Don't know how true this is, but i love your analysis. I totally agree with the Chinese part. Now i see that WWIII engine has started. What do you are happening to Africa? Any conflicts? Any collaborations with the outgoing/ incoming world powers? And how do you think economic powers will change, of course outside China. I think they will be the victor of this chaos ivandragon: Putin simply has an expansionist agenda & would not stop until he reestablishes the Soviet Union.
NATO is a defence pact, not an aggressive one & if Russia doesn't want Ukraine joining NATO, it can do so by other means including political & economic sanctions rather than a full scale war.
Also, since the balkanisation of the SU, Russia has always threatened Ukraine, hence, Ukraine's intention to join NATO. The US & its NATO allies have never pushed Ukraine to join NATO. Putin is just power mad.
Further more, the silence of China is telling... it is watching closely. If Russia succeeds in getting Ukraine without much resistance from the West, China is going to take Taiwan & Tibet too...
The domino effect is that North Korea will invade South Korea, Pakistan will invade the disputed Kahmir region with India. Some Arab nations will attack Israel. Other smaller conflicts designed to grab more land will ensue...
That said, powers (empires) rise & fall. China seems to be the one to replace the declining dominance of the US & Russia is aware of this. But the question I always ask those who insult US is this, would you prefer to stay in an autocratic China or a democratic US?

Ukraine is the weakest point of Russia... They have secrets and loopholes in Ukraine! So, they will go all out to do what they feel is their own safety. But what happened shows why it's very bad for old men "Boris and Biden" to rule nations with the might to stop the attack from going into a war because they'll end up using sanctions to respond a supposed millitary response. |

So what happens if Ukraine joins NATO and a president of Ukraine starts a sort of war with Russia? NATO will have to do something to defend Ukraine. I think they will be the victor of this chaos Well, who knows what will happen next? If one should use the Prussian wars, WW 1 & 2 as an analytical base, then there is no way Africa will not be dragged directly or indirectly into the war. For one, as natural resources become scarce in the major areas of conflict, the warring nations will turn to Africa to further exploit its natural resources to fuel their war engines & economy. With that, the major powers will seek to disrupt the other from gaining a foothold in the African countries with the richest resources & this will lead to a circle of regime changes, more rebel & secessionist groups, realignment of terror groups who would suddenly enter the Good books of some nations etc... A global conflict does not bode well for Africa... but again, who knows... 2 Likes |

NATO is a military alliance created explicitly to resist the German and Soviet aggression. A lot has changed since 1949. Germany is actually now an ally and one of key NATO members. Russia however is still a threat particularly to its immediate neighbors who don’t have massive oil reserves to fund military budgets. So NATO is still a very relevant peacekeeping force in Europe...
How can NATO be created to resist German aggression in 1949 when Germany was already defeated in 1945? Why not use Google to cure your ignorance on NATO and it's formation. So to answer your question, the reason why NATO has expanded and is expanding is because the applicant countries see it as a security guarantee against Russia, and to some degree, each other. Denying them membership simply based on their geographical location would defeat the very founding principle of NATO itself... Think with your head instead of bringing your cluelessness here.
What is the founding principle of NATO? Which Russian aggression made Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic join NATO in 1999 less that 10 years after the Soviet Union and Therefore Warsaw pact broke up? Which security situation made Eastern European countries like Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia join NATO in 2004? These small country offer nothing new to NATO capabilities except providing a base close to Russia. Russia feels being chocked by the U.S. and that's why it's started to react more and more aggressively. Imagine someone who said NATO was formed created to resist aggression against Germany accusing someone of cluelessness, is that ironic? 7 Likes |

Rugaria: Very correct assessment. The aggressors are the ones playing victims now.. NATO has to explain why it wants Russias immediate neighbor as a member. Is it the same news article you read? How is NATO or Ukraine the agressor playing victim? Ukrainians decided to remove a Pro-Russian President in 2014 which angered Putin because his puppet had been removed. Putin then found excuse to annex Crimea, starting the Crimean War and thereafter sponsoring and arming separatists in Eastern Ukraine, leaving thousands of Ukrainians dead from his actions. The Russian problem apparently makes joining NATO and the EU attractive to Ukraine and Putin's response is to invade Ukraine and you now say NATO are the aggressors? When your neighbour is strategic to your safety what you do is treat him nice and be good to him. Not that you want to manipulate and threaten him to the point of fighting him. You think that would in the long run help your situation? Putin really made a big mistake that would unfold in times to come. 1 Like |

How much more a country with land borders with the US. We all understand Russia's point. But what we're saying is how come Ukraine is aligning more with NATO than with Russia? The answer is simple, Russia is simply not a good neighbour. It's more of a threatening bully and a dictatorship. There is no where it's written anywhere that superpowers must annexed smaller countries around them. Ukrainian simply don't want to be under Russia. The Cuba Missile Crisis most be are sighting, they don't have good knowledge of it. Cuba is a communist state, that's fair with the US. Cuba started fraternising with Russia, ok, not bad. Russia started building Nuclear Plants in Cuba. That was where the US had to draw the line. The US could use the opportunity to also annex Cuba , but being a democracy, how do they explain that to Americans? What we all have to understand is, if we keep saying the US did this and that in the past. Are we saying it's also right for Russia to do same? The US is not the only member of NATO. Ukraine is not joining the US but NATO. So making it about the US or being a superpower is irrational and immoral. Let's just support good against evil, what Putin is doing doesn't even enjoys Russians support I don't know why he's enjoys enjoying you peoples' or why you need to rationalize it 1 Like |

How is NATO a threat to him? NATO is a defensive organisation that guarantees the integrity of member nations against attack through the medium of mutual support...
He is not defending his country he is invading a sovereign country.. understand that? You can't defend your country by attacking another for no reason..just like torturing your wife for saying she wanna divorce you.. NATO is still necessary because it protects its members from the “confusion, instability, unpredictability” which are persistent conditions in international affairs. So NATO doesn’t need to be against any specific state or group to continue to have a very important job to do...To prevent any more annexed Crimea’s and Russian occupied Ukraine. Russia intends to further expand her borders, NATO may deter WW3... So you gotta understand that..
Stop writing NONSENSE. NATO is not a defensive organisation. They've invaded countries like Serbia and Libya before and talking about sovereignty. Is Cuba or Vietnam not a sovereign country? The west is against a multi-polar world that's why they're against Russia and China. 1 Like |
