Think about it.

The protest

1.Happened in Kabul...where most Western media have their base.If bullets start flying, it would be on CNN in seconds. Bad publicity for the leadership.

2.Was done by a few middle and upper class women. I've seen the coverage. Not up to a hundred women. The thing is, most people in Afghansitan are opposed to women getting education. (at levels that make Iran look liberal by comparison)

3.If the protest happened in conservative strongholds like Kandahar, the women would have long since been shot at and dispersed.

4.Even in Kabul, previous protests have been dispersed by teargas.

5.The taliban needs western aid money. If they start firing at the women...that could make ongoing negotiations on the matter very difficult for them.

Everybody knows that The west and NATO created The Talibans to fight off the progressive government supported by the soviets. Yet you blame the Russians. Western brainwashing is on an epidemic level amongst Nigerian youths..

It might interest you to know that the first formal education ever where certificate of completion of studies was issued happened first in an Islamic country.

It might also interest you to know that the backbone of programming (i.e algorithm) was postulated by a Muslim long before Abacus and Pascalin.

It shall soon amount to this in Nigeria, beginning from the north, with the rate northern Nigeria politicians are grabbing all political structures and positions in Nigeria.
Taliban fought and got an Afghanistan to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws.

Northern Nigeria politicians and religious leaders adopted Islamic sharia criminal laws between 1999-2001; they have not denounced the adoption; they are rather struggling to enter sharia criminal justice system in the Constitution.
