March is enough time for God to do his wonders; still, I would say you exercise patience a little bit more. So, two options come to mind:

1. You can start your programme online then plan to travel when your application is approved but find out from your school the refund policy in case of the worst-case scenario on your application. Some people take the risk of resuming their programme online, and it turns out in their favour, and this option is a 50/50 chance of success. This option can be exploited if you are okay with the refund policy. Then, you don’t lose your tuition fee.

2. I would say wait till the last minute before deciding to defer. For instance, if the due date for deferment is on the 7th of April, you can wait till 4 or 5 days to the due date before deferring. You can send an email to the contact person in your faculty if you can get back to them latest by the 3rd of April to decide for deferment (with the assumption that the due date is 7th) so they mentally have you in mind. This delayed strategy will allow you to buy more time, and the PPR might just come before that time, and it would be a Win-Win.

Since your eligibility has not started, you can defer to September to give you allowance of time so you wont have to defer again that’s when you decide to defer.

In the meantime, keep sending reminders to IRCC via email and webform. Tag the subject “URGENT MAIL” or "PRIORITY MAIL" when sending these emails. Send them a short, concise mail appealing to their emotions on the need to have speedy response on your application to enable you to plan appropriately for your studies in line with your study plan. You can note that the COVID restrictions are already getting lifted, and you may not have the opportunity to join your classes online, which may affect your study plan.

I wish you the best!

Thanks bro, I appreciate your input

Please, for BA, did you apply for transit Visa?

BeejayB:
Landing gist!!!
I got to the airport around 5.30 on March 9. They allowed my mum, aunt and uncle to enter with me after much persuasion..
As soon as we entered, the agriculture guys decided to check my bag and I payed 2k for declaration and a certificate I was given…

Next stop was British Airways desk. I weighed my stuff and had to do some rearrangements to avoid extra luggage payment. After that I went to the counter for my documents to be checked.
They asked for passport,Arrive can, PCR test, enrollment letter, and letter of acceptance .
Then I showed them the mail I sent to the school and their reply about how enrollment letter isn’t necessary. The lady sha wanted to be dragging with me. I know my rights. Enrollment letter isn’t really their business here and she took me to her boss and that one said I could check in without it..
She gave me a yellow card for immigration. I proceeded to get me boarding passes and off to meet my family.. this was around past 7.
Chilled with them till about 8 because it wasn’t easy for them just standing so I told them to leave and I proceeded to immigration. I was checked. Some men wanted to ask for money I said I didn’t have naira on me anymore.
Then to the boarding gates of British Airways. We were checked in at 9:56pm and boarded the flight at 10:48pm. Took off at exactly 11:26 to London Heathrow ..

Got to Heathrow at 4:40am (UK time). My layover is for 7 hours. Did the whole serenren of finding my gate for connecting flight and security checks.. Just ask questions if you need any help, they are always available to help. No go lost o. Lol
Settled down finally at 5:52am.. called family and friends and then walked around to get brush and paste because BA said they didn’t have. I settled down again, made lots of calls and went to get breakfast. Relaxed and waited for my flight to Toronto.. didn’t walk around much because I was tired..

And the boarding to Toronto began at 11:06am
The plane took off at 12.30pm. We had a few minutes delay . Food was still trash. British Airways need to do better with their meal plans.
Got to Toronto at 14:40 local time . I did the self declaration and proceeded to custom to declare what I had as food stuff .
Then proceeded to the almighty Border desk
I was asked for my letter of acceptance and tuition receipt. I had only payed deposit but showed them my bank app for the balance of my fees. I got my study permit
Then proceeded to the arrival Covid test cz I was selected. Luckily I had registered for switch health so it was easy..
Waiting presently for my connecting flight to Calgary. I’m so excited because I’ll be seeing my nephew for the first time since he was born 4 years ago and seeing my sister after 5 years.
Allihamdulilah
My class starts in May so I have time to get familiar with the place and spend time with my family.

I wish everyone the best.. feel free to ask me any questions

Good Afternoon Gurus,

I want to ask if it's okay for me to apply based on my proof of funds.

My tuition fee is $17,593. I have paid $9,288 as tuition deposit. I believe the remaining tuition remains $8000+.

Now, I want to apply with #7.2million Naira in my account. Is this amount enough as a self sponsor?

Dear Show,

What exchange rate are you using, using 332* to 1 CAD will leave you with 21K CAD, out of this paying 8000cad will leave you with 13kCAD, out of this 10K CAD will be for leaving expenses, which leaves you with 3kcad for miscellaneous, however these are hovering on the borderline which is not ideal, if you can make the fund at least N10m then you are good to go.

Having lost my husband a while back and with the current state of the country as we all know, I made the decision to migrate to Canada with my two children through the Canadian study route. After conducting various researches and upon some consultations, I began to feel like this was an impossible feat as I came across various takes from individuals claiming how nearly impossible getting an approval would be for me. This was exacerbated by the fact that the program I was applying for was totally different from my educational background (You see, I had applied for a Global Hospitality Management program with a previous degree in Accounting). According to various people, this further slimmed my chances of having my visa approved.

Then came @Frankrobbn1. I came across Mr, Frank (CEO of fandrglobal.com) in my search for a reliable, competent and result-proven agent who could handle my peculiar case and put together a befitting profile for me. I had read several reviews about the quality of his services and how he had already helped many individuals move to Canada, but the unique thing is that none of these reviews even did true justice to Mr. Frank's efficiency.

Once I placed him on retainer, he assured me that I was in the best hands. However, this was my first trial and because of the peculiarity of my case, I was quite frantic. I called incessantly trying to know how far he had gone and how he was progressing with my application. Surprisingly, for a man with a busy schedule, Mr. Frank never lost his cool over my calls. He continuously reassured me that he was exerting his full expertise into putting together the best profile for me. Even after he had submitted and I would still call for updates, Mr. Frank still calmed me down by insisting in the quality of his competence which had already as he would say 'been tested and trusted'. Truly, I have confirmed the truth of the quality of @Frankrobbn1 's services because behold my visa has just been APPROVED for both myself and MY TWO CHILDREN!! Truly what seemed impossible has now materialized.

I pray that the almighty God will bless @Frankrobbn1 for me. The good Lord that used you to work a testimony for me will continue to elevate you. There are not enough words to express the amount of joy coursing through my body right now. My children and I will be making the move to CANADA!. Our migration success story would have never been written without Mr. Frank.

My fellow Nairalanders and aspiring migrants who are seeing this testimony and wish to make the move to Canada, my honest advice to you is to consult @Frankrobbn1 for his expert services on packaging the best immigration applicationfor you. I can assure you that whatever amount spent on procuring such services will not be remembered when you are staring your approval in the face. I wish you all the best and I hope to see everyone here in Canada someday. Thank you and God bless.

Dear Dr. Andrea Kraj,

I am writing to express my interest in a master's degree position in your group. I hold a BS.c degree in Physics and Industrial Physics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria with a Second Class CGPA of 65% (3.84 on a scale of 5.0). My undergraduate research was conducted on the Construction of a Solar box cooker, to convert Solar energy to heat energy in a confined space that was used to boil water. The study was commended as one of the best in the department.

To acquire more knowledge in the field of Solar energy, I got an industrial attachment as a Research Assistant at an Electronics development Institute (ELDI) and was posted to the Solar department. I worked alongside a Solar engineer and was involved in the construction of a solar phone charger, solar rechargeable lantern, solar information display, and solar inverters. Also, we carried out projects of mounting Solar panels (PV) for some homes, offices, and universities that were connected to batteries and inverters used to power their homes and offices due to power failure. I was later posted to the R&grin department and I researched other renewable energy sources.

I went through some of your research articles, and the area of research being pursued in your group is very interesting. Going through your website, what my eyes saw gladden my heart. Your project work on the installation of a 900 kW PV System in Nicaragua is what I desire to do for my community and different communities in my country as a woman.

During my industrial attachment, I was made to understand that being involved in the Renewable energy sector is a man's world, and I seek to change that mindset. I come from a developing country where electricity seems to be a luxury that can't get to everyone, most especially, remote communities and these communities have abundant renewable sources( Sun) wasting away. This lack of electricity has brought adverse effects to the community in terms of employment and education. I seek to be that solution my community needs. Your publication on "Smart Cities Begin With You", caught my attention and I will appreciate an opportunity to discuss potential research ideas that align with your area of interest.

I am confident that my investigative qualities, independence, creativity, critical thinking, analytics, team player, presentation, effective communication, self-motivated, flexibility and adaptability, organization, time management, and target-oriented would be an asset to your laboratory. Just to also let you know, I just subscribed to your podcast- FEMPOWER. I believe that one day, I will post my story and it's going to inspire a lady or ladies out there, that no matter their gender, they can go into the engineering field and do what the men are doing, even greater than them. Am also a member of STEM. I am enclosing my CV and TRANSCRIPT. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing positively from you, as I believe working under your supervision will bring my dream of "Being the Solution the world needs" to a reality.

Sincerely,

Okafor Onyinye Augusta.

Hello,
* First of all, it's late to start looking for a supervisor for a Master's program. I can categorically tell you that all applications for masters program for international students starting in September 2022 are closed, not to talk of getting a supervisor and applying. In fact, many have already received a response based on the application they've submitted since last year. So you can only start looking for a supervisor for September 2023 admission.

# No 2. I think your cold mail is too lengthy, you don't need to talk about everything you've done, just focus on areas you share in common with the professor, and few outstanding things you've achieved that can quickly catch interest (A write up says cold mail should not exceed 100 - 150 words) but with details that are catchy.

# No 3. Your CGPA percentage is not 65%. If you had 3.84/5 CGPA, then it is 76.8%. You can use CGPA conversion sites to see. Just Google "CGPA percentage conversion, select any of the search results, pick your grading scale which is 5.0 and input your CGPA (3.84) and click submit... You should calculate your last 2 years as well, if your last 2 years (e.g 300 and 400L) at the university is over 3.84, I'll suggest you mention it in your mail as well.

#No 4. Getting a supervisor can really be challenging. But in your own case, I believe they didn't respond because it is too late, all professors and doctors would have already known students they want to work with by Fall and admissions would have already be given out.

In my own case, I started mailing potential supervisors last year May/June 2021 for September 2022. It was just 3 that responded. The first person said she'll be retiring the year I planned to start, the second one said I should just apply and use his name, while the third one set a date with me and interview me through zoom. After that she agreed to supervise me and send my details to the department.
I applied to the school around October last year, and I just received admission for Sept 2022 intake few days ago. Mind you my overall CGPA is 3.8/5, but last 2 years is 4.1

So, focus on next intake, September 2022 is not possible again. All the best.

I have seen an SOP of half page and this man got approved. Point is, try to give sellable points to be able to convince the VO.

5pages is too much because a VO will not have such time to read the entire pages since he is attending to more than 20apps per day.

How old is the person?

If the person is 28-upwards, a bsc might not be a good option, rather go for a diploma.

For the study gap, you are expected to show what you have been doing since graduation, either business or learning a trade. It is more advantageous to go course related to what he was doing during the study gap.

Ensure you include evidence of whatever you say in the study gap.

Hi Yellowlady, any news from Sask yet?
Yellowlady:
Getting a prospective supervisor can be a bit challenging but you have to keep trying.
From my little experience I think this cold mail is lengthy.
I think your cgpa is low ( 65%) most schools want at least 70-75%.
If you are not sure of the conversion to percentage, you can convert your cgpa to a 4 point cgpa for the supervisor to have a better grasp of your cgpa at first glance.
More so, you can check for supervisors who specifically want students.
I sent about 10 emails and got 2 favorable response.

Pls I need advise. I graduated with a BSc in Political Science (3.04 CGPA) in 2015. I intend to study Masters in Canada but I heard that studying Masters in Political Science does not guarantee Permanent residency (PR) in the future because Political Science isn't a degree with skills in demand. Pls is this true?
If true, which Masters degree course can I opt for or change to even if it is unrelated or partially related to my background?

Do you gave experience in political science? If no, try and apply for studies in your area of work experience.

Is it a 2.1 or 2.2?

What do

Hello,
* First of all, it's late to start looking for a supervisor for a Master's program.

Congrats on your admission!

If you don't mind me asking...

Which school? Did it come with funding? What course?
