If you get that right, your car could easily be resold at a good price, no matter the brand.

For Toyota, there's Corolla, Yaris, etc.
For Nissan, there's Sentra, Sunny, etc.

1. Are you looking to buy New, Tokunbo or Nigerian used?
2. What model years are you looking at? 2005 to 2010 or something more recent 2013 to 2019?

Hondas had poor re-sale value in the past because of the poor maintenance habits of the owners then.
But now, people know well to only use Honda fluids (and nothing else) in Hondas.

yes I respect this opinion, people have more knowledge on how to maintain Honda cars,I swear bro you hardly see Honda with k-leg on northern roads now compare to when people had poor knowledge about the car and on how to keep it running,can't compare the knowledge people have about Honda in late 90s and early 2000s compare to now.(people are living in the past, de don't know ) even jiji prices has changed coupled with the Buhari's effect.

what you said its 100% true,once you suggested Honda to a prospective buyer the first thing you will hear is I heard the leg de commot,the whole leg thing in accord has dented the image of Honda ESPECIALLY in southern Nigeria, some even believe 2022 accord leg will still pull out,the level of ignorance about Honda is the highest I've seen,but the funny thing is Honda has never seen the leg pull of a thing as a factory defect hence never bothered about recall, is more of a "Nigerian " problem not seen as a global issue like the gear issues,one of the easiest way of identifying someone with a better knowledge about Honda cars or cars generally is someone that don't mention leg pull when you are suggesting honda brands like Crv,civic, Odyssey,city, fit etc,but bro you are right the leg thing REALLY affected Honda's image in Nigeria,the reason why it has not really done much damage to the northern market has to do with the environment there favoring the brand and having mechanics with much knowledge on the car due to how it was widely accepted there,southern market is for Toyota, Lexus and Benz that's just the truth.

you said you need a car with good fuel economy,cheap parts,don't know about your location if the road network is good,then civic fits in what you are looking for,meaning no need to worry about the legs cos civic don't have leg issue, would have suggested year model for you,but unfortunately I don't know your budget,if your road network is bad but your budget is good,then you can look into CRV,meaning no leg issues to worry about also with crv,and it comes in 4 cylinder so better fuel economy also, how ever not as economical like the Civic, both awesome and great rides,didn't suggest accord because it seems you worried about the K-leg issue,but if you are the type that maintains your car VERY well then you won't have any worry with the accord also.

the 8th generation Civic from 2006-2011 model,very reliable car with very excellent fuel economy and cheap parts,don't bother the leg no de break at all
