Osemigho:One thing I also want to clarify is whether studying any Masters degree within 18months duration and above with a 3 years post Study work permit (PSWP) can guarantee a Permanent Residency (PR) in the near future. How accurate is this information? Secondly, I have heard that changing career path or choosing a different course is hard in Canada esp when there's limited or no experience in that field and also in terms of obtaining a student visa... Sadly I don't have an IT work experience. The only thing I know is just Graphic design. Not familiar with programming or coding except for the online training I'm still doing on Web Development. Which IT field can you suggest to me that is slightly related to my field or that doesn't have programming or coding? To be honest, I still find change of course somehow complicated because I really can't tell which one is smooth enough to sail through the visa process. Is it possible to study courses like accelerated Nursing degree at a Postgraduate level? |

Please those that have travelled recently or have travelled , how did you do the proof of fund at the POE? My parents want to send the money for my upkeep to my account about 3.5-4M while my remaining tuition is with them, I don’t know if that is alright? I want to open a dollar account so I can get dollars to travel? How wise is this? |

angel4sure:For your 300 and 400 level CGPA, just add it up and divide by 2, then convert it to percentage. So your cgpa for the last 2 years will be 86.8%. Seriously you have a great chance of receiving full funding. I've not received any funding yet, but by April the school will send it out to applicants. I don't know how much it'll be for now. 1 Like |

Aissy:If you parents decide to send you 3.5M to your account, that's fine. Instead use half of that 3.5M to apply for PTA and leave the rest in your account. You can show the $4000 gotten from PTA to the Immigration Officer. And the remaining in your account, and a screenshot of your parents account statement.. This should do. Good luck. 2 Likes |

buchito1: You cant get PTA except you book return ticket. And if you open a dorm account you cant transfer the money from dorm account to canadian account easily if dat is even possible. Aside that the bank will ask you to fund the dorm account from the black market in fact they will call the aboki to come meet you in the bank themselves lols 3 Likes |

skull4eva: In addition with what you just said, I think the best is to just open a Dorm acct get a Visa card, fund the account with USD as you can easily withdraw it when you get to Canada and saved it to your Canada account, thou there’s a daily limit and charges to every withdrawal. 1 Like |

Aissy: It a very wise decision as you still have the time to process everything. Open a Dorm acct, get a Visa card with the account, source for dollar with that 3.5-4M and and deposit it to the Dorm. 2 Likes |

Please help oh!!! Nobody has answered me. Please it's urgent!!! Good day all, please I am a bit confused. On the new portal, a question on if your spouse would be joining you later in Canada? Please should I choose yes because I actually plan to join later but on the other hand, does this reduce the home tie? What If I choose no and I am later denied SOWP? Please what are your ideas? Thanks [/quote] |

ocpaschal: Wetin you dey go since you graduated? I mentioned data or IT because you can argue they are related to your experience in political science. I want to believe you dont have education or experince in Nursing. So I won't advise that. At the end, it is a matter of choice and a bit of luck. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix: 2:05am On Mar 12, 2022 |
1. No official limit. But in general, for study permit application, I will say 1.5 to 2 pages of explanation, and other pages for list of documents. But it could be more because: a. Not everyone can write succintly. b. One might have many things to explain. I generally advise that, once the LOE is more than 2 pages, one should put the paragraphs under headings such as purpose of visit, financial status, home ties, etc. Also, one should highlight important points (in bold font) to make them easier for the VO to see. 2. One of her parents should sign for her. ** For the SOWP applications I have done, I never went beyond 1 page, and they were all approved. Somidotun5: 2 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix: 2:19am On Mar 12, 2022 |
You don't need to have 10m for 4-6 months. The 4-6 month statement is to allow the VO understand your cash flow. Let's assume the required amount by IRCC is 12m, you only need to have this 12m by the time you submit your statement of account. It doesn't matter if you had just 6m a month before. If you sell the asset, please try to get a proof that you sold it (e.g. receipt, transfer of ownership, etc.). Then attach the evidence, and explain in your LOE that the lump sum came from the sale of your asset. aforosco: 3 Likes |

Good morning, house. Enquiry.....please. *If one secures a visit visa; is there any process of writing IRCC to convert it to SOWP, after a spouse secures a study permit? * What is duration of validity for a visit visa? Thanks, all. |

buchito1:Yeah i get your point but you need to arrive nigeria that in that date unless cbn will blackmail you and term you a fraud. When you now calculate the flight money to return to nigeria and to go back to canada buying black market will almost amount the same and it will not have the flight stress attached 3 Likes |

kennyjoy: See on every withdrawal you are charged 3cad and the maximum you can withdraw on the atm per day is 500 cad cash and 1k cad online purchase on debit card. Now imagine paying 3cad on every withdrawal you are losing money which is hard to make here. I will advice u change the money to usd and travel with it. You can travel with as much as 10k usd once decleared. If not make it 9k900usd and dont declear nothing will happen becos you havent broken any law. In fact i travelled with around that amount and took it to bureau the change here and converted it to cad and deposited in my account. Its very simple. You can decide to change in bank too just that the price is slightly lower with few cents 2 Likes |
