The fact that Putin's kleptocracy and supporters point out how ineffective sanctions are just convinces more that they're working. They do, unfortunate, they only punish the country, not their totalitarian leader. Sanctions have put a major dent in their economy, but this time it will/might hit the oligarchs in their pockets and the ones paying off Putin. That will not be well received by all the super wealthy oligarchs and their families happily residing in Moscow. These wealthy Russians do not want their little paradises disturbed by American and European sanctions on their personal wealth. |

The Olighacks are the obvious collateral damages, their businesses lost valuable value already, their wealth is under sanctions, they can not get to their luxury mansions all over the world, their yacht are already impounded. Normally people don't go after Putin or call him out in any way and when they do, they end up getting killed or poisoned, but this is a different ballgame, the Olighacks are speaking up in defiance. Put-in don buy rotten market... 5 Likes 1 Share |

Thus war, regardless of how putin & his supporters wish to airbrush it, is unpopular, unnecessary & uncalled for. |

His nairaland war veterans said he should continue and wipe out Ukraine thinking they are wise. I just realised Africa is like this because of our love for strong lawless "dictators" in power, we praise the oppressors and chide the oppressed. A whole lot of them are shamelessly blaming Ukraine for everything while praising Putin the strongman because of their hate for the West. We surely deserve the kind of leaders that we have, because there is no difference between we and our leaders. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Many people here just pick side because all the read from the media is that Russia are the bad guys (exactly how they wanted you to react), ask all the people on your timeline posting "pray for Ukraine blah blah blah" what is actually happening or what causes the war? it will amaze you that many percentage % of them don't have a single clue This war is deeper than Russia vs Ukraine.... before you choose a side make sure you get your fact right by making lot of research..... one thing for sure is either you choose one side or the other, they both don't give a damn bout our black face. 1 Like |

Not enough, that demon can contnue with his madness. Ukraine will NEVER belong to Russia. The UN, EU and Nations of the World must begin to pass laws that will legalise the use of these frozen assets (running into trillion of USD) to pay for fines of the invasion, pay compensation to hundreds of families of victims of this senseless genocide, and rebuild Ukraine plus ALL her military arsenals. Those foolish Billionaires should just forget about their assets/investments, just like Abrahamovic of Chelsea. They are all GONE. |

sagitariusbaby: Shut up. Small boy. You don't even know the long and short of what you're supporting. All you know is that you feel inferior to oyinbo. CNN has brainwashed your head. Your beloved ''west'' is responsible for thousands of invasions of regions, countries, and territories, across the world, killing billions of people including your own ancestors. Russia has never tried to enslave or colonise you or connive with your leaders to steal your resources. Instead, they funded liberation movements across Africa in the 1960s right up to the 80s. When the west dismissed Mandela and the ANC as 'terrorists', Russia did the opposite and funded them. But no, They are your problem today because they reacted to the west's NATO adventurism, as that group continues to build military bases surrounding Russia. Ukraine was the final straw. Russia will NOT accept NATO and US military bases on their doorstep, at their borders, just as the USA threatened nuclear war after President Khruschev of the Soviet Union tried to build a military alliance with Cuba, next door to Florida, making Khrushev withdraw. Oh but now Putin is the 'evil monster' for doing the exact same thing the US would have done. That is western media brainwashing of your dull head. The Ukrainians you are crying about are racist to the core, and would throw you off the train if you tried to flee with them, like they did to black students there. Mr supporter. |

[s] jcross19: jcross19: madridguy:[/s] This is what ignorant, shallow, and unintelligent village Igbos say all the time when they are confronted with news, issues, and facts that they can not intelligently comprehend or decipher. I mean, do you village Igbos actually think a renowned and credible international news outlet go just fabricates stories about the head of a major international oil company and a very popular billionaire without denial or push back from the powerful billionaire, his company or his lawyers? Whatever village square education they fed you people that made you so lowly thinking with bad cognitive really damaged you intellectually. Very typical and predicable Igbos.. |

Rostikol: 1. Colonization was not limited to Africa. It is only ignorance that will exonerate Russia from colonization. Russia colonized many territories. The world doesn't start and end in Africa. 2. Russia will not accept military bases at their doorsteps? Ukraine is not a member of NATO. There are 5 NATO countries that are on the doorsteps of Russia. They are Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. Why did Russia attack these 5 countries? It left them to attack Ukraine that is not a member of NATO. That's a combination of misplaced priority and insanity. 3. FYI, Russia had a military base in Cuba for 40 years. 1 Like 1 Share |
