AIG07:

In 2006, Taiye Taiwo thunder strike was the difference, In 2008, we matched them man for man in all departments but lost with a single goal margin.

No matter how poor or limp the SEs can be, when it's time to face these countries, expect nothing but the best from them.

Argentina
Ghana
Cameroon

If you want to see the best of Eagles, pair them against the above national team and these countries knows this and come prepared.

I am in no way writing off our chances, mine is this, its a 50/50 duel. It could go either way. Banking on our current form and their recent woes and thinking it's going to be a walk in the park for us could be our undoing. Approaching the two legged WCQ games with the right mindset is key to our qualification.
Home/Away/Neutral Ground,
Nigeria Vs Ghana will always be 50/50.

Our boys tried and held there own against the black stars of Ghana.

The ticket to Qatar will be won from the sidelines.

We can only hope addo doesn't outclass Eguavon in Abj. Cause that alone will smell doom for the local coaches. A loss will mean an end to local coaches appointment

even the likes of jay jay and Kanu were held in Accra during the 2002 World Cup qualifiers but you guys got trashed in ph so you should cover your face in shame that you guys weren’t able to seize the advantage of winning at home

Hv u asked your self if not for var we got a pk which would hv been easily dispatched which will make matters worst for you guys in the return leg?
forget about the var issue, it was a clear foul and u know it now in 2002 the format was different and we had already failed to qualify unlike now that its still open plus an away goals rule also exist...if u guys like bring that already qualified mentality to abuja, you will see who will cry.

Playing away in Africa is not always an easy task; be it likes of Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda etc.

Our boys coped very fine and were better coordinated than the Ghanaian team.

An away draw at this stage of the qualifiers is not a bad one.
No matter how you look at it, Nigeria has the advantage going into the second leg.

Take it or leave it we might lose, i saw that in this game, but this is not what i want. Football is a game of tactics. It is understanding your weaknesses and the opponent's weakness.

I have been talking so much about our poor decision making and poor composition of play. Eguavoen's system made it worse The Ghanaian coach probably knew this and used high pressing to force us into errors. For instance, how can Ekong deliver his long balls when he is under pressure. But i tell you this, this Ghanaian squad are poor tools for high pressing.
A sound coach will deal with them.

your coach is predictable so has he made ur players, all we need to do is to continue what we did in kumasi, the only difference will be that after 30mins of no goals in abuja, the home crowd will rather turn on ur team

lemme tell u the real truth, most people here in ghana knew we had a bad team and were worried about losing or conceeding goals but the only thing that motivated us was that we were playing against nigeria.... Its that mentality that will take us to abuja,, anybody but nigeria.. Its a strong motivator !

We all become prime analysts after the game. You didn't know this? He brings in Lookman, who no play anything, 'Oh no he should have started Lookman Ahead of Moses Simon'. Some said, oh don't play 4 2 4, he started with it, changes it to a more balanced midfield, someone says, 'Oh no he should have continued with 4 2 4. Believe me if he starts Lookman in place of Moses Simon, and he doesn't perform, believe me, some of us will say, 'Oh, why would any serious coach start him, he's not used to the physicality of African football'. Lookman was quite lost for the most part, which i understand, hopefully he learns. Anywhere Bele face analysts. Meanwhile The same Rohr dey use Simon and Chukwueze constantly. But never mind, you and i agree he's at best average.

Another senior analyst is telling us to adopt a passing philosophy. Are you kidding me? Where is the personnel? Even for the club football we are all watching no be every great coach they adopt am. I understand him though, he's a Guardiola faithful. cheesy. Ofcourse stringing some passes is good. I mean how can you build up without it? Their passing today was actually ok, excluding the first 25/30 minutes. Horrible.

No mind me abeg i like to cause trouble sometimes. cheesy

All in all Eguaveon better not fail us in Abuja. Whatever he go do to win that match he better do.

Gammfreak:
Most of you here are complaining about chukwueze.....okay when lookman and Dennis came what did they do. How about moses simon who lost most of the balls, but at least chukwueze gave a good pass to aribo and a good cross to oshimen....
U guys def.

Balogun, Ekong, Aina and Uzoho were immense today...

Ghana did nothing special today to suggest that they will be a threat to us in Abuja..
But if Eguavon decided to be goat headed and play 4-4-2 again, we might as well kiss the ticket good bye...

It would have been great with Ndidi.. But Etebo and Onyeka held their own

Etebo has no business sitting on the bench. We don't need a defensive midfielder against Ghana, We need two CMs in the middle.

Here’s what I just posted on Twitter:

Quick question for @thenff and @PinnickAmaju: can Eguaveon be taken off this team before the return leg on Tuesday? Hand the team over to Amuneke and Samson Siasia to complete the job.

That’ll be the best decision for us, if we really want to win on Tuesday.

O pari

ThankGod you are not the one making decisions for us o
You own worse abeg!!!
U want sack coach 4 days to a crucial game like this
That Ghana stadium was suppose to hold 40k fans @ maximum, but Ghana FA allowed 70k fans just to create a hostile atmosphere for us!
Take it or leave it, we did well!!!
Italy lost yesterday to a less fancy team!
Even Rohr's team that defied the odds back in 2018 did not win Cameroon away (1:1) and still could not beat Algeria away (1:1) before FIFA awarded 3:0 last, last.
The boys try abeg!!!
And this Amunike you're banking on, I hope it's not based on his under 17 exploits Because we all know that if caf did not increase the nations from 16-24 he will not have qualified his team to nations cup. He did not win his group! He qualified as runners up!!!

Eguavoen subbing him off helped the team because it was obvious that sanusi was tired and the Ghanaians wanted to penetrate through his position

Bring in Calvin was a master class by the coaching crew.
