Ibime: Any serious right footed player in that position will go for goal.A striker with killer instinct would have hoped to score from a rebound if necessary. Anybody who knows Lukaku even sparingly will know that he always reacts that way to any shot taken which didn't end up at the back of the net. 2 Likes |

Ibime:Lukaku is not intelligent with that move, he crowded the situation for himself and Havertz. As an intelligent attacker you spread the counter because that other defender was already on Havertz. Havertz did the right thing by shooting, lukaku ought to have finish the rebound if he was half intelligent as a striker. He is just brawn and pace with average intelligent. 2 Likes |

hensben: Yeah, Belgium record scorer and current Serie A POTY cannot play elite football. I sorry for all Belgians and Serie A footballers. Hope you know Lukaku is in the top20 all time scorers in EPL? All you are seeing is bad luck of getting injured at the wrong time and lack of confidence of his own making 11 Likes |

Kai can Havertz all. What a goal that was. Sublime. At least we can point to having an intelligent player in the squad. Long may this continue. It's Lille next. We are here to win. 5 Likes |

Ibime:Stat is deceiving and doesn’t tell it all. Ole saw this too and benched him. It’s not by stat padding against San Marino and Cyprus. Serial a is slow which suited his game. |

swiz123: Striker don't make runs for rebounds unless they are completely out of the picture for a pass. At this point the decision is made to go for the cutback run, there is no reason for any striker to believe the defender will catch Havertz unless Havertz loses distance on the defender by poor ball carrying or a suboptimal line of running. The defender is Matt Targett, not Usain Bolt If he went for rebound, he would be behind the defender and you will claim he is hiding 8 Likes

hensben: Someone should please statpad for Chelsea. We can't be seeing Neil Maupay in goalscorers chart with 8 goals and none of our strikers there Lukaku scored 27 goals in his first season at Manure. Name the last Chelsea striker to do that, you'll have to go further back than Diego Costa Infact help me name the 2nd highest goalscorer at the last World Cup or the UEFA Nations league topscorer last season. No Cyrpus there. 10 Likes |

Ibime: You are forming too many hypothesis which isn't surprising whenever you want to cover your favourites. The mofo should have went for a rebound when he saw that the defender has limited Havertz's option to attempting a shot. 3 Likes |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Ibime(m): 3:13am On Mar 14, 2022 |
swiz123: At the time of the cutback run, the defender hadn't limited the option. I don't expect him to go running backpost where Schar has blocked any possible passing line to back post. That run is my favourite run as a striker, and one of the reason I won golden boot in my Uni playing days. There are many ways Havertz could get that ball to the cutback, simplest is running in a straighter line, not cutting the angle to Targett and using his right foot, not that Havertz choice is wrong because he also got his shot away so either way the team has achieved its goal. Swap Havertz for a right footed James and that cutback is coming. That was the correct run. 7 Likes |

Ibime:Like I said stat is deceiving. His game play is average and disrupt Tuchel’s tactics. Now we can see the board forced him on Tuchel to be starting. If not anything this crisis relived Tuchel of that burden. Lukaku lack football basics. Clutch players with technical abilities does it for me, not stat-padding and the team will be suffering and lacking tactical structure. 2 Likes |

hensben: Tuchel signed Lukaku, end of, like you advised him to. His unreliable touch has been known about since he started playing. It didn't stop anything. Apart from that, all you are seeing is lack of confidence. A nigga who shot himself to top 20 EPL all-time goalscorers by the age of 26 is not as clueless at striker work as some would have you believe. Nigga is just at his lowest confidence following that interview on the back of injury. 6 Likes |

Ibime:He was second option because options were limited in the market. That aside, he has never be a clutch player like we know elite attackers for, he either score when the team is leading comfortably or against weak opponents. Rarely do anything against top defenders. He is a mid table striker. If at all, he only strive in counter attack set up. Most of his goals for Belgium are against San Marino, Luxembourg, Cyprus, etc. 1 Like |

hensben: Are you sure you have followed Lukaku’s career because this is reading like recency bias. You can make a good argument that Lukaku is not a good fit for Tuchel’s system or not playing his best football because of a myriad of issues, including self inflicted issues but saying Lukaku can not play elite football is absolutely false and blasphemous. Personally, I think if Chelsea/Tuchel/ Lukaku put the work in mastering and tweaking the tactics, Lukaku can be successful at Chelsea but I doubt Tuchel has that time, especially at this critical point of the season and that is why he is sticking with what works. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Roland17: For me, it's the price tag. Yes he can play elite football, and yes he's probably suffering from slumped confidence, but it's what happens when he's not scoring that matters to me. For £100m, you buy elite-level dynamism, which sets the player apart the moment he's on the ball. Elite-level dynamism is what you see in their tactical play, technical awareness, and as I always say, their technical ability on the ball. It's what makes them go to the right channel, left channel, midfield, and destroy opponents, bring their team mates into play and improve overall technical structure of the team, even when they are struggling in front of goal. This elite-level dynamism, Lukaku lacks. So when he's not scoring, it is not good to watch. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Ibime you are making it look like Hojberg has too much limited space to throw in that pass. In image 1, did you consider the space AFTER the frame? Look at where Kane finally connected with the ball in image 2. And contrary to what you want us to believe, the farther the pass, the harder the accuracy. You can't tell me that an over the top long pass from the halfway line is easier than a chip in front of penalty box. Odiro possible biko. 4 Likes 1 Share

hensben: If he attempts to run the ball in tight spaces, he will end up embarrassing himself. All his stans complained that is it everybody's fault that he isn't getting services , we warned them that a good striker doesn't need to be spoon-fed. They said we don't create chances but immediately his mediocre ass was dropped, chances started coming. Now, all his stans have seen what we have known all these while except popi who wants to head to North London in search of a locksmith to unlock his bag of beans. 4 Likes |

EmmanuelScott1:. Western hypocrisy for you. Ban Russian oil in public and U.S. buys quietly. At least the E.U. was honest enough to admit it needs Russian oil. Just like they all claim to hate ISIS and ISIL but buy ISIS and ISIL-control oil through proxies: https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2015/12/6/isil-sells-its-oil-but-who-is-buying-it . Despite U.S. sanctions on Syria, it still gets thousands of barrels of oil daily from Syria. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MTTIMUSSY1&f=M https://www.bbc.com/news/50464561 |

Ibime:Lol, it's only trash because it doesn't align with your thoughts today. Hojberg pass is just an up through ball that's mostly triggered by strikers run. Kane was already making the run (seeing the space afforded) and hojberg (in sync) capitalized on it. I mean any professional midfielder can attempt such a pass. Stop making it seem as if na one " once in a season stuff". That's a chipped pass and we all know that space is not little(the way you're making us believe) compared to the distance at the back post and the run advantage Kane already had over the defender (who'll need to turn before running). Moreover, hojberg was even at the center area of the pitch sef, making it easier to give that chipped pass. Compared to Jorg whose distance is farther(very far to be honest), at a side of a pitch and have two attackers to pick out yet he isolated and picked havertz with that pass. Only someone who has an agenda against Jorg will say that pass was easier to make than hojberg. While I respect that you play ball well, but they put others for here at the back of your mind say we play ball too. 7 Likes |

It's funny how people view that Jorg pass as just a "long ball" dropping it into space. Making it seem as if that pass no get intent and vision Swap Jorg name with iniesta, fabregas and pirlo and we'll be hearing praises of Hollywood passe by those legends. Even Rodri and fabinho never do this wan yet(this season) but we still dey hear alert from Popi once in a while about them 3 Likes |

Jodera: This is quite a foolish argument, as if Havertz wasn't making a run or as if any midfielder needs to see a run to know where to drop a through ball. Havertz had started making his run ogbeni, and if Kane run was a trigger faster, that's because he knows what Hojberg will do having received numerous of those passes 2 Likes |
