Let's not deceive ourselves. Nigeria will never get better, the country is getting more messed up everyday. There's corruption in every sector of the country. No need forming being patriotic, we all know what's popping here.

Nigeria is the only country in the world where corrupt politicians are regarded as gods.

One day things go change that what differentiates us from the dead ...."HOPE"

The Nigerian Airforce Jaguar Jets are fighter bombers which were purchased in the early 80s by the shehu shagari administration. They were 18 in number. The planes had to be retired early in the mid 1990s during the Abacha regime due to sanctions and lack of spares and had a low service time. It was the most advanced aircraft purchased by the Nigerian Airforce until the arrival of the JF-17 fighter aircraft in 2021.

Our fleet is made up of mostly 1st and 2nd generation aircrafts. The only few here that are close to 3rd generations are the JF-17 and the Tucano. Next time, our govt should save money to buy the Russian made Sukhoi SU-25, SU-27 and other variants of it that we probably would be able to afford. Russian planes are miles cheaper than the ones from the west.

Is it impossible for Nigeria to get the technology in producing these aircraft? The best suggestions should have been that we should look for a way to get the technology in manufacturing these weapons.

The Nigerian Airforce just like any other Airforce around the world is tasked with protection of the territorial integrity of it's nation airspace. The Nigerian Airforce is the most sophisticated Airforce in the entire West African sub-region having participated in countless wars, missions and campaigns.
It's equipped with fighter aircrafts, Helicopter gunships, Attack aircrafts and other aircraft types.

Note: This list would include some retired airframes

uote author=Stormtrooper11 post=110941879]The Nigerian Airforce F-7Ni Airguard are the FASTEST aircraft in the Nigerian Airforce with a speed of 2200km/hr. They are the airdefence interceptors. The planes are responsible for keeping the Nigerian airspace in check against intruders. It's a Chinese built aircraft, a Chinese version of the Mig 21. 15 aircrafts were purchased. Over the years few crashed, the recent being the mid air collision in Abuja few days to 1st October 2018.
They are mainly based at the Kwevev airbase, Makurdi, Benue state.

The Egyptian military Budget is crazy.

Their military is interwoven with the govt and so defence spending there is crazy.

Punching far above their economic class.

The problem with Nigeria is lack of ambition.
The leaders are not ambitious nor forward thinking.
they solely after their Belle (stomach)

As in only after "food" what they will eat

Note: the food here can be cars, mansion, woman, properties.

Nothing else in their brain

This is stale. Choose another line. The East is the only Region that contribute ZERO to the Economy. Your region rely on the North, West and South South for it's survival. This means, your region is being spoon fed by the North, West and South South Regions.

You see we cannot compare with the US, not all country can keep maintain a carrier. Spending on military is not a problem, but fast growing population in Nigeria means government need the money for economic and infrastructure growth.

Although Nigeria is still not performing as expected, the only country I used as yard is Pakistan, due to close population count.

The Nigerian Airforce JF-17 Block 2 4th generation multirole lightweight fighter aircraft is the most modern combat aircraft in the Nigerian Airforce. Nigeria declared interest in the aircraft in the year 2014, with plans to purchase at least 25-40 airframes. Currently, 3 of the aircraft were delivered in the year 2021. It was made by a collaborative effort by Pakistan and China.
