I don't really like this. People come here for advice and may not get sarcasm. Please do not lie to your doctors. Get some cocodamol over the counter. Even better, if you have no contraindications,is some ibuprofen for just 5 days please.

If it gets much worse, call 999 for an ambulance or if you can , and only if you can, drive to an A&E.

Unfortunately, A and E waits can vary from 5 hours to 24 hours.

Indeed, if you lie long enough and hard enough,you will indeed get some treatment. However, as no medical intervention is 100% safe, you will have exposed yourself to some nasties for nothing.

By all means , use the urgent care. You will be seen and be sent right back to your GP if not deemed hospital worthy.

A GP practice will tell you to only call at 8:00 am. There will be thousands calling at the same time. You don’t get through. You complain about problem with your skin, the GP practice insists on a phone/video appointment call. Me that is using a Nokia Torchlight. Me that is black skinned. How can video call help GP to examine me.

We (at least myself) don’t need the newspapers to tell me that GPs are LAZY. They use the excuse of CoViD to hide behind phone and video appointments.

well captured. If you complain on two or three issues, they will tell you that they only have 10min for you and that they will only attend to one. Very nasty experience with this UK GPs. Abeg Naija medical system seems to be better than this. Save for the fake drugs

If you're working, see if your company offers private health insurance, and where this is the case, avail of it in the event of another episode.
It's going to take a few years to sort out the NHS.

Or move to Scotland, the system's not as broken there, I gather.

My dependant's visa application was submitted the first week of February. Didn't hear any more thing from UKVI.
I called last week and was told the decision was made on ~February 14th. I asked them to escalate.

Out of curiosity, I went to the post office today, and speculatively presented page 1 of the application form. The woman came back with a BRP in a brown envelope. She asked for the Passport and vignette, I could not present it. She said the BRP was received by them since February 20th.

I called UKVI again. The lady rudely told me that my issue was escalated, and I should wait for another 15 working days.

Does anyone have an idea where my dependant's passport maybe? UKVI? Home Office? TelePerformace? IS there any number or contact that folks have used previously, please? Help me biko.

Even during the heat of Covid, if you need to call phone numbers for sampling, it was free in England and Wales, but you pay in Scotland. Scotland will claim "we get our prescriptions for free while england pay 9 pounds" well that is true. what they will not tell you is that they pay more tax in scotland.

And the statement about calling numbers re Covid, I dont think that's the correct position, I visit Scotland (Edinburgh) regularly for work and I simply don't believe Nicola will allow anything that is "free" in England and Wales to be "paid" in Scotland, especially Covid-related, she's that obsessed with drawing the distinction. Check your phone plan.

But you get "free" prescriptions, "free" 30 hours funded places for nursery school for all, "free" bus travel for young people and the elderly, etc.
Someone has to pay somewhere.
Never lose sight of that fundamental fact.
