Hi All, New here and I just got my visa approved for travel. I wanted to ask if there's anyone who has any recent landing stories to share? I travel frequently to the US and I'm wondering if i should state that while on my trip this time i will be having my baby in the us (this will be the first child I'll likely have there) I'll appreciate any encouraging words or suggestions. also, please are there any updates on applying for US passports or Nigerian passports for the baby? Thanks Lochinny: 1 Like |

Congratulations! Send them a message to notify them. My sister in law went to give birth and was called aside with 11 other Nigerian pregnant women. 11 were deported and she was the only one who made it in because she had sent them an email notifying them of her pregnancy and intent to give birth there. The others were told they were deceitful in their applications. The same thing happened to a colleague, my bank officer and a mutual friend- mutual friend was very rude and constituted a nuisance and was slapped with a 5-year ban as well. Cover your tracks by sending that email. All the best! ariyadepot: 5 Likes 1 Share |

GAPPLE: Okay, although No. 2 is so out of the picture but the only thing that will solve this as long as the F1 or F2 are still on good standing with visa and F1 with school, the F1 should add the F2 on the school insurance and everything else will fall in place. Before you start hospital visits, make sure the insurance is active or you will end up paying out of pocket and those visits are not cheap because they involve tests and you can't "don't want to do the tests". Although F1 can have something like "Qualifying Insurance for depandents" in case of an emergency but then you don't want to wait till you give birth before you use that benefit. So in all, have the F1 add F2 on his insurance and everything will be fine. Next, "Can the baby gets all benefits after birth?" In everything both F1 and F2 want to do concerning the baby/babies till the end of F1 program, they should all ask about eligibility in relation to the parents status. Things like WIC, Food stamps, Child Care scholarship Program/ Daycare voucher etc (this is termed, been careful and thorough). Best of luck 1 Like |

GAPPLE: Everything she said is correct. F2 should get on F1s insurance if she isn’t already there. Confirm benefits before getting important tests. Kids can get benefits (they’re US citizens) but be careful to make sure only the kids gets benefits. 1 Like |

Thanks MamaOO. By this, do you mean the F2 be careful to not enjoy the benefits her visa doesn't support? MamaOO: |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by MamaOO: 8:34am On Feb 21, 2022 |
GAPPLE: Yes. Correct. USCIS isn’t really strict in that aspect (regarding adjustment of status) but I just like to err on the side of caution when dealing with anything that might eventually involve them. 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, Please does anyone know anything about birthing recently in Maryland? I went through pages and pages on this platform and got pretty good information but some of them Are far back as 2014,2017 etc. Please does it still take as long as 2 months to get birth certificate in Maryland? What are the cheapest hospital rates for Maryland in recent times? Is Virginia better In terms of cheaper hospitals and timing of collection of birth certificate? What’s the average time to get the US passport now with all this COVID buhaha 1 Like |

US passport that I applied for through post office took about 3/4 weeks standard shipping. Birth certificate, 14days I think but not up to 3weeks. You can expedite the birth certificate if you want because you need it for passport. You can use any Post office with photo service close to you for the passport. Just check and schedule appointment. For the hospital, I use Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore Downtown (St Paul's Place) 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi everyone Just a follow up on drop box. It's not so bad as some people think it is. Infact if your appoint is 8am and u get there 7:30,u would have submitted by 7:40am and woild be on your way out. And it's very very organised, thank God the u.s embassy did that on their own cos if it was DHL or it was outsourced,it would be very very crowdy Just 4 things needed, your passport containing your old visa, not less than 2yrs expired or 3 months to expiry, your confirmation page that has your appointment date and time, your DS 160,your bank receipt of payment and finally 1 recent passport photograph (U.S visa standard). Heard that it's not 2month per say, that some are already getting their passport with visa back. You dont need any document to support. The crowd for drop box is way more than normal interview o. As at 7:30am yesterday there was no queue for normal interview,it was so free that only 6 people came and walk inside in 3mins and u can actually submit for 1 person. Goodluck to all the drop box renewal 3 Likes |

Hello wonderful people, I'm new here, I have also been following the threads but I don't know how to proceed. My husband priority is to ensure we birth our first child in Canada or US which is why I'm yet to get pregnant because we want to ensure we have a proper plan and not mess up our intents. We've thought about UK, but looking at the cost and benefits, it doesn't seem to be a decent choice which is why we want to give US a shot. My question, please how do I proceed and when should we start planning the pregnancy? I'm a newbie here, and hope for suggestions, please help a sister. 1 Like |

Kemo88: Around $15,000. I didn't use epidural and I made use of my insurance. My insurance covered 80% of it. You may have to call to get the latest estimate. This was 2020 1 Like |
