And I'm saying that earning more money doesn't necessarily translate to a higher quality of life.

How much of the increased minimum wage just ends up getting passed on to the consumer? How much does it increase the barrier of entry into the market for entrepreneurs?

Furthermore, what is the median cost of rent, utilities, feeding, healthcare, etc in the state?

also, this might educate you. it may help you with the confusion you have gathered from the propaganda you ingest.
Biden wants to distribute $400 a month to subsidize high gas prices... what do you think will happen? that's your home work

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gycgEsHXIc

Everyone wants to subsidise gas prices when they rise. Below is Rishi reducing tax on petrol. It's vote buying, but that seems to be politics of today of spend now and pay later.

As for what would happen, people will have more money to spend on petrol, and hopefully petrol price would drop before more freebies are needed, though with Russia, and the threat of sanctioning them further, higher prices wouldn't surprise me.

I share your opinion. Jerome Powell has been around awhile printing money for just about any asset he can find, thereby reducing purchasing power of the dollar, while enriching asset holders.

He's trying to fix it by increasing interest rates, but he's way far behind the curve.

You know nothing about inflation, Ben. The Fed was pumping money into assets for years which inflated prices and devalued the dollar, but to you it's, Biden Biden.

The dollar has not yet been devalued, infact it has gained strength relative to the major currencies. That may be to come. The inflation we are seeing now is from increase in money supply, Supply Chain problems due to pandemic and rising cost of energy

You do not spend "relative to the major currencies". And if all currencies lose value, the one losing less seems strong.

See purchasing power deteriorating over years. https://wolfstreet.com/2022/03/10/whoosh-dollars-purchasing-power-plunges-in-february-inflation-spreads-across-services-fed-still-pours-fuel-on-it/

Inflation results from years of policies that cause it, and Biden is much less responsible for it than the fed that has been pumping money into assets and thereby inflating what they cost. But I guess that's way beyond your comprehension level.

If that's the case, Biden and his minions will be addressing the people and telling them how this inflation is as a result of the path the government from past to present has taken instead of blaming Putin for everything. grin
damage control will not work here. everyone expected inflation because of the pandemic but not like this.

You can't blame everything in the economy on Putin': Ex-Obama advisor says people 'DON'T believe' Biden's claim Russian leader is responsible for price hikes and knew there was inflation before the invasion

'Biden was saying, you know, everything is Putin’s price hikes. Inflation is Putin's fault. People don’t believe that either,' David Axelrod said
'They know that we had inflation before this. They know that gas prices were high before this so they haven't dialed this in quite right,' he said
'Why not just be blunt with people,' the Obama staffer added

Biden has recently recruited and deployed TikTokers to blame soaring inflation on Putin

Gas prices had already been on the rise well before Putin's invasion - in November Biden released 50 million barrels of oil to alleviate prices

what did Biden do about their energy sector when he took office? do you think the rising price of gas will further cause more inflation? all these are from the previous admin policies abi?

when you pay people not to work
lock down the country with no return in sight just because you can always blame it on russia...

thankfully, polls suggest americans blames the Dems on this one... they might see the propaganda but their pocket is more convincing.

inflation is innveitable. how sharply it climbs is what the focus should be and what they are doing to contain it... Biden is not doing a good job and it may reach 9% in the next report coming next month. the 7.9% was before the russia invasion, biden is annoucing shortage of food.... make we they see

Did you know OPEC was an American idea to control how much crude is pumped out the ground? Unfortunately, America could not join a cartel, so limited it to external production which they pretty much controlled.

Keystone, yes, plus NordStream 2, while we are at it, but expect tears in Nigeria and other oil producing countries, which will cause a world recession.

Politics, Ben. They say what benefits them, but unfortunately, blaming past administrations wouldn't work, as every sensible person knows the Fed is more to blame here, and the Fed is not affiliated to any party.

Got to say, I'm watching how this plays out. Inflation by the next election will kill Biden and Harris, and increase competition in the GOP, but before then, Powell might be thrown on the unemployed heap if he attacks inflation as much as he ought to because the result will be a recession.

I mean, if you're going to bring Nigeria into it, then expect real tears when the left starts to move away from oil towards 'green' energy.

Still on Nigeria, expect tears when left instigates and destabilizes one of the biggest economies in your continent, thus leading to the militarization of radical Islamist groups in your region and a decade-long fight against terrorism.... oh wait

The good thing about inflation is, companies would increase prices and unfortunately increase inflation, which just might make it profitable to reduce cost by making in America and eliminating high transport costs. Expect higher wages though, as it costs more to make in America than import from China, and expect an increase in immigration to mitigate since Americans don't make much anymore.

On this, I share your "make we they see".

Green energy wouldn't be a thing in Nigeria for a long while. All the gas guzzlers in America and Europe will end up in Nigeria first since we don't even have the electricity for electric cars. Then there's Dangote's refinery, which will decrease our dollar outflow. Hopefully, it will generate power too, then we can rename him Mr Let There Be Light, and Petrol.

of course, they say what benefits them... America is in a pandemic. Warnings of inflation is going on, Biden and his friends want to indefinitely lockdown the country, they predict inflation then recovery... that's not what we are seeing. The US has the pandemic to deal with then Biden came and started making blunders, asking others to pollute the world which will make no difference if they themselves pollute it. now they are energy-dependent. The pump price is going up and that will affect other stuff.

Build back better is Biden listening to fools like AOS during when they needed to tackle the inevitable inflation.

Inflation is inevitable but Biden has done nothing to contain it even with the hindsight he is making matters worse.

Now he is stupidly blaming Russia when he could just explain to everyone why things are like this.... The polls are not looking good for the dems and they are doubling down on their mistakes because russia is there to take the blame.

Export of what, exactly?

Solve Nigeria's fuel and electricity problems, and Nigerians will produce things to export. Dangote alone will export fertilisers, fuel, and lots of other crude oil derived products.

Just destroying fuel subsidy is good for Nigeria, even if it's now paid to Dangote. I wouldn't be surprised if importers pay boko haram to blow his refinery up. Even his pipeline from Delta (I'm hoping he built one and doesn't rely on trucks and tankers) would be under threat for the disruption his refinery will cause.

I'm starting to see some disturbing similarities between political ideology and fundamentalist religion. The ability to convince people into holding evidently nonsensical beliefs is unbelievable.

A woman is an adult human female. A human female has two X chromosomes. It's as simple as that.

Shows you are waking up, and I got to confess that I am seeing it in the quality of your discourse.

Every politician literally claims to be the messiah, but the wise know they are there more for what they can accumulate than what they can do for others, though they hope others benefit too so they can get elected again.
