My problem with Umahi is that he seems to be quite good in the civil engineering and construction part of his urban and rural regeneration efforts, but he doesn’t seem to care much about greenery and landscaping around the projects constructed!

Look at the pics attached in the OP. Some of those projects have been completed more than two years ago, yet all you see is concrete all over the place! The motorway in the first pic, by now ought to have matured trees lining it on either side! You can imagine the amount of heat coming off all that concrete and tar! Besides helping to mop up the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, trees also help to cool the environment! Ever notice how you cool down a bit on a hot day when you’re walking on a street with heavy tree covering!?

Even Sokoto has more tree-lined streets than any city in the south-east! And anyone who thinks otherwise can buttress their assertion with pics!

It’s annoying that we think of the bigger things, when the smaller things, that need little effort or funds to achieve remain undone! Was watching a video of the newly opened Anambra airport….recorded few days ago, and they’ve still not planted trees on the airport road or carpet-grassed its median and sides; the airport parking lot as well as the airside of the airport (where you have the runway, apron, etc) still has bare brown earth yet to be grassed. This is months after the airport was opened for business!

He really tried, he can now go home and rest.

God bless Dave Umahi and punish PDP for trying to distract this gentleman
