You're right. But first of all, stupidity is when one thing does not lead to another, yet everyone choose to believe it does. It shows some lack of common sense. If anklets were intrinsically bad, then bracelets and other articles must be bad as well.

Most cultural perceptions and values are both scientifically and logically baseless, that's why they always change with time and societal development. Relationship and business wise we must respect them for peace to reign, but that does not give any credence or sensibility.
