I enjoy reading your comments because from your write up there are strong indications that you are well abreast in military history.

There are several factors responsible for the German defeat in the Eastern front during WWII, but you mentioned just two of them, I was expecting you to mentioned,

1 the harsh Russian winter which the Germans were unprepared for, the Russian winter was even more deadly then the Russian army.

2 Availability of raw materials and manpower by the Russians, whenever the Germans destroyed a soviet division the Russian would immediately create 3 new division.

3 The Russian bitter resistance, the Germans underestimated the Russian fighting capabilities and they were made to pay dearly for it.

4 the German halt on their way to Moscow, one of the greatest mistake the germans ever made was to stop advancing few miles away from Moscow, I think the halt for about a month and the Soviet use this opportunity to reinforced and fortified their position, and dealt a final blow on the German.

Bro it wasn't really about the Russian land mass that made the Germans lost that war as the were already few miles away from Moscow, the Germans shouldn't have halted.

The broken Russian tanks that the media are showing us is just to discredit the effectiveness of Russian weapons, the main Russian weapons are yet to be drafted to Ukraine.

Ukraine's biggest setback is their topography. Too flat with no serious mountain or forest range in the east especially the areas that borders Russia. Vietnam's lush and extremely thick forests that makes almost all part of the country and Afghanistans mountains and caves did the magic.

Russia might win Ukraine through air raids and seas but Ukraine has more advantages on ground battles than them.
they know the terrain more than Russian soldiers and can easily ambush them.

Biafra resisted for two years, six months and nine days, it wasn't up to three years. Gowon was wrong on his preconclusions about the strength of Biafra, he made one mistake on the rule of engagement which is " never underestimate the capabilities of your enemies" he knew Biafra would collapse but he his prediction on when Biafra would fall was wrong.

Secondly let me quickly remind you that the Biafra war was a civil war, civil wars and wars of insurrection tend to last long in most occasion as we have seen in, the sri Lankan civil war, the Liberian civil war, the Sudanese civil war, the Ukrainian civil war, the Angolan civil war, the Nicaraguan civil war, the Cuban civil war, the Lebanese civil war and the Ethiopian civil war.

There is a motive behind every war. Russia losing on both military & economy fonts will greatly undermine their position as world power & this is what the west has be yearning for. U don't know there is a stiff competition between the three world powers? An invasion which portrays Russia as an aggressor is a perfect one for the big boys to unleash their plans on Russia. I only used the Biafra illustration to buttress how this whole thing may play out. The world was more of in support of Nigeria & those supporting Biafra were doing so secretly. But in this case, it is an issue of the aggressor against the oppressed. In the long run, I don't see Russia winning this at all. Sanctions are to weaken Russia economy, a country facing attack from economy & military fonts from both her continent, UN & USA. It is a very dicey one for Russia. Putin putting nuclear weapons on alert is a sign of frustration. The war is yet to start & he is already making reference to his last resort? During the civil war, Nigeria had the support of almost all African countries & the world, yet we saw how Biafra resisted them. But in this case, it is the opposite for Russia. If it escalate more than this, they will fight this war by proxy & there is no way Russia is defeating EU, NATO & the US.
