Ghernot Rhor still remains the best coach we have ever had in a decade. Eguavoen is a coach of permutations and probability. He is repeating the mistakes of previous Nigerian coaches that got them sacked.

THE GAFFE OF THE YEAR AWARDS IS HERE!!!
Entries for gaffe of the year have already begun from 1st January 2022 till 30th November 2022, a recap of our previous winners;

(Inception - 2018): Winner- Iheanacho is better than Mbappe
(2019): Winner- Onyekuru is more intelligent than Mahrez
(2020)- Winner - Fulham is better than Porto
(2021): Winner- Dessers is better than Haarland and Osimhen (author-TheLoneCitizen)

We already have a 2022 contender
- 'Nwakaeme is one of Nigeria's greatest in Europe'(author- TheLoneCitizen) will he win it again this year or will we see braver challengers, we shall see grin

Put aside your emotive and sentiment based ramblings and use a little bit of objectivity garnished with intelligence.

It's 2022 if we could transplant Fulham FC to the Portuguese first tier league. Fulham would be a contender to win the league.

But of course you will disagree.

Football is not necessarily mathematics but we can deduce the team with the better quality players can be considered, at least on paper to be the better team.

Now with an open mind look at the players in Porto FC and look at the players in Fulham. One by one , l challenge and put aside your preconceived notions and tell me who is better.

Fact

Bernardo Silva wasn't happy with his game time last season. He pushed for a move in the beginning of the season, with some clubs already bidding for him sef. But the club , as well as Guardiola refuse to let him go and Guardiola eventually convinced him to stay. Why is that?. It is because Guardiola values him and now look at what he's doing in the team this season.

If the club and/or coach values a player's contribution in a team, they will always make sure the player stays, no matter the amount of bids that comes in for the player. The club can even go as far as giving him a new upgraded contract just to convince such player

Use the same parameter to explain Sancho. A coach can only appeal. After that, it is up to the player. Foden would have left for s better deal earlier in his career and more playing time. He chose to wait. Nacho and Sancho did not want to wait. They wanted a chance of more playing time and better payment packages.

Better late than never. I think Iheanacho's goal against Rennes deserves special mention to his awareness in the box before making the strike.

I was so impressed by his movement that I went to bed with a smile on my face.

Good work young lad and keep firing in goals on all cylinders.

Fulham have money to sign quality players, that's true..it's expected of them....They spent a lot of time in the English top flight...

But in recent years, they have been simply average... Can't maintain their spot in the premier league and can't threaten anybody in cup games... So nothing special about them.... In the here and now!

Most times, he fails to control the ball with that one touch and is quickly crowded out or dispossessed.

Also his pressing, closing space, work rate, ball playing ability, link/hold-up play, speed, physicality & strength etc leaves much to be desired.

His strengths - shooting & clinical finishing.

He's presents a conundrum of sort as he's not the best for the role of an attacking midfielder, support striker or a 9.

Good enough to be a squad player and making substitute appearances but shouldn't be starting games for the Super Eagles as his minuses outweighs what he brings to the team.

It's 2022..

teams mark players by overcrowding them with at least 2 or 3 players whether the player has a poor first touch or not..

This is one of the reasons Tunisia was able to score against the S.E because our players did not overcrowd the Tunisian players any time they had ball in our half of the field.

A mini FC porto (Wolves) took the championship on cruise run

I remember reading somewhere that coaches of other clubs were so frightened and worried that they wanted to file a complain about the quality of players in wolves.....

Fulham better than FC Porto keh

Fulham won't even defeat Braga luck aside

Mancity
Chelsea
Man U
Liverpool

These are the 4 epl teams that are better than Porto

Arsenal
Spurs
West ham
Leicester

These 4 teams can be called Porto standard and can loose or win against Porto .

Look at Luis Diaz already doing well at Liverpool from Porto ,someone like komekn doesn’t know him before he joined Liverpool and he would have easily tell you the guy won’t start at a useless club like Fulham

I lost interest in the SE since Rohr was controversially sacked after meeting all the targets set for him
I don't see Seraso doing anything near what Rohr has achieved for 9ja
I wish Egu the best but we have made a big error sacking Rohr
My enthusiasm to watch the ngr vs gha matches is so low cuz i missed Rohr

You have effectively give credence to my position and opinion.

How much did Porto spend on its current squad of players ❓I guess I should qualify my opinion with the business model of Porto, which is buy them cheap and sell them for much more.

Luis Diaz is an absolute testimony to that approach. By the way l think Diaz is absolutely top class players who by has taken to Liverpool and the EPL like a duck to water.

Fulham are not as keen to sell their players and have a different business model.

So considering what Fulham have spent and the quality of players they have ,do you think they will not be title contenders in the Portuguese league if they were hypothetically speaking somehow transplanted to that league.

They Fulham have not done well in the EPL but played attractive football but lack consistency. With regards to cup games it's not a priority for them they just want to get back into the EPL. Which they effectively have done.

Mitrovich is on near £100k a week not too many teams can afford him in the first instance.

Mitrovich has created the record of the highest number of goals ever scored by s player in a season in the Championship. Fulham also have the highest number of Goals scored by a team in the Championship.

I did not say he is as good as Lewandoski but he is still a very top quality striker.
