I once caught one Dr knacking a nurse in one of the private ward at night when we took a patient on emergency to one private hospital , the nurse can be somebody's wife. It wasn't a good sight at all. This things are common during night duties, that's when they knack themselves Hospitals become Night Clubs. Either Dr knack nurse, or patients or patient relative knack nurse .. Discipline really has to be instituted. 2 Likes |

Later talk about harassment from Nurses too. Don't be biased. Do not think that the handsome doctors don't get harassed by female doctors/nurses too. 1 Like |

The reason why my now Doctor friend changed from Physics to study M&S, he told me to sexually harass young ladies. So he is now a licenced sexual harasser ,cool. That demon doesn't care whether you are professional or amateur. It simply manifest in people, doctors or dick-heads. 1 Like |

Amarabae: Licensing means almost nothing in Nigeria. In a corrupt country nearly anything goes. The license will only have weight if there are strict regulation put in place , which at the moment there seem to be none. There are no guidelines to follow, and some doctors do unnecessary procedures to make ends meet, and many nurses treat patients with non-chalance Even professionals do not have intra or inter professional harmony, so it's one health care professional against the other. Go to nursing council and see how older nurses and admin staff treat those registering with disdain. The license is supposed to be a revered documents but at the moment it's just a piece of paper. My advice to health care professionals is to get that license, and if they ever want to feel what safe and professional care is, to migrate to saner countries where a license really means something. It's 2019 you wrote this, but in 2022 this is the true state of things. 2 Likes |

Blackdisciple: She's hyping her profession. Even in advanced countries with top regulations, people have been caught after years of sexual misbehaviour. The difference is they have a good system were offender will be caught in the end, while Nigeria has a crap regulatory system, whose God and Master is quick money making 1 Like |

Have I as a female doctor been sexually harassed by a male doctor? The answer is yes. More than once by the same person. In both professional and non- professional setting. Did I report him? Nope. The drawbacks outweighed the benefits. It didn't help that his father was a notable politician then, and I didn't want to bring trouble to the reputation of family members in my place of work then. The guy is now in UK, and I'm still here. But the one thing I know is this. Male doctors are first of all men, before they are doctors. Sexual harassment tells more about the person himself, not the profession. Male doctor can flirt, but never in a professional setting, and never with a woman who has clearly not given you green light, or consent to do so, verbally or non verbally, in the hospital,or elsewhere. The profession takes such allegations very seriously. There was a classmate of mine who allegedly raped a girl on Valentine's day or so in our final year of med school. Two other ladies came out with a similar story. This happened close to the final year exams. The school didn't allow him write the exams, and when he thought he could write the resit, he was booted out by a lecturer on the first resit paper. I doubt they graduated him till today. What I heard was that he was rusticated. It goes both ways. Will attempts be made? Yes. What matters is response to that situation. I am not an apologist, nor am I defending harassers. But some of your stories on this forum are reaching. A doctor sleeping with a pregnant woman? Is the woman his patient? I no dey for that one. I comot my hand for that matter 3 Likes |

Kittex7: Some of them do.. u know some women become sexualy active when pregnant. While some ignorant men dont like having sex with their pregnant wife so prefer doing it outside To keep their baby safe while some find their wife sexually unattractive during pregnancy. Some sdoctores take the advantage when the women report such issue to them. Im not saying all doctores sleep with pregnant women.. i said some. Just like we have bad pastors bad lawyers bad everything.. so doctors are not exmpted 3 Likes |

Martinez39: Ideally, your topic should be titled: Harrassment From Medical Colleagues. Your topic (and many like this created by som feminist) seek to pitch one gender against the other. It's counter productive, leaves both sides fighting each other and cause intersex arguments. |

Chipink: You mentioned a WhatsApp group, when you are told what you want to hear. Please stop insinuating negatives. Nurses and doctors are professionals who at time of training, are brought up to manage humans in the most precarious and sensitive nature of humans. That they see nudity all the time does not mean they abuse or harrass patients. Please they are trained. Maybe you haven't heard of oathof secrecy, patient's bill of rights and patient confidentiality. These are entities no medical practioneer or in any of the allied profession plays with. Your reputation and license are at stake when questions are raised as regards those, against you. So, please and please stop talking into what you do not know. Keep mute |
