Hello Shallyk Before you go ahead with your GIC intention, know that GIC is never a catalyst for approval.. Most of the approvals we have seen here this year alone, I cant remember seeing anyone who did GIC.. Peace ShallyK: |

Don't make your case worse. With your husband in Canada (and a PR) it will be easier for you to get a visitor visa based on family reunification. A study permit will be more difficult. If your earlier visitor visa application was on the GCKey, reapply using the new portal. Estherchi26: 1 Like |

You only need to notify IRCC when you're changing school. Not when you're changing program (in the same school). opeobats: 1 Like |

Hello Themmiee This school doesn't offer Post Graduate Work Permit eligible programs, so if you have the intention of remaining in Canada, then do not apply to the school.. But if you wanna come back to Nigeria after your study, then go ahead and apply to the school.. Peace Themmiee21: |

Some schools don't accept WES. But if your WES includes a course-by-course evaluation of your official transcript, some schools accept it. You will have to check the requirements of the school. By the way, if possible, you could just get a student copy of your transcript from your school and use it for initial application. chigora: 1 Like |

You don’t need to order GCMS notes for this. I guess the V.O didn’t see your supporting documents because they were not properly arranged. My spouse application was refused based on the following reasons as well. We didn’t know about Nairaland as at that time, so we submitted SOP, LOA, passport information page, POF and Tuition receipt. We thought IRCC would contact us for more information/documents. English Breakfast was served instead. Lol! What we did differently in the new Application was that we loaded IRCC with relevant supporting documents, a detailed SOP, Table of contents based on Nairalander suggestions. When you are reapplying, make sure your documents are well arranged. All the best in your next application! Trailblazer21: 1 Like |

ami213: It’s so frustrating that one will spend a lot of money for an application and the VO won’t check the Letter of explanation where I attached more than 25 supporting documents. It won’t be easy for me to reapply without getting the GCMS notes because I can’t think of any document I didn’t include or what I could have done differently. I need to know his reasons. Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate ) 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi, 1. Normally, school application guides advise you pick Yes if she is transferring or have already completed the program, otherwise she should select No. But if she has a transcript to show for the first semester courses, you can pick Yes. 2. I don't think the birth certificates of her siblings are necessary. You, as her parent, is currently in Nigeria (I believe), thus you are enough for hometimes. 3. Her extensive travel history is a plus. Attach the visa pages and weave an explanation into her LOE that she had always returned to her home country whenever she traveled. Well posted! kweje: 1 Like |

ami213: Hello guys, sorry I am new here and kinda finding it difficult to understand the site. But I will get used to it with time. I have lots of questions regarding this visa and study permit application of a thing. I applied for an undergraduate program to the university of Regina in Canada and I got an admission congratulatory message 2days ago, though I applied with my Waec results(finished in 2011) and also have a degree in Accounting from unilorin but with a third Class certificate. Now my problem is when applying for the study permit & visa, in my letter of explanation/statement of purpose, do I need to declare that I have a degree certificate(2018)? Since 2019 no job so I decided to take up a small business (sales of fabrics) till last year November 2021 I got a job but it happened that they owe staff salary so I didn't stay long, left in December last year cus before I could get my November salary it was war in December and to think it's a well known company!!♀️ ----- Now as for my business, it's a small one and I just registered it Jan 2022. I don't have a bank account for it yet so most of my savings are kept with my mum though not enough to even sponsor my tuition.. Now I don't have a bank account to show for my business that I can say I transact with. Though my parents are sponsoring me and they have the assets and capacity to fund me. ---Lastly, how do I construct my SOP that won't raise the VO suspicion as to what I have been doing for the past 11years after High school if I got admitted for an undergraduate course in Canada at my age(26yrs) knowing fully well I have not been working since then. P.S - I went for Nysc in 2018/19 but was posted to a primary school Please kindly help me as I am in a dilemma of either declaring my Bsc Certificate or not and how to defend what I have been doing for the past 11years after High school and also how to incorporate & defend the value of my business which is a Small business. Thanks fam. I appreciate 1 Like |
