This is called í me na ego. Please Igbo guys should correct the spelling if it’s wrong.

We do this type of wedding much more than the crowded ones.

You guys only hear about the big weddings which happens during festive period.
But this one is more frequent and can be scheduled anytime of the year.

No music, no crowd, brides maids are usually sisters cousins and close friends.

The man shows up with his parents, random uncle and one or two friends.

As a matter of fact, that’s how I did my wedding.
Some seeds was placed in a tray and I was asked to take as many seed as I want.
After I did, they multiplied the number of seeds I took by #1000 which was 32k. That was my bride price.

My wife hovered around with palm wine looking for me, spotted me, immediately kidnapped me from where I was secretly stationed and took me to her dad. I put some small change inside the pammy cup, knelt before my father-inlaw, who blessed the union and that was the end of my wedding.

The 20 or so bewildered spectators that was present relaxed back on their free rented chairs; ate, drank and afterwards departed to their respective strange locations.

You only need your girlfriend to understand you and you are good to go. Spending money on wedding is you trying to please the crowd.
