Crude Oil Price: MAN Warns Of Hyper Inflation, Subsidy Hits N400, Diesel, 625 The rising prices of crude since the Russia-Ukraine war began, coupled with exchange rate instability in Nigeria, among others, have pushed up the prices of refined petroleum products across the country, according to findings by The PUNCH. Industry figures seen on Tuesday showed that the cost of Brent, the crude against which Nigeria’s oil is priced, rose above $133/barrel around 6pm Nigerian time. The commodity had traded below $90/barrel before the war in Ukraine started.Punch

Last week I bought diesel for ₦460 /litre, on Sunday, I bought it for ₦500/litre.. Only to get there yesterday and they told me it's ₦627/litre. Mind you, 100 litres will only last for 8 hours. That's how they are killing me softly in Nigeria 74 Likes 5 Shares |

Hardship is about to bite harder. Many more businesses will fold, many more people will be out of jobs, those still with jobs will have lower purchasing power, insecurity will rise and the cycle continues as the government will remain helpless. Wahala no dey finish 31 Likes 2 Shares |

There’s no doubt about it APC led government will finally explode this country before 2023. Imagine diesel at the rate of N650 from 220 in November last year?? Things were not bad like this even during the time of Covid, Most manufacturing companies are using diesel to power their engine. Nigerians should brace up for hard time, it will not even inflation this case but hyper-inflation. Buhari as minister of petroleum is a premium failure pro max. He should sack himself as a petroleum minister. Before u attack me and say rubbish I didn’t belong to any political party. 28 Likes 1 Share |

A lot of harsh truths here 1.Subsidy costs are rising. 2.Inflation is rising. 3.We have no choice, we have to either let go of the subsidy, or we end up spening more to keep prices low....and pay for it in debt years later. 3 Likes |

Now we we will see how a war fought in Europe will affect negatively us because we were not well positioned to benefit from it In 7 years, no refineries so the rising oil prices will surely affect our imported petroleum products In 7 years, reduced oil production so we cannot even meet our OPEC quota to benefit from the rising crude prices. Even if we were , the benefits will be lost to increased petrol subsidy. In 7 years, worsened electricity generation and distribution so Manufacturers have to rely on diesel which is deregulated so rising oil prices will mean rising diesel prices meaning higher manufacturing costs meaning rise is cost of manufactured goods In 7 years, plenty noise about rail lines but they aren’t used to move cargo which may have reduced cost of transporting goods. With rising diesel prices, cost of transporting goods will rise So when Femi the fool writes long editorials glorifying the work of the buffoon, you look at reality and ask… where is the real progress! In the end, they’ll blame the war for their failure and moveon 39 Likes 2 Shares |

FG Needs To Stop Subsidy Regime -Marketers To address the continued rise in the prices of refined petroleum products as well as subsidy, oil marketers insisted that it was high time that the government stopped the petrol subsidy regime, as well as fix the country’s refineries. “This situation has again showed why it is so important for us to get our refineries working and start refining our own crude here in Nigeria,” Gillis-Harry stated. I will blame Buhari for this...had he removed subsides in 2015, by now we would have had domestic refining in some capacity. He did not, here we are in 2022, exposed to the aftereffects. I also blame GEJ for not being bold enough to tell them protesters in 2012 to go and sit down, and raised prices to N140. By now, we would have also had refineries And yes, I blame all of our past leaders...Gowon for bringing in the idea of subsides, and IBB for now removing them in 1993, when it was first suggested, for instance. Now here we are....keep on paying for subsides , while they keep rising (from N50 some years ago to N400 now) or remove them, and get higher prices. Anyways, subsidy needs to go. 2 Likes |

But this Government said pump prices are high because the price of crude oil fell. Now the price of crude oil increases but pump prices are increasing too. Nigeria economics need to b studied asides real economic being taught. And don't tell me it's because of the war, which am sure even if there's no war ongoing Nigerian Government will blame something else 6 Likes 1 Share |
