Pa Ayo Adebanjo, leader of the Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has backed the call for a Nigerian President of Southeast extraction.

Adebanjo said it is the turn of the Southeast to produce Nigeria’s President because other regions have ruled the country.

He spoke while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, yesterday.

The Afenifere leader argued that former President Olusegun Obasanjo who led for eight years and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo hail from the Southwest.

He also pointed out that the South-south produced Goodluck Jonathan, the North has served its term, while leaving only the Southeast.

The 94-year-old man stressed that in the interest of federal character, the Southeast should be allowed to rule Nigeria.

“How can you say rotation in the North and South, and when it comes to the South, it would be South-West and South-South every time?

“Is the South-East not part of the South? What is the moral we are talking about?

Is it not the South-West that had Obasanjo serve for eight years, Osinbajo for another eight years as Vice President? South-South has served its own.

“Is the South-East not part of the South? That is the question we should answer,” he said.

He speaks for himself only and not for millions of yoruba that are ready to do everything for any yoruba man to become president come 2023
On the street, nobody knows this old man, he can't dictate to people in his local government talkless of dictating to millions of yoruba on whom to support come 2023
He is just a funny old man that likes joking a lot
ON TINUBU'S MANDATE I STAND

Its the turn of the igbos

The yorubas know these but only Tinubu and his greed failed to see these. The reason he's been disgraced everytime he tries to run faster than his shadows according to Rauf Aregbesola.

Tinubu crippled Afenifere and turned them to Afenifebi. Only enemies within can oppose a Yoruba Presidency. However, traitors die miserably

I have come to see that omoluabi, or the self proclaimed real yorubas are bigots, ethnic supremacists.

When the entire north and east supported mko Abiola against tofa it was for equity and fairness, so afenifere isn't saying anything wrong

Reasonable Yorubas believe and agree it's the turn of the Igbos to produce the next president come 2023 for the sake of posterity.

If they are wise and want Nigeria to be United, they should give the ticket to southeast and I support this. All other south should rest.

If PDP produce north for presidency and APC produce southeast for presidency, APC will win. PDP can come into power again if they produce a presidential candidate from South but for peace to reign they should produce from Southeast.

I am in support 100%. We've done 8 years as president, we're about completing another 8 years as vice. The north had done same, including 12 years as vice. It would only be fair to allow Igbos do too. Tinubu should just eat his humble pie and support an igbo presidency. Ęnikan kii dagbo she.

If Tinubu should continue with his greed, he faces a collosal disgrace cos he would lose the ticket at the primary and be rendered worthless in the end. I doubt if igbo would give him 0.01% of their votes, should he secure the ticket to run, which is even a mirage. Zulum should be considered as vice too. God bless Nigeria

Southeast truly deserves a chance. However, PDP is the only chance the Southeast have to have a formidable presidential aspirant in the 2023 Elections.

Unfortunately, Alhaji Atiku said he'd win the PDP primaries "as usual". Someone even recently said Atiku is PDP's first, second and Third choice

If we are talking about equity and rotation then we should do it properly.
