Putin has the right to defend his country. He is taking a very important proactive step to safeguard his country. if Chad decides to give ISIS or Boko Haram a base to deploy their troops and organize their attacks against Nigeria, Nigeria has the right to take every action to stop Chad. If Nigeria refuses to act, it's a sign of weakness and lack of foresight within the countrys leadership and not something to celebrate. That exactly is the thing Russia is doing. NATO was formed to term the USSR. The USSR is dead, what's NATO still doing positioning herself within a striking distance to Russia? Ukraine got herself into this mess by deciding to join a military group that represents her neighbors worse enemies
your illustrations doest tally with the current situation at all. Putin has no right to invade a sovereign state. If his country is threatened then it should be within its own boarder. This isn't the right way to safeguard his country it will only escalate matters.

In summary Putin has no better motive..
He's a very foolish man. I wonder why people even hail him. Very foolish and predictable.

If he wanted global influence, he would have kept Russia on the part of industrialization and maintained the country's democracy. Democracy is not a western thing. It is about involving the people you govern. He has missed it and any influence Russia ever had, they'll lose it badly.

He should sit down so that America will school him. To invade a sovereign country, there must be sellable reasons to do so. And you must have the support of the citizens majority. Military is the last step towards tilting a country, not the first step.

Let's see how he will take over Ukraine with almost the entire country and most of the world against him. The worst he can do is to bomb the country till their military is degraded. If he sends ground troops, they'll die in numbers.

The Russian are about to relearn the same lesson they learned in Afghanistan.

With the persistent Russian invasion and support for rebels, Ukraine finally tilted toward the Atlantic bloc. In 2019, the constitution of Ukraine was amended with the addition of parts indicating the country’s imminent membership of NATO and the European Union (EU).

Putin pushed ukraine to the wall. You don't want ukraine to be puppet of West but a puppet of Russia.
There are two approaches global sociopolitical influences-economic and military approaches. NATO/US uses both approaches. Putin understands only military invasion.

There have been bombings going on there since 2014 that media chose to ignore and you don't know who is doing the bombing and if they are recently. If you don't have hearing problem, you would have heard of something about the accusation of false flags. I can bet that the bombings are done by the US deepstate. They need this war more than anything. They are even going to use chemical and biological weapon and say it's Putin. They did it in Syria and blamed Assad for it. Should Russia have abandoned his kins in the two independent nations? The other two republics too see the US as occupiers, that's exactly what the US is over in Ukraine.

Ooh so bombing and invading a sovereign country cos he said they are a threat to him is the way out?

NATO is a defensive organisation that guarantees the integrity of member nations against attack through the medium of mutual support...
How is NATO not a threat to Russia?
NATO was formed because of Soviet Union. Does the Soviet Union still exist? So why is NATO expanding and surrounding Russia? Being surrounded by NATO is a threat to Russia.

NATO means North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Is Latvia, Estonia, and all countries bordering Russia in the North Atlantic? Is Ukraine and Georgia in the North Atlantic. NATO needs to change its name to Russian Enemies Treaty Organization (RETO)

Putin simply has an expansionist agenda & would not stop until he reestablishes the Soviet Union.

NATO is a defence pact, not an aggressive one & if Russia doesn't want Ukraine joining NATO, it can do so by other means including political & economic sanctions rather than a full scale war.

Also, since the balkanisation of the SU, Russia has always threatened Ukraine, hence, Ukraine's intention to join NATO. The US & its NATO allies have never pushed Ukraine to join NATO. Putin is just power mad.

Further more, the silence of China is telling... it is watching closely. If Russia succeeds in getting Ukraine without much resistance from the West, China is going to take Taiwan & Tibet too...

The domino effect is that North Korea will invade South Korea, Pakistan will invade the disputed Kahmir region with India. Some Arab nations will attack Israel. Other smaller conflicts designed to grab more land will ensue...

That said, powers (empires) rise & fall. China seems to be the one to replace the declining dominance of the US & Russia is aware of this. But the question I always ask those who insult US is this, would you prefer to stay in an autocratic China or a democratic US?

There will be a new world order where Russia and China will be world leaders and communism will trump democracy all over the world

For no reason?
The problem here is that you are giving NATO and the West a free pass. In your mind, they're infallible. You really think the West never saw this crises coming? This crises have been brewing for over a decade. The West knows what they're doing. Russia knows what they are doing too. Russia understands Western manipulations and scheming and are basically trying to upstage them.

You have to understand how NATO works. Once you're a member of NATO, if you're attacked, all members of NATO have a duty to join hands to defend you. It means that the attackers will be facing the military arsenal of the whole of western Europe and others that are members of NATO. NATO is the biggest fighting block as at today and represents the biggest military danger to countries like Russia and China...

So what happens if Ukraine joins NATO and a president of Ukraine starts a sort of war with Russia? NATO will have to do something to defend Ukraine. That means that all of a sudden, Russia will have to fight The USA, France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain , Portugal etc. These are some of the most sophisticated militaries in the world. You're going to face them over a minor squabble with your neighbor? Right at your borders! Especially a neighbor that has ethnic Russians as her citizens too?

This is very simple. I don't know why it looks so confusing to some. Russia is trying to get Ukraine within her sphere of influence. That's what you do when you're a super power. The Americans do it, the USSR did it, China is trying to do it. If you leave your flanks open, your competitors will enter an dismantle you. If you doubt this, try to make Mexico a strategic ally of Russia or China, .. The Americans will react even more ferociously than Russia is doing today to that. During the Venezuelan crises, The US did whatever it could to make sure that Russia never had a military post in Venezuela. Yet Venezuela has no border crossings with The United States. How much more a country with land borders with the US..

The is fantastic and the main reason and the objective is "POWER CONTROL". Western Manipulation is much more than what meets the eye. Apart from the fact that the friend of my enemy is my enemy, It is likely a grand conspiracy to control Russia and its nuclear power. A hold on Ukraine will give Russian away to pressures and invasion by the Western Powers at any time, any day and this is what Putin is fighting against. Ukraine already knows this, but playing victim and forming alies with NATO is a neccessary step to achieve this.

Honestly, the plan and strategy that goes into starting a war, preventing a war or power control is much more. We really need to look at cause and effects and it can never be likened to a matter of husband and wive.

Stop talking nonsense.. Russian government wants to make Ukraine a puppet state, just like Belarus, which is currently de-facto a vassal of Moscow. In 2014, Russia captured and annexed Crimea, and invaded parts of eastern Ukraine after creating a separatist conflict there, but it is not enough, because Putin wants whole of Ukraine to be under his heel...

NATO is a military alliance created explicitly to resist the German and Soviet aggression. A lot has changed since 1949. Germany is actually now an ally and one of key NATO members. Russia however is still a threat particularly to its immediate neighbors who don’t have massive oil reserves to fund military budgets. So NATO is still a very relevant peacekeeping force in Europe...

So to answer your question, the reason why NATO has expanded and is expanding is because the applicant countries see it as a security guarantee against Russia, and to some degree, each other. Denying them membership simply based on their geographical location would defeat the very founding principle of NATO itself...
Think with your head instead of bringing your cluelessness here.

You are right in your argument but look at it this way. NATO was the reason why the USSR was dissolved. Russia being a super power is seen by NATO as still a threat. NATO want to bring all countries bordering Russia under their control,so that Russia will be staged in the middle of NATO Military base which they will build in such countries. So you see. Taiwan has always been Chinese.. Don't let Western propaganda fool you. Taiwan is not Ukraine. Taiwan is Chinese and Ukraine is not Russian. Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao reminds Russia of the enermous levels the west had to go in order to undermine her when she was weak and poor. China has got a good case to demand the return of Taiwan. The British are still in Falklands and The French controls West Africa and polenesia, yet they're the ones condemning Russia.

Democratic West? Is there anything democratic about the current world order? You live in Africa that has been more or else designated a minefield, a continent being rapaciously raped by Western multinationals and agencies and you're talking of a democratic world order? What is democratic about Nigerias politics today as is supported by the West? I think most Africans suffer the political equivalent of the Stockholm syndrome in their rabid obeisance to western dictates..

Sir when you said Stockholm syndrome, you're never mistaken.
