Funfact: Since his debut vs Argentina in November 2017, Uzoho is yet to concede a direct FK Goal for Nigeria in a real march situation. He has faced Messi, Sigurdsson, Trippier and even Lewy (I think?) from Direct FK situations and came out on top.

Then comes Iheanacho in 2022, albeit in training, and Uzoho is beaten effortlessly.

Relax. It seems some of you in here don't rate Nacho's left foot. grin

Isn't it crazy how Uzoho who has held his own against much tougher world class opponents is second fiddle to Maduka who was struggling against Sierra Leone and Cabo Verde?

Perception is perspectives and that's created from personal experience and understanding.

It's mostly emotive and not objective.

I've watched the never ending crucifixion of Okoye all his good work forgotten for one perceived mistake. A mistake that was a catalogue of errors concluding in a left hand ✋ that just didn't have in enough strength to divert a ball that bubbled before he could reach it .

The preference for Uzoho is based on what ❓ what inspires confidence in one is still perspective based on emotive preference .

I've not seen one person break down by calculated measured assessment what Uzoho does that makes him better than Okoye. There is not one objective based assesment, just preference.

If Uzoho was so good , he should be first choice goal keeper and outstanding in club and league albeit it a backwater league rated close to 20. But is he ❓❓

Too many are quick to castigate and harangue Okoye all for one lapse.

Let's now see what Uzoho will do in this match, the value of something is only appreciated when it's not there.

Thelonecitizen and thesupernerd have once done a statistical comparison of Maduka and Uzoho in the GWG and Uzoho clearly edged him..
You are talking as if you don't know the history of goalkeeping in Nigeria.. We have always been known for producing good goalkeepers, and wherever they play doesn't matter as long as they are good..
Where did you put this energy when Rohr called up Maduka from the German fourth division?
where was this energy when Uzoho was unjustly pushed to second choice because he got injured..
You can sugarcoat it as much as you like, but the fact remain that as long as the super eagles is concerned, Maduka hasn't done anything to justify his inclusion as the first choice..it doesn't matter if he is playing for Man City..it is his performance in the super eagles that we should be more concerned about..

Ghana vs Nigeria: WC Ticket Battle

Iheanacho buries a beautiful FK beyond Francis Uzoho in training.

Uzoho looks stunned and smiles. Nacho returns the smile that says "I own you bro" grin

If Nacho should start (I honestly don't want him to due to the imbalance it would create in the midfield), he should be taking our set pieces including corners.. His delivery are much better than Simon's

Ejuke is a trickster but far too predictable. He basically does two things. If you don't mark him, he'll try to take the shortest diagonal to the 18 yard box. If you mark him on time, he'll push down to the corner flag. Passing is almost non-existent

Don't get mesmerized by sheer skillful display. Chukwueze is more unpredictable and productive.

What you just described, is what any dribbler will perform depending on circumstances. The goal is to transition the ball closer to the opponent in order to create a scoring chance. The goal of every dribbler is to either move the ball to an open or free space, or to create a space.

If we have the space, we can move the ball freely to create scoring chances. Passes, dribbles with the ball and player movements are all important in the science of creating spaces.

Delightfully watch the following video of Ejike and notice how he looks for spaces to exploit, and how he goes on to create spaces when he can't find any. Notice his switch of plays in order to move the ball to areas with more free space.. He looks like a midfielder and a forward crammed into one.

Exactly. Uzoho became world class suddenly after Maduka came on the scene.

Saved vs Messi at Russia 2018 WC. He practically tipped Messi's Goal bound effort to the post.

Saved vs Trippier Prior to the 2018 WC at Wembley.

Saved vs Sigurdsson at Russia 2018 WC. He kept a cleansheet as well in that same game becoming Africa's youngest GK to do so.

Is that enough for you? Do you think I would reference that funfact if he didn't save any? Guy, drop the uzoho talk down.

I agree with you. Iheanacho shouldn't start as our Middle game dynamics will suffer some deficiencies but indeed his technique when striking a ball or crossing it, is up there with some of the best.
