TheLoneCitizen:so na statue dem tk Dey knw who be great for club abi? Trapzonspor is not even among the big boys in the history of Turkish league so they management appreciate having a talent like nwakaeme in their ranks which they haven’t had before in their history Do you know how many greats that played in the Turkish league but never had a statue? I bet you don’t know of Romanian hagi who also played for barca and Madrid |

Subzero47: I never said a statue makes you great, I was comparing that to Charles' claim that a Turkish passport is an achievement. Being a Turkish league great is equivalent to being a European great. It means he has become a great in one of the leagues in Turkey. If he wins the league title next month, he becomes a Turkish legend. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 1:07pm On Feb 27, 2022 |
TheLoneCitizen:yes he is, currently has over 100 epl goals and also an epl winner with over a dozen caps for England |

TheLoneCitizen:the likes of eto,Kanu, drogba and other African greats that did so well playing the game in the highest level how many of them hv their statues in any of their former clubs? Even CR7 with his records at United and Madrid is yet to get one if not of recent that the Madrid management are planning on doing one for his contribution to the clubs history Trapzonspor erected one or planing to be because they are yet to have a talent like nwakaeme in their fold since the history of the club which implies it’s a small club that doesn’t hv the power to lure good players A whole George obong weah that conquered the serie A and europe when he won balon D’or no get even get statue for San Siro So if clubs start to Dey built statue for every player wey get double digits a season na em be say packing lot no go get space for spectators and fans to pack their rides come watch match |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 1:23pm On Feb 27, 2022 |
Even the main reason for the statue is to lure nwakaeme into signing a new contract with the club which he is yet to accept |

He even threatened to quit the national team because of it but then president obj promised that money will be recovered which never happened Jay jay hammer for psg ooooo, even I will say that move made him super rich then I can bet that among his set him and Kanu were the richest then |

charlesemeka85: Good. You just answered this your post below. charlesemeka85: Vardy - 171 G+A in 261 PL matches. Striker Nwakaeme - 72 G+A in 111 SL matches. Winger. Vardy - 14th highest PL scorer all time. Retires this season or next. Nwakaeme - 8th top assist provider all time. (non-turks). Still has at least 3 more years. Vardy - Leicester highest scoring player all time. Nwakaeme - Trabzonspor second highest scoring foreigner all time. Vardy - Super Cup winner, Premier League winner, FA Cup winner. Nwakaeme - Super Cup winner, Super League winner (champions-elect), FA Cup winner But in your opinion, one is a league great and the other isn't. 3 Likes |

TheLoneCitizen:baba I am not disputing nwakaeme’s achievements but you can never compare the Turkish league to French ligue one let alone the epl They are players that scored tons of goals in lesser leagues but are not counted amongst the greats that played the in Europe. You can only be recognized when you achieve such feat in the epl, laliga, bundlesliga, serie A and maybe the French league The strength of any league is measured by the quality of players present in the league not only on finance and revenue. if nwakaeme is currently putting up this numbers in the French league or even the bundeliga I bet you that few mid table epl and laliga teams will take a gamble on him even at the age of 32 1 Like |

Subzero47:even our own yakubu aiyegbeni finished with double figures every season for the clubs he played for in the epl and has over 90 epl goals to his name no even get statue for the English clubs let alone considered as one of the greats in the epl |

charlesemeka85: Vardy did not become an English great by just winning the league, he was consistent at the top scoring charts for a long time, if by that Albrighton and Drinwater would be English greats too 2 Likes 1 Share |
