Nigerians living in Ukraine cried out through social media after Russia attacked Ukrainian cities early on Thursday morning.
They claimed the Nigerian embassy in Ukraine had earlier given them assurances to be calm that nothing was going to happen.

On the contrary, they started hearing explosions and gunshots today and they no longer feel safe.

They were able to make it to the train station but they are now stranded as many people are attempting to leave the city at once.

As usual na assurance dem go give them and you want me to take this country serious again. They better find their way to safety or possibly back here, waiting for this government to act is like waiting for eternity. Everytime I assure you I assure you yet what is happening is still happening. You guys should in one mind think of a surest way out as simple as that.

This war has been coming for weeks now. Almost all countries have already told their citizens to evacuate.... What were they still doing there?

They should carry guns and join Ukrainian soldiers to defend their cities. It's as simple as that since they didn't have common sense to leave the country as soon as they saw Russian tanks in Ukraine border since last week. They were banking on Nigerian embassy's assurance, what a stupid people.

Most of them are students, imagine yourself as one of them, where would you go without state support except hope Russia doesn't make good their threat?

Warnings about Russia invading Ukraine has been going on for several weeks.. u guys had lots of time to leave that country, at least for the time being..

many countries advised their citizens to leave Ukraine and most of these warnings were adhered to...

But trust Nigerians and dying minute rush...same 11th hour mentality we use during, Sim registration, bvn registration, even NIN registration...

My advice to u guys is to join the Ukrainian Army

grin Naija embassy told them to remain calm, law abiding and to report any suspicious behavior. They were also urged to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation as the perpetrators will soon be brought to book.
Typical Nigerian lies have been exported to Ukraine.
