gbengafaro1986: This brings total divided to N1 when the interim dividend of 30kobo is added |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 1:19pm On Mar 18, 2022 |
chibjohn: That is Nigeria stock market for you. Any company with good result and dividend payout plan should move the price upward. We are so much attached to dividend in this world. When company payout large proportion of profit as dividend, how will they grow? is it not better a company withholds entire profit and use the money for expansion of business? Investors can recoup their money through capital appreciation. Google and Tesla don't dividend but good results skyrocket the price 1 Like |

Mpeace: That N4.58 EPS is over stated. Not all of it belongs to shareholders. It needs to be corrected for non controlling interests and for the entitlements of Additional Tier 1 capital owners. The bank issued additional tier 1 capital of $500m (translated as N206.4b) in the year. Also total dividend comes to N1 when interim dividend of 30kobo is added. The true earning per share (to holders of shares) is about N3.6 3 Likes |

BabsO2: Looks like ACCESS bank is the first to raise additional tier 1 capital through instruments other than shares. That N4.58 EPS stated on their issued annual report will fool some people. 2 Likes |

BabsO2:Will the raising of additional tier 1 capital dilute existing access bank shareholders? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 2:02pm On Mar 18, 2022 |
petaling:That will be perfectly okay as long as the management are equally investors like me in the company. They won't have monthly/yearly payments so that we all benefit from share appreciation /investment in the company. This will make them guided in every decision concerning the company, lol 2 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BabsO2(m): 2:35pm On Mar 18, 2022 |
Wapgod: It shouldn't, because if the money is working hard as per strategy it should deliver value. However one has to be careful with calculating entitlements to shareholders and not erroneously take the additional capital and income from its deployment as belonging to shareholders. And when computing profit attributed to shareholders or EPS to ensure what is due to these tier 1 capital owners has been correctly accounted for. |

chibjohn:Access is making the investor community to think that their EPS is like an audio earnings. If not, how can you explain paying less than one quarter of your earnings as dividend. Expansion today, acquisition tomorrow, when will their investors start enjoying dividend commensurate with their earnings. Albeit, this their policy on dividend is not encouraging. That is why the price has been struggling to enter the double digit for some years now. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Shared with me via a telegram group. WHAT TO DO AT THE PEAK OF UNCERTAINTY Firstly, it goes without saying that diversification between different shares is of utmost importance. Don’t put your hope on just a handful of shares. While investors should be prepared for additional volatility, history does seem to suggest that share declines associated with geopolitical fears are generally temporary setbacks and a potential opportunity to buy at discounted prices, especially if one has a long-term view. Do not just sell and ask questions later. Selling can stop short-term pain but cause major long-term damage. Selling in uncertain geopolitical events monetises losses. Market corrections are usually your best opportunity to invest for the future. Stay focused on your personal investment goals and strategy and remove the emotions from your decision making. Emotional reactions remain the main enemy to long-term wealth creation. Trying to time the market can cost you dearly. Do not sell and think you are going to wait for the war to be over and for markets to be safer. In most circumstances, the market will bounce back, and you have to buy back at higher levels. As Warren Buffet said: “It’s time in the market, not timing the market”. Most of the best days also happen after the worst days. This occurrence also usually happens in the middle of a crisis which makes it even harder to predict. The Nasdaq, for example, increased by 3.6% on March 9 2022 in the midst of the war. Make sure your provision for income or any form of short-term needs is in place. Share investments are for the longer term. It is the macro-economic picture and even more pertinently the prospects for company profit that tends to determine what happens to the market over the medium to longer-term, not wars or geopolitical events. 7 Likes |

gbengafaro1986:Lol at explain to me like 5yrs old... Well from my understanding here: 1. Access Bank is transiting to HOLDCo structure.. 2. Already got an approval to go ahead with the scheme of arrangement thru a Court Ordered meeting held with her shareholders.... 3. The entire issued ànd fully paid up shares of ACCESS BANK PLC will be deleted..........and the same entire shares will now be re-listed under ACCESS HOLDING PLC....... 4. The process (in number 3) will be done before payment of dividend on April 28, 2022.... 5. Payment of Final dividend of 0.70k will now come under "ACCESS HOLDING PLC (HOLDCo).......no longer under Access Bank... 6. Since the payment of the Final Dividend will be coming under ACCESS HOLDCO for the first time, it will be regarded as "interim dividend' ......'Interim' from ACCESS HOLDCO.......AND "Last and Final Dividend from Access Bank...... **Item 7** If you have Access bank shares, you don't have to panic, you'll all be moved to Access HOLDCo and still collect your menu (dividend) and continue from there ** ......just like GTB did. That's what I understand it to be........ we'll get to know more details from analysts maybe later. 7 Likes 1 Share |
