In this situation, let IMSG leave the federal allocations and income generated in Orlu for development of Orlu; instead of putting those allocations and income into urban expansion and infrastructures in Owerri.
People like you believe that state governors must build state capital to international standard- Okorocha's style, before building the urban infrastructures of Orlu and other places. That's what half-educated persons believe.
mention one or two things that is giving Imo state govt money in orlu, u think agboro money in a month can buy ten trips of sand, What do u have in orlu? Mugu

Land alone does not make up landed properties.
Cost of buildings, rent, hotel and hostel accommodation fees, are also in cost of landed properties. They are very high in Owerri area.
In Orueast LGA, and indeed, in the other LGAs of Orlu senatorial district, cost of landed properties is ten times lower than cost of landed properties in Irete, Umuguma, Uratta, Naze, not to mention Owerri city centre itself. Governors from Orlu senatorial zone who build infrastructures only in Owerri make indigenous land owners of Owerri to get super rich, but impoverish people in Orlu senatorial district, because they can't build or reconstruct social infrastructures in Orlu area.
Cost of land in Banana island Lagos is 20 times cost of same size of land at Oshodi still in Lagos. Shame on u that u argue unintelligently.

If income generated in Owerri alone has been what went into building urban infrastructures in Owerri, the town might not have expanded beyond the 5 villages of Owerri.
You are narrow minded, the type that believes that state capital must be built by government to "international standard " while rest of the state waits. You deserve no more reply.

Scarcity of land and choice location are the main reasons behind higher cost of land in Banana Island than in Oshodi.
In Imo state, too many uninformed state governors exclude other parts of the state from urban development infrastructures. The governors use part of the yearly development funds of the state in building and expansion of Owerri urban infrastructures and
stow away the rest of the funds that should have gone for urban and rural infrastructures outside Owerri area. Consequently, too many people from Imo state abandon their hometowns and move into Owerri. That, including location of all tertiary education institutions in Imo state in Owerri, shot up the cost of land and other landed properties in Owerri. How does your Banana Island and Oshodi example fit into the case of Imo state?
You use too many monikers on this thread but so stupeed to believe that others don't know.

Personally I think Hope Uzodinma is doing well, despite the insecurity challenges imo state has kept growing economically and attracting a reasonable amount of investments.

If I was Imo State Government, I will devise a long term plan to build a high-rise/smart city in Oguta.

It can be done as PPP just like Eko Atlantic. Oguta is begging for attention and there's no other time to give it that attention but now.

Oguta can be linked to rail with Owerri. The distance is like from Ikorodu to VI (for those that lives in Lagos).

If it is linked to Owerri by rail, people can transit from Oguta to Owerri in less than 30 mins.

Oguta is a nice spot to start and build a smart city.

Further, plans can also be made to link it directly with the NIger River.`

For it to work, the rail must come first

that has nothing to do with hope. There's not government in Imo at the moment, but the people themselves are still moving forward. Compare what government is doing in Imo to what government is doing elsewhere, you'll know we're moving with one leg.

I'm going to share an unpopular but common sense opinion. Mega cities/planned cities are a waste of money and they hurt a place economically, culturally, and governmentally more than they help. They all fail. There is no successful planned mega cities in the world. A city grows naturally into mega-city status because the demand to live there and its economic purpose and positioning. The Dubai everyone is following is currently failing. By the time 'mega cities' reach livability all of the glitz and glam that make them matter is outdated. Once it's outdated, the hype dies soon after. Without the hype you have overpriced empty buildings. Take the money and enhance what you already have and every city will have all of the 'good' of a mega city + a currently existing city has proven that it has it's own lifeblood outside of the hype of being new and shiny.

Even China has realized it's a mistake and is scaling back on mega planned cities. Enhance the cities you already have. Cities become 'mega' when they're supposed to.

Why can't they just at list Expand this road to larger extent, look at how tight and narrow the road is, such road is expected to a highway with barrier/divider to stop pedestrian crossing over. Look at how empty the land behind is wasted to be occupied by Shanties. They ain't actually building for future city expansion, traffic and economic activists that comes with it. Not even a covered drainage, the kind of mosquitoes it's breeding won't help the eradication of malaria/ typhoid. I just weak for this people

Prior to the commencement of the road construction, the propagandists informed the road shall be dualized. I am surprised to see the road being resurfaced.
