Long overdue, little by little the political and structural hegemony is being broken, these people don't have a choice they must give in, nobody should be able hold anybody to ransom in this 21st century. As for those 2 nay sayers, no comments 2 Likes |

This bill is very bad and against the spirit of unity. Some regions in the North will be negatively affected so I don't support it at all. 1 Like |

This is the one and only solution to the long-lasting erractic power supply in Nigeria. This will increase the competition between states for industrialization, as the state with constant power supply will attract more investors. 6 Likes |

Whether states should be able to generate electricity is what we finally agreed on in 2022? This country is finished! 2 Likes |

The governors are not serious-they are the most clueless sets of people in Naija. If a governor has the capacity and man power to generate electricity in his state, why will a governor have to wait for Abuja’s permission to do so? They’d point to the constitution as if they observe the rule of law in their day to day governance. They are lawless in many things, including trampling on the constitution (e.g local government autonomy) when it favors them, but when it comes to working for the people, they’d point to the limitations of the constitution to cover up their laziness and cluelessness. With or without that law, Abuja would not even stop any state that has the wherewithal to generate power. If private individuals illegally run refineries for their own benefit and nothing is happening to them, a whole state government can damn Abuja and generate power for her citizens. Let Abuja do their worst (but I’m sure they won’t even oppose it). Our governors are just lazy and clueless ! 7 Likes |

athaboi: No. Instead, states will invite private investors to come and harness it. They will pay taxes and other commission to the states. Just like the collaboration between Shell and Geometric Power to supply private sector-powered electricity to Aba in Abia State and its environs. 1 Like |

1.Good idea, as it would promote competition and growth in the sector. 2.But...and this is the but...it won't solve the problem in the power sector....which is we are not letting the power sector run profitably. Let the new companies and distributors and generators of power set their own price, MAKE their own profit so that they can fix things, and make it work. Nigerians should also stop bypassing their meters, pay their bills as and at when due, wheter metered or not metered, so that the companies would have enough money to fix things well, and we can all enjoy 24 hour light. 1 Like |
