I will advise to find a recruitment agency in your location and register, there few are jobs in the east and most firm or employer source for applicants from recruitment agencies.
If you want to work in lagos, focus on job with accommodation since you don't have someone there. U can easily find such jobs when you register with certain recruitment agency in Lagos. |

Are these courses on Linked-in or where can they be found sir? Yes, they're on LinkedIn, but you will need a paid premium account for that. And that already defeats the purpose of the course being free, right? You can also find some of those courses on Udemy, edX, Harvardonline, coursera, youtube, etc. These are some of the most reputable channels. There are others. Cc: Milesbillions |

Milesbillions: I just concluded my service year on February 2022....barely a month ago and I'm still job hunting, although I have submitted so many applications but the job invites that are coming through are from lagos.
I'm currently in the east. Don't have anybody to stay with in Lagos for now. Now, I'm somebody that like to get a work in career or field that does not allign with my course of study, remember...I studied Animal and Environmental Biology and I came out with a good 2:1. In terms of job opportunities in Nigeria in respect to what I studied, it is very limited and chances of me getting in a job is very slim considering Nigeria factors as I don't have any connection.
A friend adviced me to go for my masters abroad and I told him, there is no money to do the initial processes although I believe in myself that I can get full funding if I apply but the money to write the necessary exams is not around, reason I'm trying my best to get a work of any kind that doesn't necessarily require what I did in school. So many people are doing it and if I ask them, they will say, they got it through graduate trainees and entry level roles in organizations and firms
I'm somebody that likes working in logistics company and as a customer representative but the major hindrance I'm having right now, is not having the experiences that will make me to work in those fields. Some, if not all of the job offers I always come across require for 1-3 years experience which I Don't have.
So guys, what's the best way to get through this? Just one month out of service and I'm already feeling bored at home doing nothing apart from helping my parents in the farm works and reading a basic course on UI/UX designing?
Please any advice of any kind is duely welcomed. Insults are welcomed too. I out here to learn because, nobody knows it all.
About digital skills....I can write but currently don't have a system to do the job again.

The mods please help me move it to the right thread and if possible, Front page. one of the easiest ways to get job experience in Nigeria is to volunteer/ intern for free in a firm. Bro,if Mohammad refuses to come to the mountain, the mountain will come to him. 3 months after service (NYSC) no work. I began thinking. Most of the firms I applied to wanted a minimum of 2 years experience.and I had just one from my service year and many firms don't like a CV with NYSC experience as your only working experience. I woke up one day, dressed up and began visiting firms for fun . I walked into the garage of a multinational logistics company ,met the workshop manager and told him I was a young engineering graduate looking for experience .He told me that there wasn't any vacancy and I insisted that I can intern/work for free. He was impressed and told me he did the same as a young graduate, eventually getting employed and rising to managing an expanding fleet of over 200 trucks. He took me on unofficially and I began my learning. It wasn't easy but I worked for free for months. I got valuable experience that helped me gain a job with another multinational production company less than half a year later. I even had 3 job offers to choose from. one from where I was working for free, another from my present workplace and another from a firm in Lagos. make no mistake ,it wasn't easy ,am not there yet but am on an enjoyable and financially stable path in my engineering field. in Nigeria , getting the best paying jobs is through "I know pesin " or being exceptionally good at what you do (experience),it's mostly a combination of the two.
By working for free, I gained a connection that hundreds of fresh graduates applying to same firm won't ever get ,plus I got the experience 3 Likes |

Lastly, you will suffer. Trust me. How does his having money (which he doesn't have) make him secure a job? I don't understand |
