours on the road.

Can a high earner break down their own daily earnings? Let’s learn from them as well.

Dashboard is just a mirage men!

Bolt is fraudulent and not transparent in their calculations, sometimes I just feel like someone is manipulating the figures from their backend .. but then, 3k fuel should gross you like 10k .....

Bolt is just too cheap for riders and their charges on drivers are high.
The most annoying is the promo they give riders. I don't know if they truly compensate drivers for the promo they give riders.

I picked these tech young lads from lawani street, off University Road to Gbenga adeyinka 1st at lekki, it came to 3100, rider to pay 2k or so.

Another short trip of 800. Rider to pay 400. Rider asked for change ₦100. I didn't have. She had to buy bottle water, to give 400.

I checked the fuel I bought today, with the money I made and subtracted charges, Omo, it didn't make sense to me at all.

For the new app it will be around 10%, major issue is the govt taxes

Lolz...u never even launch am, u don dey think of how much Commission u go collect.
If u get power like Bolt na 30% u go collect.
Don't think of the commission yet, provide value first, money will follow.

Honestly! Some days it’s 26% commission, some days it’s 25.something%...

I don’t know how the fuel finished sha, maybe cause of my errands, but they were short errands unless I underestimated.

Anyways, it all just seems pointless sometimes.

I will try again tomorrow or next with 2k petrol and no errands, let’s see just how far it will take me.

Imagine if bolt took only 10% commission from the 5,700. At least I would have room to breathe, but no, they must swallow 26%.

The fares are too low and the commission is too high. Maybe it would work if one is doing back to back to back trips, but when you do a 900 naira trip of 6km, how much did you really make?

900 - 25% commission = 675.

Average fuel economy for these cars, let’s say, 12km/100 L, so 1L would take you 8km, so let’s round up to say you spent 1L on the 6km trip.

675 - 165 = 510.

Then if you don’t find another trip before you get back to the point of origin, that’s another 1L

So 510 - 165 = 345.

So true profit is N345.

I passed through bad roads, hand to endure a stranger in my car, had to be alert and follow all road rules, had to avoid bashing my car and other people cars, and all I get from that trip is N345; Barely 2 packs of hungry man sized indomie.

It’s weird abeg!

It was different in December when there was surge all the time. Left to me, that surge pricing should be the regular pricing.

This move by Uber is what we call retention strategy...they must have experienced increased patronage from drivers this period of bolt driver score wahala...so they are giving drivers reasons to stay put. The reason why Uber cant start showing destination is just because its a global practice...if not, them for just kill bolt totally by start showing where riders are heading to.

Showing Destination isnt an issue, cos u can call Rider and ask where they are going.

What spoilt Uber was not being able to cancel until u arrive at PU, waiting time will not count until u arrive at PU, punishment for cancellations and not picking trips, 25% commission and indiscriminate blocking of Drivers.

Secondly, they have destination displayed in other parts of the world so It's not a company wide global policy.

Haha, N400! Better find change bros!

I get those N400 trips steady, and it always hits me like a hammer when I end the trip, and I see N400. I’m still smiling to the rider, but inside I’m like no way, no way, after all this? God whhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Anyways, they do compensate you on your balance sha, so it’s still your money.

The riders are really enjoying sha, so you enter car that I have washed and sprayed with the finest Arabian perfumes, AC chilling and you are all alone in the ride, no other passengers but you, controlling me like remote, “on your ac, maximum”, “turn your radio off”, “turn here instead”... then you drop and pay N400, N400, chai!

I want to invest on Uber, money will be remmitted into my mum's account as this i'm doing without me having to be sending money down from Uk to Nigeria all the time.

Last year it caused me embarrassment from me not able to send her money due to cbn restricting the easy method i use, like through luno exchange to my naira account then to mum.

So i want to invest in Uber and i need drivers, i must please, i can import camrys or venzas for it, not that i want a neck killimg profits, i just want inflow of money for mum, so i do not have to be worried offshores where i'm always at work.

And please i will demand security deposit , not that i need this, but to be sure the person is ready before i ship vehicles over.
I will rig my vehicles with trackers and vicinity hindrance softwares just in case.

Each vehicle i imported, driver can keep it after making 50% profits from the purchase price and custom duties and shipping dues paid.

Camry or venza i will mostly import , price(including shipping and dues) of it with shipping will not be up 3million from here for the camry (spider), and the venza will not be above 5million because i'm getting it from company i have JV with for their first used official vehicles.

Thank you and that my proposal, Business is all about risk, But anyone that is honest with me, i will extend it above the Uber contract, i need peace of mind and not oga tire burst.

why not ship in the cars and sell outright, since you're not looking for much profit?
