Hello Shallyk

Before you go ahead with your GIC intention, know that GIC is never a catalyst for approval..

Most of the approvals we have seen here this year alone, I cant remember seeing anyone who did GIC..

Peace
ShallyK:
Please how did you go about funding GIC?

Don't make your case worse. With your husband in Canada (and a PR) it will be easier for you to get a visitor visa based on family reunification. A study permit will be more difficult. If your earlier visitor visa application was on the GCKey, reapply using the new portal.

Estherchi26:
Please I need help. I got married last year July, my husband is a PR in Canada. We filed for a visiting visa through an agent in May. Biometrics was in June and till now we haven't gotten any response from IRCC regarding my application. Haven't been away from my husband for the past 7months after our wedding. I decided to apply for school. Submitted application last week for fall 2022 in take and awaiting admission from school.

My fear is what are the chances of me getting a student visa with my spouse being a PR in canada. I intend using my father-in-law as sponsor coz of his business and assets then my sibling, car and land as home ties since my husband is not here and our marriage certificate shows his address in canada.

Please has anyone gotten student visa with their spouse in canada?

Can my father-in-law stand as sponsor with different last name. Though I intend getting an affidavit for change of name.

Please someone should help with answers. I'm tired of being alone without my partner and school seems to be the fastest route now

You only need to notify IRCC when you're changing school. Not when you're changing program (in the same school).

opeobats:
Good day everyone, I need some clarification on what to do. My younger brother got his application approved (I'll post his timeline shortly) but he's decided to change courses (school has approved of the new program) as he had to defer his admission for his initial program he applied for (session started in Jan). Now that the visa application has been approved, what would be the next steps ( as I know we have to notify IRCC of the new change).

Would he have to put in a new application or just notify IRCC before getting his passport stamped.

Any advise on how to proceed with this would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello Themmiee

This school doesn't offer Post Graduate Work Permit eligible programs, so if you have the intention of remaining in Canada, then do not apply to the school..

But if you wanna come back to Nigeria after your study, then go ahead and apply to the school..

Peace

Please is there anyone here who has studied or know anyone who studied at the Canadian Career Education College (CCEC) that got PGWP at the end of their study? The college is not a DLI yet but has so many relaxed requirements for international students,

Please assist with your responses.

To the VO it seems like travel to this countries outweighs the choice of program and level of study.. even when previous study and experience does not relate to choice of program...application is approved! If other eligibility is met
For applicants that has not travelled before where previous study/experience does not relate to choice of program application can be refused instantly...

well I beg to differ that’s why I asked “specifically” what degree was you personally granted the loan

Because there was once a time I spoke with one of their agents and I was told specially diplomas don’t qualify just bachelors , masters etc from two years of graduating

Send me a mail I'm willing to assist, thanks.

Some schools don't accept WES.
But if your WES includes a course-by-course evaluation of your official transcript, some schools accept it.

You will have to check the requirements of the school.

By the way, if possible, you could just get a student copy of your transcript from your school and use it for initial application.

You don’t need to order GCMS notes for this. I guess the V.O didn’t see your supporting documents because they were not properly arranged.
My spouse application was refused based on the following reasons as well. We didn’t know about Nairaland as at that time, so we submitted SOP, LOA, passport information page, POF and Tuition receipt.

We thought IRCC would contact us for more information/documents. English Breakfast was served instead. Lol!

What we did differently in the new Application was that we loaded IRCC with relevant supporting documents, a detailed SOP, Table of contents based on Nairalander suggestions.

When you are reapplying, make sure your documents are well arranged. All the best in your next application!

Please is there anyone here that can help with getting GCMS note?

And what does this really mean, I explained that my visa was extended even after graduation that’s why I decided to apply from the country I’m currently in.

Also, I just graduated in August, what do they mean by current employment situation?

It’s so frustrating that one will spend a lot of money for an application and the VO won’t check the Letter of explanation where I attached more than 25 supporting documents. It won’t be easy for me to reapply without getting the GCMS notes because I can’t think of any document I didn’t include or what I could have done differently. I need to know his reasons.

Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate smiley)

Hi,

1. Normally, school application guides advise you pick Yes if she is transferring or have already completed the program, otherwise she should select No.
But if she has a transcript to show for the first semester courses, you can pick Yes.

2. I don't think the birth certificates of her siblings are necessary. You, as her parent, is currently in Nigeria (I believe), thus you are enough for hometimes.

3. Her extensive travel history is a plus. Attach the visa pages and weave an explanation into her LOE that she had always returned to her home country whenever she traveled.

Well posted!

Hello Everyone,
I’m quite new to the platform but been reading a lot over the weekend. Great content and help in here.

Please your wise input from the house.

i am about to submit my daughter’s study visa application, i curious of the implications if i say No to the question “ post secondary institutions” - she is just in her 1st semester and it was not declared in her applications to her Canadian University. Must we declare this? As she wont be asking for credit transfers.

Secondly, i gave birth to her siblings in America, adding their US birth certificates, would that affect home times?

My daughter has extensive travel history to US, UK, Australia. She is also still a minor (16).

I hope i posted this correctly. Pardon any errors.

Hello guys, sorry I am new here and kinda finding it difficult to understand the site. But I will get used to it with time.

I have lots of questions regarding this visa and study permit application of a thing. I applied for an undergraduate program to the university of Regina in Canada and I got an admission congratulatory message 2days ago, though I applied with my Waec results(finished in 2011) and also have a degree in Accounting from unilorin but with a third Class certificate.

Now my problem is when applying for the study permit & visa, in my letter of explanation/statement of purpose, do I need to declare that I have a degree certificate(2018)?

Since 2019 no job so I decided to take up a small business (sales of fabrics) till last year November 2021 I got a job but it happened that they owe staff salary so I didn't stay long, left in December last year cus before I could get my November salary it was war in December and to think it's a well known company!!‍♀️

----- Now as for my business, it's a small one and I just registered it Jan 2022. I don't have a bank account for it yet so most of my savings are kept with my mum though not enough to even sponsor my tuition..
Now I don't have a bank account to show for my business that I can say I transact with. Though my parents are sponsoring me and they have the assets and capacity to fund me.

---Lastly, how do I construct my SOP that won't raise the VO suspicion as to what I have been doing for the past 11years after High school if I got admitted for an undergraduate course in Canada at my age(26yrs) knowing fully well I have not been working since then.

P.S - I went for Nysc in 2018/19 but was posted to a primary school

Please kindly help me as I am in a dilemma of either declaring my Bsc Certificate or not and how to defend what I have been doing for the past 11years after High school and also how to incorporate & defend the value of my business which is a Small business.

Thanks fam. I appreciate

So I give up again, I just made up my mind to jejely they crush for 9ja and keep doing my business…..One day I came to this thread again to continue reading and I now realize you don’t really need IELTS or Toefl for both admission & Visa.. So I dedicate 1weeks readings this thread, I started researching for schools that offer the course of what I’ve been doing for over 10yrs (Career progression) So July, 2021 I submitted my application to Durham college, this next day, Durham rejected my application coz of study Gap, Mumu me didn’t read where it was stated that Durham college don’t accept nothing less than 5year study gap. I don’t give up I kept researching for colleges that offer my course. I applied to three schools again and I got offer letter from all of them. I submitted like two school application form through Applyboard.com while I apply for other one directly to the school.
