Please help…
1. My dad lost the passport that had his previous visa which expired June 2020. Can he still apply for IW? Wouldn’t it be required at the embassy?

2. My youngest sibling wants to apply with my dad as a dependent but his previous visa expired in June 2018. Can he apply with my dad for IW (incase number 1 above is a yes)?

One of the requirements of IW is that you must be in possession of the passport that contains the previous visa . They will check this before they even collect your passport and when you apply there’s a question specific to this and once you answer no it won’t let you do IW so unfortunately your dad needs a regular appointment. Yes there are lots of slots for 8th of March. I tried booking but the system won't let me to book. And I have exceeded my limit today. So you can book for 8th of march now for IW

I’ll say no…and I’ll share an experience:

When I took my son for biometric at the consulate last week, a man was on the queue for same thing. When it got to his turn, the officer said he is “not qualified” because his family (wife and kids) had applied for asylum in the US (Houston, Texas)…

I believe the reason he may have been told he was not qualified is probably because of the reason his family sought for asylum, for instance if his wife had lied that she sought for asylum because she was being persecuted by family maybe in this case her husband cos of domestic violence and she has evidence to proof it . There is no way that man will ever step his feet in the USA.
