Russia red line for Ukraine is joining NATO if you read between the lines. I do not believe Russia wants occupy Ukraine that is not possible any more as it is not 1800. Russia has moved in into where they wanted which is two new region of Ukraine, they have been there before now but by proxy now they are fully on ground. All these would have been resolved if Ukraine has granted those region the kind of autonomy they wanted, and Russia would not even have the thought of annexing them. But there has been a power vacuum there since 2105 and Russia has taken the advantage of that.

If the whole thing stops Russia has already won because those two regions are not going back to Ukraine. In few years there will be referendum and they will join Russia officially like Crimea. It is all west propaganda that they want to invade Ukraine. They have have recognized those two places as independent states and provide military support for them as a friendly nations which is acceptable under the international law just like Ukraine is asking for help from others as well.

What are you saying man, all those countries you listed was invaded by the US. Same way Russia is invading Ukraine. It's much more easier to invade a country than annexing it by a world power o. In Russia's case though, I believe that annexing Ukraine would be a much more easier task than how the Americans fair in Afghanistan and other parts of Middle East. During the Soviet era, the USSR also failed to successfully annex Afghanistan too, so I don't really understand your point of view.
