MznAirA:
Please I need advice.
My brother renewed his passport after he has done his biometric and capturing. He applied with his wife and son(dependant) and they have been issued their visa. His passport would expire in June and because it does not cover for the duration of his stay in the UK he had to renew.
Now the issue is the embassy is saying he has cancelled the first biometric he did on the old passport and the probability of him getting the Visa is shaky right now. He also has a deadline to resume in the school by month end.
Is there anyone with experience of such and how we can handle this. He has also sent a mail to the embassy explaining why he renewed (also because of the rule in Nigeria of renewing a passport with 6months validity).

Please I need advice and guidance on how best this can be resolved

Please clarify this ..

He was issued a visa on his old passport before he renewed it?

I tried filling my dependent visa application, after completion, I was redirected to IHS which I filled but no amount was advised to pay. I was only instructed to pay visa application fee. Pls what could be the problem? @justwise

Continue with the application at some point you will be asked to pay, if you are not asked to pay and your visa comes out then carry on with your normal day to day life.

Beyond the advise given, driving in Western countries require a lot of driving school learning... Of which if you're going in a student visa, u no go get time for that long learning route before you start earning money for your upkeep and bills. Remember you've to study for your MSc as well.

Driving could pay more, but you're sure that your 50years of driving experience wouldn't give you the auto-license to start driving in the UK. So my advice is to consider quicker means to earn. A care job is auto-start and pays well too.

Please how much is the wage for care job?

Thanks for the reply.
The response of the probability being shaky came from TLS. The guy said his renewing the passport means he cancelled the biometric he did on the old one as it means he has deactivated it. So he was told he needs to send a mail to the embassy stating why he changed the passport he used to apply.

I think he should have gotten the Visa before applying just as you said only if he got the right information.

Do you have any advise as to how we can get through this.
giselle237:
there is no such rule in Nigeria. He could have gotten his visa, then applied for renewal and then travel with 2 passports. The BRP is what will carry his full visa length and not passport. Even for individuals tht apply for 6 months visa with a 5 months visa they are still given the full length on their passport irrespective of validity dates on passport.
So he cancelled his biometrics or how? I dnt understand what you mean by the embassy is saying probability is shaky. I think is best you guys continue to liase with them as they are in the best position to help you and/or guide you. I’ve not heard where embassy will say probability of visa is shaky.. they dnt even comment such way. So pls explain what u mean by biometrics was cancelled. Who cancelled it? What exactly did the embassy say

No he only did the capturing and all on the old one. Then he renewed the passport and attached the old and new together for submission to TLS for visa approval.

I have my b.sc certificate and waec certificate already.

@Fibonacci2021

I can confirm you don't have to pay to get the unconditional. Mine came in earlier in the week and all I had to do was upload the requested docs (proof of english & reference) and have my reference complete the reference mail sent to them.

Ade999:
Hello @Fibonacci2021

No I do not.

I suggest mailing them with your questions although they're quite slow in responding, if they respond at all.

Since the passport he did the biometrics was submitted , I personally don't think this is a problem. If they want to grant him visa, they will.
He should stay positive.

He would still have renewed his passport before traveling anyways.

He has not done anything wrong, there is no need to contact the embassy for anything. The TLS guy is talking nonsense

Valid travel passport
Maybe CV
Any documents to support current/previous employment
References( academic or work)

I'm also awaiting transcript but I have applied to schools using my certificate in place of transcript.
I have gotten conditional offers asking for transcript but Scotland schools have only asked for references and proof of English in the offer.
I got an unconditional offer yesterday from Edinburgh Napier after submitting my waec and a work reference as required in the conditional offer.

You have only one visa and that is what they are asking for. BRP effectively is a visa

Bronzedigger:
Hello house ... I got offers for MSC Artificial intelligence and data science at Sunderland, derby, ulster, suffolk....all September intake ...but I'm planning to settle for Suffolk because of the fees and scholarship discount which might reduce my school
fees to about £11500 or £12000.
But was required to make my offer I have to do any of the following which I'm opting for a TEST WAIVER...

IELTS (academic): 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 5.5 in all components, or a University of Suffolk approved English Language Test, or Test Waiver where eligible. Visit www.uos.ac.uk/englishtests

My questions on SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY are :
1)who is on this page with me, should kindly advice how I go about the test WAIVER

2)the initial payment and payment plan was not stated in the mail or stated in the attached file in the mail. I need to know the initial deposit as well as the payment plan.

3) I saw they offer accommodation for students 3k for a year.. people that have passed through this university or are currently enrolled there should advice if the school accommodation is a good choice for an international student, is that amount for a 12 months or a session which is 9 months, is it better to opt for accommodation in that area(outside the university) or I stick to the university accommodation

Any body going to Suffolk university or already in Suffolk university here...please I need these information

Good day everyone

Please I really need advice
I studied industrial physics and I have electrical technician skills
Working as a maintenance technician for some few years now

I intend applying for schooling in the UK
But little challenge now is the course to take and considering a low tuition fee as well

Who can help out with list of courses

I really appreciate thanks

If you don't intend on changing career path, a masters degree in your current career path is best for you. You've been working for a few years as you've said. Look for graduate degrees in your current career pathway.

I don't know if Industrial Automation and Robotics interests you but that's a very good career path for an Electrical guy. Jobs won't be a problem when you graduate.
