This screenshot from a website on Vlahovic explains in a nutshell what is missing from Osimhen's game.

https://cultofcalcio.com/player-analysis-dusan-vlahovic-fiorentinas-strike-sensation/

Osimhen does tactically well when his team is not with the ball. I think that was what drew Amunike to him. However, he needs to apply the same ideology when his side is with the ball.

Keep opening for passes. When a team mate is with the ball, open for him to find an easy pass. Instead of running and attacking defenders.

Defenders today are so good at marking that trying to attack in where they are covering makes it difficult to score.

Let me drop some screenshots from Solanke. Another player who makes up for some of his footballing deficiencies with a lot of well read tactical Positional plays.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:34am On Feb 28, 2022
This picture shows one area that Osimhen misses. If this guy with the ball was an opponent, Osimhen would charge to help the players win the ball. Tactically sound.

However, if it is his teammate with the ball, Osimhen will go for an attacking run, forgetting he is running into a tight area.

Watch Solanke's movement here. He is running to the player to create a passing option. This makes him part of the build up play.

While Osimhen would have run in the opposite direction, making build up hard and also making it easy for defenders to mark him.

Thsese other two pictures show Solanke's Positional sense of being part of the build up. Osimhen plays with an ideology that he is part of the attack and they need to work the ball into attack to get it to him.

While in the first picture, you see Solanke running towards the guy with the ball. This gives the man a passing option.

This goal from Morata perfectly shows what Osimhen is missing and how effective it can be.

Be part of the build up play before attacking space.

You can see Morata dropped deep and ran towards the ball. After passing it, he turned and saw a gap in the defence and attacked the gap. Which made it easier for the player to find him in space to capitalize on it.

Osimhen learning this will make him a phenomenal Hitman.

Glad to see Napoli won and I think the team is still a work in progress. However, I was quite impressed with their build-up play.

Either way, the corridor between the midfield and the attack looked clueless until Elmas came in and brought some presence. Good win for them.

Their build up play is poor and will be exploited by any good team, they struggled to build up play to the opponents half and they continued doing it, Barca would have scored 7 against them the other day if not for Aubameyang

I think the right term I should have used is playing out from the back. They executed that well but when the ball came to the midfield, they lost direction repeatedly and could not build from there.

However, they were better with Elmas on the field and I think he should play more but in a deeper role.

Morata movement and goal.

True description of what Osimhen should learn and master.

The image is too clear as daylight. All you are talking about was before the position. Now in this position, Osimhen is calling for the ball. Instead of calling for the ball, he should know he is in a tight area and Insigne will not pass to a tight area. Instead of calling for the ball, attack the space.
Sir...from the picture, there is nothing stopping Osimehn from scoring there. A simple lob over the defence will find Osimehn. And there is high probability that Osimehn's shot(with a weaker foot at that) will be blocked by the defenders

There is a high chance of the Lazio defenders dealing with a cross to Osimhen.

I am not saying he can not attack from there but the ideal and modern way to play is to attack space. Try to stay off the defenders to prevent being marked. Staying in that position means defenders marking you.

Osimhen should learn to work with spaces and also be part of the play with his movements.

Finito.

Always make it easier for your teammates to pass to you. Osimhen attacking the space would have made it easier for Insigne to pass to him.

Waiting for a long lob is asking for Insigne to make a hard pass.

Highlights of Rivers United defeating Nasarawa United. Ishaq Kayode again with another banger. That's 10 in 15 matches. Chijoke Akuneto and Nyim Nwagwa are ballers BTW. Nice match for any who want to watch

So you mean championship team will perform far better than what the Scottish League teams have been dishing out in the champions League and Europa League?

Bros tell me something.

The top teams in the championship HERE and NOW thats Fulham and Bournemouth and I say that with 100% conviction.

You say it's TRASH.

So if a league is rated 20 in Europeby UEFA what does that tell you, that the league is TRASH or according to you UEFA is talking TRASH .

Look at the pattern over the past decade, when you are unable to compete at the highest level, what league is the least competitive and pays the most almost zero income tax. The Turkish league.

When top players can't compete consistently anymore. Players like Sturridge, Ozil, Balotelli, Cisse, Solado, Andreas Cornelius, the list is endless.

So explain yourself

There are old players in the epl also

Galatasaray besiktas are better than many epl teams grin

You could see that all the players were facing the goal including Oshimen and the player the player that passed the ball. If it's that easy to turn around at that pace the player who passed the ball should have been the one attacking that space. What I am saying is: There is no way it is humanly possible for Oshimen at that pace to turn around and attack that space in a moment. Picture is different from real life event.
